    The bows made by "Big Jim's" are really beautiful. I do not have the budget right now to get one, but Big Jim's is in my wish list. "Acadian Woods Bows" also makes excellent ones and they are really beautiful. In Canada, there is also "Valin Traditional Archery Bows". I really encourage everyone to look them up.

    clearly well thought out and made arrows. Your points weight more than the arrows I use on one of my short horsebows :)

    I have the .250 FMJ's as well for my 100 lb recurve. 30.5" length and 75 grain inserts. I had to go down to 125 grain points to make them stiff enough.

    Those FMJ 250's Dangerous are the same arrows I use for my 82# Recurve and my 100# Longbow. They also shoot good from my 72# and 75# Recurves weighing in at 755 grain with a 125 grain field point. I can still get 930 grains out of them with the factory insert using a 300 grain field point/

    You layer the Brodhead on the bow string of the bow

    The problem with heavy bows is that you can very rarely get above 10 gpp arrow weight. Modern recurves and longbows are most efficient at around 13gpp, and an FOC of 19-25%. I understand the desire to shoot heavy bows, but it’s really a pita to set them up properly.

      I have recently converted to grizzlystik.

      Tex Grebner Outdoors nice! I would like to start shooting those some day. I just feel like I wouldn’t be able to let one of em fly, for fear of losing $22 worth of arrow. Lol.

    great! i finally get the same arrows for my 75lbs recurve. total weight is 900grain. i think, 12gpi is great for bows in this drawweightclass

    About 6 pounds of dirt under your finger nails. How often do you clean them?

    Ive seen a 80 plus yr old couple shoot 90lb longbows.. what’s your point. You develop the muscle in your shoulder. Ishi bow was 40 lbs and killed everything. Big bow. Big truck. I see a pattern here.

    Hey tex ! At one time you said a #50 would take down most any game in N. America. So why do you hunt with a #100 when its really not necessary

    • @sebastienraymond3648
      @sebastienraymond3648 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you know that he already mentioned that 50# were enough, you also know why he prefers 75# and more. That is to say, it's his personal choice, which he even mentioned for a zillionth time in each video he made and even at the beginning of the video. 😜

      Sébastien Raymond I was just wondering if there was an advantage there guy. No need to get all upset and womanlike on his behalf.

    • @sebastienraymond3648
      @sebastienraymond3648 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I too have always asked myself the question like you. All my bows and my material is calibrated to 55# (no more, no less). And sincerely, like you, I find it enough and much easier to master also. 😀

    • @nachtschattenmacher
      @nachtschattenmacher 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think, just for fun and because he can draw them.

    • @sebastienraymond3648
      @sebastienraymond3648 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nohereman7907 Personally, I stay at 55#, because I do not want to buy different sets of arrows for bows that are also different from each other. Archery products are often expensive and you have to constantly watch for good deals online.
      So I stoped to act like an archery junkie and sold all my 45# bows (Bear Grizly and Montana and Mag 58), even if they where way better and I only kept my old Sage 55# and my old 68" Frontier 55#.

    How did you build enough strength to draw a 100# recurve...Brother!!

    • @tmoanpumba5487
      @tmoanpumba5487 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      he pulls to 25 inch max.. And the bow is actually 100 @ 29 so around 93-94 @ 28 .. He may be pulling 80 lbs max

    • @cassidyzombie4977
      @cassidyzombie4977 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tmoanpumba5487 from other video I have seen he definitely hugely short draws the heavy bows nobody needs a 100lb now certainly not if your not even pulling the full weight or getting close to anchor

    • @tmoanpumba5487
      @tmoanpumba5487 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cassidyzombie4977 100 isn't bad if you are built for it, I know a guy named Marlon that could shoot it all day.. Not saying its smart or needed thats for sure..
