Coal flames up makes water hot and makes steam. Steam turns a turbine. The Turbine moves. The kinetic energry (movement energry) turns into electric. The electric powers stuff down a line. Done.

Why is the steam condensed after it passes through the turbines? Why not just re-heat it? Why throw away the energy in cooling towers? In my opinion, this is a fundamental flaw.
Instead of burning the coal to produce heat. Wjy cant they use the heat from the sun in giant coil heat sinks? Obviously heating the coal is the part that takes the most energy. Why cant we come up with something better? We dont evwn need coal really. Wind turbines can produxe enough energy to heat the steam.
You need lots of heat concentrated in a very small area so that the temperature and pressure of the steam are really high. Wind turbines produce electrical energy (when the wind's blowing), and this can be used immediately by electrical things.
