How many former police vehicles are involved in crashes while in civilian or criminal hands?
Truly a ridiculous argument that is just trying to vilify gun ownership as a whole we get it people use guns in crimes you're trying to imply anyone selling a gun is partially responsible for that but the majority of America disagrees and it is a constitutionally protected right.
The police have never sold a firearm to anyone that wasn't a law-abiding citizen

@@donwyoming1936 "we" dont sell guns, we dont have FFL's nor have the ability to do the proper background check needed to confidently, to theoretically sell a firearm. 99% of gun owners aren't unhinged people with no disregard to people.

It's not tough to get a gun in america. I'm not for outlawing all guns but maybe America should should be more careful about who buys and even more importantly, what's the penalty for law breakers.
It's not tough at all. It is very easy. The guns I own are all legal, but I can easily buy black market stuff if I want to. It is so easy to find; it's shameful.
And what do you intend to do about the people who buy their guns against current laws? What new laws will make them suddenly decide to obey the law? We should make it easier for people to arm up so they can defend themselves.

i have gotten two used G17's from a sporting goods place that takes in used Atlanta PD firearms, sometimes heavily used sometimes barely used, most often come with 120 dollar night sights. they way they are pitching this story is wrong. Police aren't handing guns over to criminals. come on

Let the cops profile and Stop and Frisk certain people.
Ok the kid was shot 4 times. Maybe the cops should just throw the guns in a dumpster and buy new. That will solve the problem. The gun store can just sell new guns anyway.

Just because the firearm was previously used in law enforcement DOES NOT make it any more deadly than any other firearms you can purchase elsewhere. In fact a lot of departments have restrictions and SOPS set in place so that they cannot change or manipulate / replace trigger pull or trigger kits, other modifications etc. It's important that we don't led media clips like this misinform our public into thinking the wrong things , this only leads to negative impact.

@@KentaObscuro you know the guns aren't just laying in the street for anyone to take right? you still need a background check and all that to obtain one. Same as any other gun.
@@KentaObscuro It is though. More guns = less crime. The violent crime rate is half what it was in the early 1990s yet the population has significantly grown and the number of guns has at least doubled.
The founders of this country created the bill of rights including the 2nd amendment because they are absolute birth rights. The founders, the 2nd amendment is the commonsense gun law. A well-regulated militia, the military Is to be regulated so the military stays under civilian control and management. The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, no law shall be enacted to limit or control the right of the citizens to own and carry arms. The founders warned against people like these socialists who will try to take that away and then tyranny will follow.
The founding fathers also warned us against traitors who would overthrow our constitution and democracy

What? Police officers weapons are bought and owned by the agency. No police officer owns his gun. How did you get this idea from this video? Did you even watch it?
Police agencies decide to get new weapons, so they buy new weapons, then they collect the OLD USED weapons and they sell them, likely in bulk, to recoup some of the money that they originally cost. No where in this video is anyone talking of a former officer selling his former duty weapon to anyone.

They charge too damn much anyways. 400 for a beat up glock is a rip off, i can build one for like 270 easy day. Even less with a 3d printer. Perhaps if we force them to melt these down the youngins that know how to 3d print can get rid of some of the competition on the street.

@@Temporal_Assassin Usually they are traded in to the FFL Dealer they are buying the new guns from. How that FFL Dealer disposes of them has nothing to do with the Agency that traded them in.
I’m not smart enough to know what side of this argument is correct. However, I am smart enough to know that I would never purchase a used firearm from a police department. I can promise you that they may look shiny and new at the store but more than likely their maintenance during their lifetime was subpar at best. Rode hard and put away wet if you will. So if they are sold or not after their lifespan, personally I don’t trust a cop when I get pulled over for speeding so why would I trust one to maintain issued equipment being passed on. Just saying.
There is such a thing known as fixing. When its a good price for gun owners are going to want to buy it. But mostly those guns are more collectors items from what ive seen. People like the idea of their guns being used by law enforcement.
If not that then its just purely for the savings deal.
"maintenance during their lifetime was subpar at best"? REALL!!!! Literally every Agency has a Factory Certified Armor on staff and all firearms go through a full inspection at least once a year. Do you have your firearms inspected by a Factory Armor once a year?
I might add to Reaper's comment, that weapon may save my life, or a citizens life one day. Damn straight I will keep it in immaculate condition if it could save my life one day.
