When it comes to kpop. There are a lot of groups who don’t write, produce, or choreograph their songs. That doesn’t mean those groups aren’t good or don’t work hard but some groups just have less creative freedom. I do think their is some sexism in the industry because to be honest I can only think of one girl group who has a hand in song writing and production

Twice (Dahyun, Nayeon, Jihyo are amazing songwriters); Gidle (Practically the whole group except for maybe Soojin and Shuhua), Dreamcatcher (especially Jiu and Dami), then obviously EXID, Mamamoo,(they have contributed a LOT), CLC, and even Purple Kiss and Weeekly have been credited as lyricists for their songs and they are just rookies. A lot of soloists like Sunmi, Chungha, IU have basically written almost all their songs. Then there's AKMU also. And this is only from the groups I stan and girl groups; excluding 2nd Generation. I really do think the lack of creative freedom is perhaps maybe cause the idols are themselves not into this? Idols are sent to companies where they are molded. I think Itzy; as a group is more focused on dance and the performance aspect. Maybe in the future, they can write their own songs as well. JYP especially I have seen from Wondergirls, Twice, Got 7 and Stray Kids actually have idols very much involved.
