Cool little town! Any place that sells ice cream in a hardware store can't be bad :-) Boy, that IS a long way to walk out on that barrier of rocks. That must have been kind of tricky to walk on....especially in sandals! I wonder where all those trees in the lake come from - there are so many of them on shore. Hey Mr. Wander D! It's Fun to Visit that Nice Town with you again. POPCORN BALLS! When I was a really little kid, my Mom had a Recipe. We made them quite a few times. I don't remember it all exactly, (I was really little) but I do remember it was a whole lot of Fun for the entire Family and always a big Mess! Cheers! Thumbs Up!

Used to be 6-7 more bars and a bowling alley with bar before the copper mine closed, then paper mill closed, used to be 3 grocery stores, 3 more restaurants, couple pharmacies, 3 clothing stores, 2 hardware stores. K-12 now all in same building that was only the high school in them days, graduating 100 per year then, now graduating like 25 and one less high school in county than back then. Sad.
eating at syls , drinking at stubbs , followed by a walk back to the county park campground to sleep in my tent while hearing the waves of lake superior to put me to sleep....aah good times!
This was a great overview of Ontonagon. I loved the music that you put with the bike rides. After your comment to me the other day, every time I see these videos of the beach with driftwood, I think, "Firewood"! I got the impression that you were no longer in Ontonagon when you put this video together. Does that mean that you have moved on to your favorite little city of Marquette?
Sidewalks ❓ What's with that ❓Ever been thru Mohawk. Between Houhton & Copper Harbor. Bar/restaurant across from The White House Inn Turkey dinners, every Sunday. Real Turkey buffet. Get there early. Don't take to strangers..
Job opportunities seem to be VERY low!! It is a tiny town with no industry to think of.. If you can work remotely it might be a fun place -- otherwise seems tough.
I really liked that you showed where people buy food most videos don't show grocery stores. Going in one would be even better.

it is a nice town but it is very small and far from... well most anything. lol
I was born there, still have family there. Its changed a lot, but still a nice place to visit.

A lot of my friends parents retired from GM and moved to the U.P.
Lower cost of living and they were set with Pensions.
Escanaba is a nice town and only two hours to Green Bay.

Stubbs museum bar is a must see when in ontangen, MI.

Looks like a cool stop. I'd like to explore the western UP more, up through Minnesota to Grand Portage or maybe even Thunder Bay.
It is a great area - I did Minnesota = Grand Portage and Isle Royale last summer - HIGHLY recommend. :-)

I like using driftwood for fires... I have moved on but not to Marquette... There is a good chance that will happen tho. lol
