Love the "industry hack" of putting a left handed sleeve on a right handed club to get fade settings (when the club only provides draw settings).

How would it affect the loft? If the sleeve adapter says 15 degrees Draw will it make it 15 degrees Fade?

Is it me or is the F9 range 'the' surprise package of this year? In that 'something about it' category?

    • @doug1lau1
      @doug1lau1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'm actually surprised that Cobra hasn't gotten a lot more appreciation than it does. For average players, I think they've offered good "B+" woods in particular at fantastic prices, especially when year-end rolls around. They've kept their pricing down under market premium, and kudos to them for not amping the F9 price through the roof to match up with everyone else this year.
I'm picky about feel, even as a mediocre player, and there is something about the feel off of the strike that feels a little more "brittle", but I can undeniably drill both the F8 and F9 drivers and woods.

I'd love to see Matt hit a lower deg fairway as a driver replacement test. There's probably a good number of players that cant hit a driver and play fairway off the tee.

Looked like a tensei orange in the cobra. So at 5:30 the cobra has the gd shaft but then at 5:40 the orange is in play. The fact that I can recognize shafts may mean I’m watching too many videos!

Changed shafts and dropped the loft to 14.5. Pretty big changes that they didn't pay a lot of attention. I tested this club this week and found it to be 3-5mph slower and higher spin than Epic Flash or the M5 at the same loft. Really accurate though and face had an incredible feel.

The rails really help in a crappy lie.
I game a F8 3 Hybrid with these rails and I really like it. A little heavy in the head, but it really performs well. Off a clean lie, it is a 200 yard club for me, which is saying something (68 years old, not very limber and 90 mph swing speed). It is a dead guarantee to get the ball up and forward out of heavy deep grass.

Hi Guys, I have recently bought the Cobra F9 driver and TS3 fairway wood. I found this give me the best speed increase from 915 D4 driver and 917 D3 fairway wood.
I felt the feel is better for me of the T3 fairway wood, and better grouping on my shots. I may need a little bit dial on the shaft for the Cobra driver. Currently using stock Helium shaft. Still too much spin. Thanks for your testing videos. It is always enjoyable and informative of those products. Keep up the great works. Thank you!

I messaged ping about the g410 adapter if the left version could make a right hand 3 upright. They said no. It was their customer service so they may not know that amount of detail but that’s too bad if it’s true. I’m one of the few that prefer a 43.5” driver with a more upright lie.

Why does no one test the cobra baffler tech against competitors on thicker turf where the ball is sitting down a bit? I would think that would be helpful to know since many mid cappers would be hitting more often out of the rough.

I have the tour edition of this 3 wood and it's incredible. Shallow face in combination with the rails makes it super easy and forgiving to hit from tight lies and the rough. And it is LOOONNG. I hit it longer than previous 3 woods even if I have the loft set more like a 4 wood.

Matt, thought would share my recent experience with the 2019 Cobra F9 FWY 3-4. While shots off the centre are great, there is a big recurring problem with off centre hits off the toe/heel. Golf balls (different makes) get cut. Cobra Puma USA has admitted to me in writing that off centre hits can damage golf balls. Am putting this across to alert other potential buyers.

I noticed Matt’s ball speed is around the mid 160s with around 120 club head speed, that equates to a pretty low smash factor for a 3 wood even though it’s obvious he’s hitting them well, is that a result of the gc quad reading club head speed differently? I get low to mid 160s ball speed with my 3 wood but my club head speed is around 110.

A couple high left ones were hit higher on the face raising launch and lowering spin leading to more distance - probably not the most typical situation but just happened to occur here. Generally a draw will go further than a push

Could someone tell me what I’m missing with the “industry hack”? Loft and lie are adjusted by having a bent sleeve at the end of the shaft. Unless you have a Callaway or Titleist sleeve that has a slightly different adjustment system, see for yourself. The standard loft in an upright setting is always opposite from the standard loft with a standard lie. I think that switching shafts by dexterity simply mirrors the effect on the static loft, but not lie. For instance, with a left handed shaft and right handed head, a +1° adjustment would actually be a -1° adjustment. Could someone clarify this confusion?

That’s exactly what we said. Applies to Callaway sleeve aswell, +2 loft for RH is -2 loft for LH.

TXG Tour Experience Golf Ok. So the main question is why does the lie become flatter in a left handed shaft? Or did I miss the intention of the hack?

Ethan Cowlbeck uprt in LH is still uprt in RH.

TXG Tour Experience Golf Apologies, I’m trying to ask the right question without coming off as argumentative. At 2:46 it was said that a left handed sleeve in a right handed club allows for fade capabilities. How would that work if it wasn’t related to the lie angle?

In my opinion I see the 3 wood as a club to go a certain distance rather than a driver replacement, therefore the fact that it didn’t have a massive distance gain is a good thing.

    Another awesome review guys !
Went for a club fitting yesterday at Club Champion in NJ.
This fairway metal is by far the best fairway metal I’ve ever played!! Terrific sound/feel off the face, muted solid crunchy sound. Love it.
TrackMan numbers off the 3-4, with 10 shots my averages are: 220 yards carry, 1.46 smash, 96.6 mph clubhead speed. 140.7 mph ball speed, 2948 rpm backspin.
Got Custom fit for the 3-4 and 5-6 fairway metals (in Avalanche white) with ACCRA 2.0 200 M4 shafts
Also got custom fit for 9.0 F9 Speedback driver (in Avalanche white) with ACCRA 2.0 360 M4 yellow shaft and #3 and #4 hybrids with Accra 200H M4 shafts.
Thanks to your channel these Awesome Cobra F9’s will be in my bag this year !

I hit my F7 5-wood pretty well. Will have to arrange a test of the F9 to see if there are any gains. The F9 driver is so forgiving and if the F9 fairway woods with the CNC milled face offers the same forgiveness, then it should be a no-brainer. The avalanche color is my preferred choice, but that's due to the matte strip on the top. The hybrids all matte...so sexy. I want to buy one and then just hang it on my wall.

Great video as always! Is there a video coming where you test these woods outdoors in different turf conditions to test and see if the Baffler system adds any benefit for steeper swings?

Have about 3 feet of snow that needs to melt but eventually when the season kicks in I'm sure we'll head outside for a few filming sessions!
