Never heard of Chilliwack so went and listened to My Girl ( gone, gone gone ) before commenting Very cool band They put me in mind of Supertramp , maybe in how they progressed over the years And their strong vocals and a certain keyboard sound they have Im a big Supertramp fan so this is a big compliment I will check them out some more Thanks for introducing me to them.
@jessem470 My complete pleasure, Jesse. I am so glad you checked out more of their stuff. That is a big compliment since you are such a big Supertramp fan and Supertramp is an amazing band. Chilliwack really had switched it up from song to song 🤩❤️
Hey Sue .. As I think we talked about a while back, I only really remembered Chilliwack from "My Girl ( Gone Gone Gone )" .. But since then, I've seen this song reacted to on another channel, and now on yours .. And it's great .. Good feel throughout all the various sections of it, but the highlights for me are the shift into the higher energy section with the high lead vocals, and the real star of the show, that amazing lead guitar .. Very impressive song.👌
@wayne_twentyfive Hi Wayne, I am so glad you got to hear this one already. It is a terrific song...it needs more love. I agree with your assessment. When he goes into his high powerful range, it is very impressive and the guitar work in this song adds so much energy to the song....great tune 😊💜
Love this tune, Canadian classic which I believe you had on your top 10 Canadian Banger's list. Love the guitar and the solo in this song. Which got me thinking who are the greatest Canadian guitar players. Here is my top 10. If you can think of anybody I may have missed let me know. Frank Marino - Mahogany Rush Alex Lifeson - Rush Rik Emmett - Triumph Ian Crichton - SAGA Randy Bachman - The Guess Who/BTO Kim Mitchell - Max Webster/Solo Myles Goodwyn and the boys - April Wine Jeff Healey Pat Travers Jerry Doucette HM - Lenny Breau - Famous in Nashville, considered by some as the greatest guitar player ever.
@JeromeDukes Great list, Jason. I think since we are talking about thus song and group, we have to mention Bill Henderson - Chilliwack Paul Dean - Loverboy Rob Baker - The Hip Joni Mitchell Liona Boyd Neil Young
@@playitagainsue Never heard of Liona Boyd, I'll have to check out here playing. I thought of including the guitar players from bands like Loverboy, Prism, Blue Rodeo and Chilliwack but I've never really dove into their catalog and I'm only aware of their popular songs. Joni Mitchell and Neil Young are good players as well but I see them mostly as amazing song writers. There was a superband I discovered around 2010, when I first picked up the guitar. The band consisted of members from the BC area. I remember hearing a song by them where the guitar was so good, it would melt your face 😂🤣😂. To this day I've been searching, trying to remember the band name and that song. I thought for sure Bill Henderson would be part of that superband but I can't find any info on the band associated with him. One day I'm sure I'm run across the the song, until than the search continues.
@JeromeDukes Liona Boyd is a classical guitar player. I remember hearing her back in the 70s. Some call her the 1st lady of guitar I would love to hear about your super band members. If you remember, please let me know who they are 🤩💕
My playlist of everything by Chilliwack (and their previous incarnation, The Collectors). Enjoy! th-cam.com/play/PLlYFBQULBYC4GSxea6s1C-3N6L1beWF0y.html My personal favorite was their less famous U.S. Top 40 hit (besides My Girl / Gone Gone Gone), I Believe. That whole album was great, spawning their only two Top 40 U.S. hits.
