Margot Robie claims Babylon shows how Hollywood "really was." She has no idea how Hollywood "really was," she's not a historian, she's an empty headed starlet who reads whatever it says in the script they hand her.
She is fairly accurate in describing 1920s America let alone Hollywood. The roaring 20s was wild, prohibition caused a massive backlash in behavior

@@corvanna4438 I don't know if you've seen the movie Babylon, but please explain your source for the scene with the torch lit dungeon going down multiple levels where strange looking mutants torture and kill, and open gun battles take place. Please tell me your source for the scene with hundreds of naked revelers dancing and having sex around a rampaging elephant, with the fatalities being discreetly disposed of. I'd ask Margot Robie but she is obviously clueless.
Even one death at a decadent Hollywood party (Virginia Rappe) where the sex took place privately, in a bedroom at the party, ruined the career of a star, Fatty Arbuckle, and resulted in three criminal trials.
The 1920s had some raucous moments but most of the country was basically conservative, religious and agrarian-- a bunch of gawkers who loved to be scandalized and titillated by fantasies. Apparently that hasn't changed much, and Ms. Robie is happy to fill that demand.
This was a strange film. The plot is simple but you are blasted with over production.
Honestly, for people not in the business, what does that mean here?
@@IPlayOneOnT.V. The plot was diminished by the huge over the top scenes with loud thirties music and extra curricular scenes that should blew your mind . I was stunned when it ended and had no opinion of what I had just witnessed. Not offended but just blown away. Check it out.
