    Unfortunately I have to say I’m not surprised to see this coming out, I always got a gut feeling watching her videos. She tries to portray herself as this all-knowing “relatable” trainer who can fix anyone’s problem, but more often than not she comes across as a snarky “better-than-you” mean girl to me. Never realised how vile of a person she was though, I could never put my finger on why she rubbed me the wrong way but at least we know now.
    I feel so horrible for that poor owner, I hope she can continue to find joy in her horse and is rewarded for her bravery in coming forward to blow the whistle by seeing Alicia taken down. ❤

    No way in the world would I have paid for that damage to the arena, the rider caused it, she pays 🤬
    I sympathise with this owner. I sent a horse to a very famous & much loved stockhorse ‘trainer’. He traumatised her so badly I brought her home after less than a week. She was never the same, was unrideable & was nasty to be around. She was so traumatised by this much loved & lauded ‘trainer’ it killed her in the end.

    Yes but can we talk about the owner?? As an owner you're the only one responsible for what's happening with your horse. The fact that you just watch the way your horse is mistreated doesn't make you any less of an abuser. If you can't stand up for your animals, you don't have the right to be an animal owner. If you're responsible for another life, you can not hide behind freezing as a trauma response. We would call someone a horrible mother if they would freeze when someone is hitting their child, right? The same applies here. If you can not stand up, please go to therapy, instead of own a horse. You are not ready for this responsibility. Both parties are at fault. Absolutely disgusting.

    • @AccidentallyOnPurpose
      @AccidentallyOnPurpose 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

      The owner is young and inexperienced and left in tears. When you are paying thousands of dollars for training you don't expect abuse, you expect the person to do their job. Calling out everyone else but putting the blame solely on the abuser doesn't help. And no, children that are abused in daycares the mother doesn't get called out for paying that child to be looked after, the daycare is the one held responsible.

    • @ellairax
      @ellairax 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      I also think the facility owner should have stepped in. As an facility owner you have the right to remove people from your property if they are committing animal abuse - and property damage, which happened not once but three times and the facility owner still didn’t put a stop to it.
      I know this would never be tolerated at my stables. My barn owner has no problem saying something when something isn’t right, whether it is by lack of knowledge or intentional abuse. In the past, she has even refused to sell horses to people who ride abusively. That is your responsibility as a facility and horse owner.
      When we see these videos, we should also ask, who owns the facility and is allowing this to take place? Abuse doesn’t happen just once, so facility owners should be aware of it. There are hundreds of facilities that pro riders are using who allow this behavior to happen under their own roofs and PROFIT from it. Some people own their own facilities, but if all facilities didn’t let this behavior happen, it would make it a lot harder for many of the abusers.

    • @Lilee177

      The owner is literally not the person you should be targetting here. What is wrong with you. The owner is not at all the abuser here and was clearly extremely upset in this situation and did not return to Alicia for any further training. It's literally not as simple as saying just stand up for your animal. I hope you don't own animals or ever have children. You lack empathy. I have no doubt that had the owner tried to stand up for her horse, Alicia would have thrown a fit and it either would have made her behaviour worse or she would have taken it out on the owner. Alicia is the problem here. How on earth have you swung this around on the owner.

    People must learn to say NO or STOP even in front of someone they consider to be a master, to listen to their heart, to their horse. unfortnatly i had to live a similar situation, i was stuck, my brain was frozen, it's a natural reaction if you are not prepared, your brain says "no it's not possible, it will soon get better, the "master" does know what he is doing.., it's me i misunderstand...". Be assured that this "master" is a psychotic, with no empathy, no common sens, and not even skilled, but use his/her status as a power of life and death, they are cruel and offensive when you tell them..many of them are NPM..they destroy also people, children, animals. This person didn't do just a mistake, he/she must be banned from professionnal registers. If Generalising this, I guess that it won't remain a lot of valuable pro 😥

Hopefully, the young owner feels more confident in standing up for what she believes in now, and the horse was able to heal and move on too.

    Disgusting. Don't see the point of working a horse like that. The use of spurs is a disgrace, they should be banned. A good equestrian should not need spurs, but dressage riders use them all the time and nothing is ever said about it. How would a human like to be poked in the sides constantly like that, and all for the glory of the rider. Shameful!

    • @jephianey7866
      @jephianey7866 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As a dressage rider myself I heavily agree with the fact this is not okay.
      But what I heavily disagree with is that the usage of spurs should be forbidden, and that dressage riders always use them.
      Almost every high level equestrian uses spurs every day nowadays.
      And there is nothing wrong with using the spurs if you’re kind to your horse.
      This woman is just incredibly abusive and an unstable emotional figure, which unfortunately meant the horse paid the price. This is, of course, not okay!
      But I do want you to remember that there are still good equestrians in the higher levels. There really are! But unfortunately, they don’t get as much spotlight.
      But do keep faith, one day, our sport will be clean. I just know it.

      I think victim blaming isn’t helpful. Gun’s owner feels a lot of guilt she didn’t act but I suppose we can gain some benefit for the future though. So let’s use this as a learning and growth opportunity to learn about people & traumatic events.
      Flight, fight, freeze are all trauma responses.
      My response is to fight, as it seems yours is, the owners response was to freeze.
      The trigger is irrelevant, whether you yourself are being abused, or you are witnessing abuse, we all respond to trauma differently, and that response is NOT a choice. It is an autonomic nervous system response, set up and hardwired from the first few years of life.
      Victim blaming isn’t going to help, let’s be kinder and broader in our understanding and we, the fighters, may have to step in to advocate if we see a freeze or flight response.
      What do you think?

      @@RogerThat-hrsI think you have a point. I felt no sympathy at first but I’m experiencing the freeze response first hand at the moment as a result of a severe medical incident. When it happens, it’s a central nervous system freeze, and come hell or high water, there is nothing I can do.
      She wasn’t experiencing that - she was responding and talking - but I guess there are degrees. I think it’s very hard for us to understand because the majority of us see red as soon as our animal’s physical, mental and emotional safety are at stake.
      Regardless, it may be that the reason for the delay in whistleblowing is because the owner has been feeling her own shame. She’s done the right thing in the end, and (assuming a decent person) she will have learned from this.
      Dickinson needs discrediting immediately. The reality is she was never good enough, and that’s possibly why the conflict with Dujardin. Her comment that she doesn’t get the extra marks because she’s not prepared to beat horses ‘like the pro’s’ is null and void.

    What a disgusting show. I'm glad that it was uploaded to show how deplorable she is. U can tell the horse has a great character as he did not fight hard. Of course kicking and whipping like that makes it hard. I think these aids should be like car licences coz there are too many ppl abusing them like this. They have a place when used right. It tbh reminds me of a racehorse trainer next door. It breaks my heart seeing them used like a production line and spat out similar to this. She got paid she don't give af.
    I have 2 ottb rescues that were on deaths door. Mine are showered with everything they need and we work together it's a relationship. If I wanted to only have a 1 sided experience I'd ride my motor bike.

      You have a lot to learn about people & traumatic events.

      Your response is to fight, the owners response was to freeze.

      Phhhh bitch please. There IS no more to the story. If you’re teaching and the horse is demonstrating that level of distress, it’s always 100% the fault of the human. It can mean a myriad of things: The basics have to be built back up slowly, the physical capability of the horse assessed, and in some cases, it’s just not the day, and you have to find a relaxed, good SHORT end note, and finish for the day. What you don’t do is keep grinding for TWENTY MINUTES especially when you know the horse has been out of work for a MONTH.

I wouldn't have tolerated it, especially in light of the fact she knew the horse had been off work for a month. I feel sorry for the horse's owner. Like a lot of people, she probably felt Alicia knew what she was doing, as many do when a well-known person is in front of them. You have to believe what your eyes are showing you, not the propaganda of reputation. We all tend to be intimidated by "big names". Considering what happened, I would be inclined to look into filing a law suit against her. Not just for the damage to the arena boards, but also to the damage to the horse and the horse owner's psyche. The owner should not be responsible for the resulting vet bills. I wonder if the owner of the arena would ever allow Alicia back at the facility, since she clearly refused to accept any responsibility for what happened.
