    Here's my first demo of a synthesizer. I went through all 16 patches and played a little of each one. Please let me know if want me to do more demos. It a whole lot easier than doing a full song. I'll list all the patches below as soon as I can. Please subscribe, share, and leave feedback. I appreciate your support. Take care, Sam.

    There are pretty good sounds in this synth, I particularly like the sounds you used at 2:40, 3:47, 5:00, 5:53, 7:06, they're great. Thanks for making a demo, Sam !!

      I agree! There's plenty of awesome sounds on this vintage synthesizer. They are pretty affordable too! Thanks for watching the video Freddy. I appreciate it. Take care and have a wonderful week. Sam.

      I believe the sound at 3:47 is Fairy Tale. I remember spending a lot of time on that patch. :) I'll label it all when I get a chance. :) Thanks for watching!

    Casio were always associated with home keyboards and not pro gear therefore the CZ range were a bit underrated and overlooked, you never saw well known bands using them, it was always Roland, Korg, Yamaha. The CZs have some great sounds and were easy to program and were inexpensive - an arpeggiator would have been useful which they never had

    • @machiwoomiapoo
      @machiwoomiapoo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. I use the Roland MSQ-700 to program a sequence for my synths that lack the arpeggiator. :) Thanks for stopping by the channel. Take care, Sam.

      I love making compositions as well, but this is way easier. Don't worry, I'll make more songs in the future. Sometimes I love to just noodle on the keys and let everyone have a chance to hear the various patches. I really appreciate the positive support. I don't think I'll make it to 1,000 subscribers in time for the February 20th deadline, but I'll try. Take care and have a wonderful day! :) Sam.

    Thanks so much for the video! A request: Please play some more stuff in the low register. This was mostly in the middle or chords with both high and low (except one voice), which is great for leads, but doesn't give a good idea of how bass tones might work with this synth. I'd also like to see some info on programming. This synth is special in that it has a programmable 8-stage envelope, but I've never found a truly good video that explains that in simple terms for someone who isn't a synthophile who just happened to get their hands on one of these and wants to make unique sounds with it. Thanks!

    Along with a Roland Juno 6, I used a CZ-1000 in my first gigging band. The selection of sounds was amazing - brass, metallic, bass were all standout. But my contemporaries at the time were using DX synths, mostly DX7s, but at least one had a DX21 (which I later had myself) and another had a DX9. I was unimpressed with string, organ, and piano sounds though. The electric piano was particularly disappointing, when compared to the Rhodes sound of the DX7. And you needed a degree in rocket science to programme it. But I had my Juno 6 for pads and its uncannily accurate "jazz" organ sound. And other than the piano sounds, the 1000 provided many suitable patches for the music at the time. It was eventually stolen and I replaced it with a CZ-3000, its bigger brother. It had the same sounds as the 1000 but the inclusion of a chorus effect made a big difference to many of the sounds.

    • @machiwoomiapoo
      @machiwoomiapoo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you had a real sweet set up. I play the Juno 60 in almost everyone of my tunes. The CZ-1000 definitely has some nice sounds as well. Take care and thanks for stopping by the channel, Sam.

    Thanks for the video. I found it by accident. I still have mine in its original retail box and shipping container (which cats used as a scratching post). Never played it more than a couple times. I couldn't get into programming it so I bought a Yamaha PSR (?) with onboard speakers and lots more playability for me as a newbie. The last time the box was opened was in 2006 when I changed residences and it was in great condition with no signs of wear, but I didn't plug it in and turn it on, so I expect that it's still in like-new condition since it hasn't been exposed to much but the passage of time. I'm not planning on taking it out of its box anytime soon but I am curious as to how well it's survived all these years in storage.

    • @machiwoomiapoo
      @machiwoomiapoo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, the effects helps vintage synthesizers a lot. It's nice that most modern synthesizers come with built-in effects. I've seen the Casio 5000 before. It's pretty amazing as well. I usually gravitate toward Roland instruments though. :) Take care and have a wonderful week. Sam.

      Mine developed the same issue after about a year or so of solid gigging. I took it apart but couldn't find any broken solder points around the power socket. But I took the cable off an old multi-voltage psu and hard soldered it to the +/- points on the pcb and it worked again with no further issues. Looking back, it was probably the socket itself which was to blame, but there was no internet at the time so sourcing a replacement would've been impossible. I wonder where it is now...
