My dryer has this exact issue and this was the first video I found that actually got to the point. Ordered myself a kit from Amazon. Some kits claim upgraded ball bearings which may or may not be true but was only an extra few dollars so I'll give those a shot.
I never comment on videos, but wanted to thank you for this! I watched this one time and i was able to complete the repair. It ended up being the bearings in the rollers going out. The whole kit that includes 4 rollers, belt, idler pulley/bracket, and spring I got on Amazon for $35 shipped overnight. This video saved my mother $1000!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I am going to fix my Samsung dryer now and I wouldn't have known exactly what to do without your excellent video. Some videos claim that the blower motor assembly is the cause of the problem, but the noise I hear is consistent with bearings that are going bad and those rollers. Thank you!
Thanks for superb video. My Samsung DV45H7000EW/AC was making a very loud grinding screeching noise. The problem was a dry, worn out rear wheel bearing, just as you indicated in the video. Your disassembly and reassembly instructions made my job fast and easy as they matched my model exactly but as you say, it applies to a wide range of Samsung dryers that share a similar mechanical design. All rollers on my unit have plain bearings. They have been lubed as recommended. Parts were obtained locally, over the counter, from a small appliance parts dealer a few minutes from my home. I figure your video saved a $250-300 repair bill. Thanks again!
Thank you so much. I used this video for the repair on my Samsung dryer, it was so helpful. Very detailed and yet to the point. Thanks again, our dryer had been noisy for months.
Thanks a million. I had a newer Samsung dryer, with the controls right above the dryer door (Instead of on the back panel) There were a few more steps, and more electronic connections to undo, 2 pulleys attached to the front bulkhead....Bingo, the pulley was broken. I changed the front two pulleys out. ++Note ++ getting the plastic triangle retention clips off the new bearing wheels was too tricky 9I was afraid I was going to break them) so I opted for the more difficult job of unscrewing the entire shaft and replacing the pulleys as an entire unit with new shaft. Your video gave me the courage to exchange all parts, pully tensioner, and belt :-) Tips from my model: 1. Label all screws as you take them off (I used a magic marker and gave each screw section a letter "T - for top screws) and marked the frame to match them up 2. I used some lock tight on all the threaded shafts as I reassembled the shafts and drum wheels. 3. The drum belt was very deformed from being smashed in the package of repair parts - I taped it down to the drum in sections to keep in place 4. Putting the belt back on is the hardest part of the project Keep up the great work young man - Dan
My sister's dryer will require a kit about 7 bucks more. But it's ordered and I look forward to tackling it next week. Your video made it so much more direct and to the point. Usually I'll tear into things blind. Still come out with it repaired but videos like this make it sweet and simple, Thanks. My cousin been pushing me to make repair videos. I might make one of my repair. My sister don't trust just everyone to make repairs on her items. Thanks for your video it has proven to be helpful a week before the project. Liked and subscribed 😊
Thank you so much for making this video! I watched a couple different videos but yours was the most helpful! Made changing all the wheels and the belt a lot easier!
This is the first such video that I found that has the noise recorded. Thanks for that! Now I'm pretty sure one of these components are what's failing in my Kenmore.
Thanks for posting this, and thanks especially for DEMONSTRATING the sound that you're trying to fix @ 00:26. Haven't repaired mine yet but pretty sure I can DIY it now.
Great video - helped me out a lot and it was my idler pulley that was bad. Disassembly was pretty much exactly the same as your video except I had to disconnect the light connector in the bulkhead. Thanks again!!
Thank you for this video. It definitely helped today. I've had to replace the idler pully, but never had to pull the drum. It was nice to have this as a reference
Thank you so much! Thankfully our parts were good. Come to find out it was a nickel and dime in the fan motor. Wouldn’t be able to correct it without your video showing how to disassemble.
The motor mount bushing was worn on mine. It was the one with a c-clamp on to hold the motor. There is no parts for that replacement, they wanted to sell the entire motor. So ended up cutting a tires rubber and use it as a bushing. 3 years now there is no problem. Those rollers they dont go bad easily. My dryer is 10 years old, with the same model you have it was built 2012. The 2nd problem was the heater core that i replaced last year which cost $12.00. It has long way to live ^_^
The kit is a good kit but as an upgrade version with ball bearings you must change out all four shafts not just the rollers! This is a lot more extensive than you have described
The OEM Samsung parts included in this kit are many, many times more expensive than the kit you used. My original dryer parts lasted about 5-6 years before it started to rumble. In your opinion, are the OEM parts much higher quality? I don't really want to do this again in a year. Thank you for this great video. It is easy to follow along and understand.
I have had good luck with the Amazon kits but then again I have not tested them for 5 to 6 years. It is a risk, but I would read the reviews and go from there. Hope this helped!
Only suggestion is explain the best way to put the belt back on - because I must have tinkered with that for 20 mins trying to find the best leverage. Otherwise - spot on and this worked like a charm!
Looks like a lot of work to get at the rollers, but well worth doing so. How much time involved in tearing this dryer apart to replace rollers, and putting the machine back together? Oh and thanks for these videos.
Here u go. It was in the description , if you scroll all the way down. www.amazon.com/DC97-16782A-DC93-00634A-Belt6602-001655-AP5325135-AP4373659/dp/B07M87YFJS/ref=asc_df_B07M87YFJS/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241917938064&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12173699466444091438&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032497&hvtargid=pla-612656298840&psc=1
They don’t sell the rollers without the shaft already attached. And those plastic retaining clips break if you try to take them off. Isn’t it better to just unbolt it from the back and replace the entire assembly? Those shafts are prone to damage if it’s worn and noisy. I get that if it feels good to just grease it up and reuse it. I used red and tacky grease.
My Niece & her Husband, morons lol! And why, I pulled the dryer apart knowing what I would find. Loose change was an understatement. Pulled the drum, you could hear it falling out of the channels of the dryer drum. $40.00 in change; and charge them $120.00 on top of that LOL. I have a SAMSUNG dryer 2009 my self, I changed the belt twice, the rollers doing great. My dryer never look like that with all that dust you had... Dust kills bearings. Good job!
I don't think they do it on purpose. I think they just use the cheapest production parts possible. At the end of the day, it has the same effect, appliances that have issues within the first year or two
That might be a good location to hide small valuables.... under the drum. Hmmm... Sorry, scenes from Breaking Bad flooded my mind. Thanks for the video!
mine started to make a lot of noise when tumbling. Belt was ok and the one roller I could see in the back was ok. It made noise only at certain points in the drum rotation. Removed front cover and found one roller had a flat edge because the roller likely wasn't rolling smoothly. Until the new roller arrives I smoothed out the roller edge and added grease to the shaft and it's quieter that was definitely the problem.
Our dryer can grind real loud when it first starts up and when it runs with a very light load. We jolt the machine backwards and the sound usually goes away. Any idea what this would be caused by?

Thanks! Your video helped me disassemble to diagnose my dryer noise, which turned out to be small rocks inside the lint blower part.
Awesome, I'm glad I could help! Thanks for supporting the channel!
This video is the one. The talking through troubleshooting during disassembly, along with the re-assembly video. *chef’s kiss*
Glad I could help!

Great job with the repair! You are right, any appliance repair person would have at least charged $250 for this repair.
GREAT Video!! My husband was able to fix our dryer with your step by step instructions. Thank you so much!!
That's awesome to hear! Kudos to your husband! Glad I could help

You are a professional brother. Thank you for saving me a large sum of money and one less argument with the wife! 😅
Glad to help! Happy wife, happy life!

Awesome work! Glad I could help a little bit!
Thanks brother!!! This video took me step by step. Before videos like this on TH-cam, I guess I would have just been buying a new dryer.
That's awesome! Great job to you as well!
Thank you. Great video. Saved me a bunch of time and headaches
Great instructions fixing this dryer! Fixed mine in no time. I did change the wheel axles, I didn't have to. Still works tho! Thanks again!!
Great job on the fix!
This man just saved my sanity! My issue was the exact same
Great video but the Amazon parts in the description are the wrong ones. Video was still extremely helpful!
You rock! 30 minute repair.. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

This vid was great!!! I literally had the exact issue with the exact dryer haha great walk through
Awesome, I'm glad I could help!
Thanks for posting! My dryer is no longer screeching at me
Very nice!
Great video.. step by step thank you
Thanks for the video. My dryer had the exact same problem. Great info.
Your welcome. Glad to help!
Is the screw on the pully supposed to be tight?
Yes

Exactly the same problem with my pully-- the belt had worn right through it. Lousy plastic garbage piece, but a great video-- thank you!
Glad it helped!
This video helped a lot. Thanks
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Thank you, saved me a repair bill
Great to hear!
Thanks Very much U R The Man.
Thank you for the video!
Your welcome!

Appreciate the tip!
Thanks
Follow the instructions step by step and I fix the problem on my dryer 🙋♂️💯%
Awesome Job! Glad I could help!
Thank you soooo much!!! This really helped.
Glad to help!
Looks like a lot of work to get at the rollers, but well worth doing so. How much time involved in tearing this dryer apart to replace rollers, and putting the machine back together? Oh and thanks for these videos.
Yes, the rollers on these take probably twice as much time as they would on a whirlpool/maytag dryer. I appreciate the support for the channel!
I have the same dryer.. same issue.. now I know..👍👍
Awesome!
Excellent video! Thank you 👍 liked and subscribed 👍
Awesome thank you!
Is it a good idea to lubricate the wheels
Silicone based lubricant is best for this application
@@DuctTapeMechanic Thanks brother
Excellent video!
Thank!
Hey should I put lube on the rollers or not a lot of forms say not to and if so what lube should I apply?
Personally I believe a couple drops of silicone based lubricant is the way to go. Otherwise metal on metal is gonna start makes noises!
Your awesome man thank you!!! Great video! Great step by step!
Thank you! Best of luck in your repair!
Thank you for your help today
No problem!
This is our exact dryer. I am having trouble finding your link to get the kit from Amazon. Would you mind letting me know, please?
Here u go. It was in the description , if you scroll all the way down.

Very easy to follow steps thanks. But after I put back together it won’t start, has power but just keeps blinking and nothing happens
Did you remember to plug the door switch back jn?
They don’t sell the rollers without the shaft already attached. And those plastic retaining clips break if you try to take them off. Isn’t it better to just unbolt it from the back and replace the entire assembly? Those shafts are prone to damage if it’s worn and noisy. How should my belt look on the drum
Did u take a picture before taking it off?
Really helpful
Do you think Samsung internationally makes poor dryers?
Planned obscelescence is a problem with electronics after all.
Well, until the dryer starts to heat up and burns it all! Lol
Thank you Boss
No problem sir!

You don’t have to remove the back screws 1:20 the front will pop up if you take your palm and push it up
I really like your video but too bad you didn’t have someone holding the camera to see the belt better.
I'm trying to improve!
Bien esplicado perfecto aregle la mia yo mismo viendo este video
Wife’s hair tangled up everywhere that may have been part of the problem lol!
And I’m 3 cents richer, 3 Pennie’s found in the base of the dryer
Right on!
Replace the Rollers! Don’t go cheap ! Alot of work to disassemble !
Good suggestion!
or a 1b of lint in the blower cage!! Now where did that left over baby (3/8) screw go? yup one left over.
Been there!
Our dryer can grind real loud when it first starts up and when it runs with a very light load. We jolt the machine backwards and the sound usually goes away. Any idea what this would be caused by?
We did this today and Jesus Christ we pulled out so much lint it looked like a giant cat 😅
Gotta make sure to clean lint trap every use
