The movie was one of my very first animes alongside Akira and Princess Mononoke. It shocked me seeing all the death and the sad ending, but when I revisited it years later, I really grew to love it. I watched so many AMVs, which are now nostalgic. One of the darkest, yet most unique atmospheres I've found in anime. Still have it on DVD, and I'll always keep it.

I hope they will make a remake of the tv show and give it a real end despite the manga never finished. Te show actually had so good characters you see not so often these days. No stupid moe or big titty girls, but very diverse and adult characters. A monk, a soldier, an editor...I like that.

i know this project was a bit chaotic but think about this, how many times have you seen an anime where a big conflict is resolved using conciliation as an option and where both sides are victims of a conflict that they were forced to face by a divine whim ?, the clamp group always thought outside the box, that's something to admire.
I remember watching this movie in middle school and still to this day it just doesn't make sense to me. The only part that has stuck in my mind over the years is this song.
To be fair, the anime is not that great because it fails to explain a lot and stuffing all these characters into movie-length doesn't work. I see it more like a bonus for those who watched the 24 episodes long anime.
Thank god you didn't have to make any decision like that. Just think about the decisions you make in your life. What are the inevitable consequences. And what if you knew the outcome, and it works against you, but you love the person that this outcome is against. I guess this is part of being a parent and being a lover. Many times all you can do is wait and see the result , and bare the pain that brings. Damn I knew why I liked this anime so much when I was 13. I mean nothing about pre-destination and fate had ever crossed my mind, but the pain and deliema was real.

Such a sad song. With all those deaths scenes is heartbreaking especialy Fuuma murdered Kotori & Kamui's sacrifice with that smile at the end in the series🥺😢

I saw this movie when I was just a kid and boy was I surprised. Then I picked up the manga, which is kind of still not finished. In a nutshell, in the Movie EVERYONE dies except Kamui, In the Series some die and Fuma survives. In the Manga, some die and I am pretty sure we haven’t gotten the end yet.
And we will never see it. The original manga was put on hiatus because the original publisher complain about the increase amount of gore and dark tone, plus, the original run coincides with some natural disasters on these years. Even when clamp have the rights over characters and setting, the original publisher still hold the right over X. But, regardless the medium, there is still something that always remain: Sorata is best character ever :')
I believe X is a story all about dishonest heart. The reason why Kamui can't make 結界, is because he has nothing to protect, he loses his mother, lover and best friend, his real wish is to die. Sad but true.

約２０年前ぐらいだなあ、小学生の頃全巻集めてみたなあ〜。結局18巻止まったままで売ってしまった。めっちゃ後悔。未だに続きを読みたくて待ってる。
元々は、リーダーの林（YOSHIKI）さんが、漫画Xを読んで、劇場版タイアップ曲として提供したんだよね。

子供のころ、母に連れられ近所の変な匂いのするレンタルビデオ屋、当時小学校低学年だったが絵が綺麗だからと興味本意で借りたX。強烈なトラウマだがその後漫画も買い完全に沼に。当時は本当に怖かったしカードキャプターとのギャップでショッキングだった記憶。

カードキャプターみたいに、人気があればまた続編みたいな感じで描いてくれるんだろうけど、個人的にCLAMP先生の中で1番好きなキャラが神威だから、デジタル書籍でもいいからちゃんと完結まで描いて欲しいな。

This was a truly a master piece and a tearjerker, but i can't help but think that the english dubbed did a equally great job voicing their emotions.
劇場版とTVシリーズを混ぜてあるんですね。
劇場版でこの作品を知り、原作も買っていますが、劇場版のキャストが良すぎたせいかTVシリーズは、全く違うキャストだったのが嫌で最初の数話しか見ていません。
原作で好きになった牙暁が、恐らくは時間の都合等の理由でいないのが残念ではありますが、劇場版の方が好きです。
主題歌だったこの曲もぴったりで、CDを買ったほど、今でも好きです。
原作が、コミックス18巻止まりで未完のままなのが非常に残念ですね…
