That's another reason why this is one of my favorite shows. Quinta has the writing ability to blend comedy and the drama of legitimate issues with public schools.
I love this show so much. It’s the sweet that life needs right now. Also Gregory getting down at the end of the episode had my husband and I cracking up.
In college studying Arts Management (or nonprofit management focused on art), one of my professors would give exams this way: we all formed a circle at the front and tossed a ball around. The person who threw the ball asks a question about the given subject, and the catcher has to answer it. Goes around and around until everyone has either asked and answered a question. Seven years later it's the only course I really recall much anymore. Good job, Ms. Avila-Cortez!
The fact that she modulated when he didn’t get it...🤣. Tyler James Williams is perfect for the “The Office” like camerawork because he has been making those hilarious reactionary faces since “Everybody Hates Chris...” HILARIOUS! Happy Sunday! JESUS is LORD!!

100% they will ask those questions. If you answer “They are all boys”, they will ask why Hank only takes the boys. They will then ask if male turkeys and female turkeys taste the same. They might ask it they are free range turkeys or if Hank is married. Nothing is ever simple.
So for my kindergarten I would sing at times when teaching math. For third grade and up I would craft a story with them in it. It made them more invested because now they feel a part of the lesson. Engagement is very important in a classroom, and different classes will be engaged with different things.
See learning moment for the kids! You just have to be careful or you may end up accidentally giving an improv sex ed lesson when you explain there needs to be a female and male turkey. As a sub I have learned the best in those sort of situations is "great question, you should ask your grown up about that"
I'm use to him bc I did not watch the show like that. Plus he was in this Shonda Rhimes show that got cancelled a couple of yr ago that I loved so I'm mostly familiar with his adult acting
Interestingly, his appearances on Key and Peele, and then Black Lady Sketch Show (saw chemistry with Quinta even then, the Romeo and Juliet sketch was 👩🍳💋) helped me ease into it. But that initial shock of seeing him was something else!
Real teaching tips, must have that energy lol must keep the content engaging, and you must be ready to pivot, find a flexible ground with what students are thinking and meet them at their level (pregnant cow, incorporating that joke and building upon the math lesson)
