- "Inder Saxena, a money minded man from Delhi, is supposed to supervise a project in Pratapgarh. There he meets his college mate Prakash, his teacher, Professor Daya Shankar Sharma and his daughter Rama. Inder loses his heart to Rama at first sight unaware that Prakash is also in love with Rama. Prakash, who secretly admires Rama tells Inder (Amitabh Bachchan) that she is the kind of girl who can't be lured with the power of money. But, Inder has the perception that women want only money and bets to Prakash that he will lure Rama with his money. Watch who wins the bet and how it affects Rama's life.

Jurmana one of the best hindi film with great starcast. Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Mehra, Rakhee Gulzar, Farida Jalal, Dr. Shreeram Lagoo, A. K. Hangal, Asit Sen, Khesto Mukherjee and Asrani a complete collection of a successful film. Songs were emotional and touching, heavenly music. Thus the best hindi film

A very heart touching movie of that time but was not hit because Amitabh Bachchan was already a super star with his angry young man image. Hrishida a great director. Performances wise everybody was superb. R D Burman all time great music director. I wish some one come with these type of movies again.. miss those golden period...

Always liked AB films by Hrishida much more than his other famous films directed by others.
Anand, Namak Haram, Mili, Abhiman, Chupke Chupke, Jurmana Bemisaal and above all AALAP are superb films and have incredible repeat value.
In fact, all Hrishida films are superbbbbb...

After all this was Hrishikesh mukharjee movie. Acted by his favorite star Amitabh. This was 1979 movie Amitabh peak time. At that time it was said one man industry. I passes that Era.

7:20 it's funny that after Amitabh Bachchan says "Qaide se chalke" and the guy in the middle (sitting down) smiles in hearing it and then in the fight scene, he actually involves in the fight with Amitabh Bachchan.
This scene was shown in the movie Golmaal.
@@premeshdave2450 Also in Golmaal, notice that when Amitabh punches the guy, he actually uses his elbow and but in Jurmana it straight away shows the guy hits his head on the table.

@@mohm7047it's edited brother, it's the same scene and you can see once Amitabh punches him the scene is cut and the man hitting the table is next shot if you see closely

If We have to say thanks to One Great Man! That's Hrishi-Da... Hrishikesh Mukherjee Saab! Who has given the best of movies! He stands really Tall, Who has given such meaningful films! He is the Baap Dada of Emotions, Feelings, Values, Sanskrutie... I can see Hrishi-Da in every frame... And his famous re-recordings repeated in most of his emotional scenes in his movies... Anand, Mili, Jurmana etc... We salute you Hrishi-Da!!!
dear are you tamil brahmin because the description about hrishikesh mukherjee you gave is spot on real hindi language is indebted to this great soul who emphasized on culturity bringing shudh hindi words more than urdu music was indianised rather than westernized. only brahmins know to evaluate the nuances of film making i think south culture is refected in his films with emotions relating to us

Dr Shreeram Lagoo was the Best performer in the movie. Such reigned in performance very creditable. It is sad that they don’t get their due.
Dialogues by Rahi MASOOM Reza were top of the line.
My opinion that it was not the quality of direction that came out of Director HIRISHIKESH Mukerjee. This was a commercial churned out by the Director from who. We can expect much more. The song was the best part of the movie. Lata did her magic with Sawan Ke Jhoole,.
