That is great. One of healthiest foods from YOUR soil. One tip. Blueberries don't tolerate lime. ph should sour. like soil in the forest. The harvest of every berry will be bigger with pottasium. Berries are tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkin, zucchini.
There are many varieties available. Here in Europe we have Blueberries for Spanish climate only and others for colder or wet climate. Maybe you can get some in the US. They have different climate zones. There are for sure varieties for hot Louisiana or Florida. Have some recherche, please.

What a great and practical way to obtain seeds. Every box of local blueberries we get here in the USA always has a few berries starting to go bad, so sorting them out and using them just for seeds sounds like a wonderful idea. Except where i live the soil ph is soooo bad we cant geow them with out a huge expense...and containers...maybe i can swap seeds.

Can seeds be sourced from frozen store bought fruit? Fresh blueberries are not available in southern Italy and are only available frozen, but they are mixed with other berries.
They may be deseeded. I have never bought this frozen food.

I have two growing in pots here in NZ and they thrive on a high acidic soil so give them a good mulch of pine needles 😀

Did you put the blueberries in the freezer for 120 days before collecting the seeds? or after collecting them? to ensure that they break their dormancy? or you just collected the seeds from fresh blueberries and then store them/plant them in a dry place?

Were the seeds stratified first? The blueberry seeds we collect in Canada require stratification to emulate the winter season prior to sprouting. They need to be frozen or near enough for 3 to 5 weeks.

Were did you learn all this? And what is some basic gardening equipment one should have to start out? I’m currently trying the lemon from seeds (alrhough I don’t expect them to sprout because it isn’t really warm in my dark places, but hella warm outside). Have you done elderflower/elderberry before or are you going to try it out? Kind regards
