Anyway you could do a video of a catch out ? I had a chicken farm down in Florida for 22 years before Tyson put us out of business. I miss the chicken business and would love a video of a catch out if you could. Love the videos btw
Hello Chicken farmer from norway here. We use a spinning sweeper attatchment on the bobcat along the walls so we dont have to shovel anything but i dont think it would be possible on your walls
Hey! Thanks for the info. We have a spring loaded blade that we used prior to the spray foam that works great. We haven’t found anything to use now that we have the spray foam that won’t tear it off the walls.
When you wash the ceiling how do your brooders handle it? Or do you steer around the brooders? Does the water dripping from the ceiling keep you from being able to blow the dust off the tops of the brooder later? Any trouble with brooders lighting later?
I have never washed over my brooders. I always do from about my feedlines to the wall. I have heard of people doing their entire houses though. If you do that, make sure your lights aren't on and I think people have said don't turn them on for a day or two after. I would assume the same would apply for the brooders.
@@FarmerHunt We use a tank washer similar to yours but with a wand on the PTO pump and a gas pressure washer plumbed in so 2 people can wash at once. We wash lights and fans every flock then have the entire house washed once a year. This is what I'm looking for a way to replace. It costs us $2200 to have all 6 houses washed and it wouldn't take long to pay for a spray bar at that
@FarmerHunt the other day u posted about the power company and wanted to know what others would do correct They would get a phone call from me and would have to come to that location so I explain in person my concerns u know what I mean
We like it a lot. It has the hydrostatic transmission and it is great in the chicken houses and hay field. I wish it had a little more horsepower and was a little heavier but its still a great tractor.
Working hard! Educational video.
Thanks for watching!
They got us on 28 days out time in NC
Wow, thats a good bit of downtime. What size bird do you grow? Ideally I like to have 18-21 days
@@FarmerHunt they usually catch at day 60-61

Thank you!
Another fun and informative video guys. I enjoyed it very much so. Thx
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
I’ve been getting ready for baby chickens too
Good luck! How have your flocks been going?
@@FarmerHunt flocks been ok but I’m in the breeders side of things I keep them 21 weeks
That was a sinking feeling when I saw that bent cross bar. I thought the chain was broke with a full load.
We were both shocked that it wasn’t broken!
“That’s why pay your tithes ”. Amen to that. You sure don’t want Jesus punching holes in your money bags.

@@FarmerHunt was the result on the flock good? And how was the mortality in the flock?
We are on day 9 of the flock after cleaning out. So far it’s going well!
Great job body I like your videos what years build in your houses
Thanks! They were built in the early 90’s.
I will be interested to hear if your mortality improves after this total clean out.
I sure hope so!

I'd dare say that y'all rarely ever buy fertilizer for your pastures or hay fields. Hope the survival rate increases and thanks for keeping us fed.
Thanks! Last year we used some commercial fertilizer on a hay field to try it out. That was a first. Between 8 chicken houses we usually have plenty!
Considering a total clean out, they brought me a terrible flock full of kinky back now I’m thinking it’s down In the litter
We haven’t had kinky back but I think we’ve had about everything else. We are 2 weeks into this flock after cleaning out. So far it’s going well.
@@FarmerHunt good deal hope the grow out goes well for you!
That ptl burns my fingers sometimes lol

Are the house floors concrete or dirt?
They are dirt
25psi -30psi and roll lol
Hey it's marlow🩷
Hey Marlow!
What has been the cause of your high mortality?
Mostly dermatitis. The chicken company has changed up the cocci program so hopefully that is going to help.
