from my experience , when i used poultry Litter for the trees, in the winter time, its generate heat for the soil, and the tree started bloom 2 or 3 week faster than the one with out poultry Litter
what about the volatility of the ammonia in the PL, not great for the environment. That being said the Eutrophication taking place from the Synthetic Nitrogen fertilizer is equally bad. Compost the Litter with fixed carbon and you will have a stable solution that reduces leeching.
You did it all wrong. If you work it into the soil before you plant I promise you the results will be much different. And you won't be out there applying fertilizer on wet ground.
What about the antibiotecs that are fed to the poultry chicken through the feed and water. Significant traces of these antibiotecs are found in the poultry litter. Are'nt these harmful for the microbes found in the soil?
Most growers do not use sub therapeutic levels of antibiotics. Chix grow so fast they do not respond to it and those antibiotics are unlikely to remain anyway although some antibiotics do not degrade as fast as others.
