  • Here's my short analysis video of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It focuses mainly on the mysterious voice that is heard during one of the Jotunheim missions. Some of us already know what the voice actually signifies. But some of us have not given much attention to it. Enjoy and share your thoughts.
    Assassin's Creed Valhalla and the soundtrack (Ezio's family) used are the properties of Ubisoft. I own nothing,
    The gameplay footages are taken from the following channels:

    If anyone is wondering, the mirror is in fact “the Eye”, the device the ISU created to talk into the future. Gunlodr is actually Minerva in reality. Please note we are viewing this through Eivors dream. While his dreams are memories of the past, they are interpreted in a way Eivor can understand. He is seeing it with a “Norse” filter. So in reality, Asgard and Jotunheim look like any other modern ISU city. Ragnarok is actually The Toba Catastrophe. In Asgard, the characters talk about prepping for Ragnorak. They are trying to find a way to survive it. I remember one of them mentioning “the humans will survive Ragnorak and outlive us”. Also if you notice in the sky, Aurora Borealis is scattered throughout the sky. At first I thought it was an environment aesthetic to make Asgard look like a magical utopia. But it was actually the early stages of the suns coronal mass ejection before the big one hits later.

      You are half correct. The mirror is in fact “the Eye”, the device the ISU created to talk into the future. Gunlodr is actually Minerva in reality. The Eye here is still in the early stages of development and Minerva is just testing it out. • @mspionage1743
      @mspionage1743 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Technically this is the same moment. Since Gunlodr is in fact Minerva she is, in a sense, calculating the future encounter in this current form and had not yet left the message for him. However, as we learn later in the game, all time moves at the same exact moment despite timelines so, for Ezio, the moment is happening in that very moment.

    as soon as i heard the voice go "who are you?" i instantly wided my eyes and yelled "EZIO!?" after the quest was completed i went back to the place and found this:
    what if, the "mirror/portal" thing the voice came out of is actualy an anomaly of the Animus itself? since we're with the 2 characters from the Desmond Series, there might be some sort of "leftovers" by desmonds travels to past lifetimes? Could the Animus generated this by the instant of given "illusion" due to the asgard visions? The Animus may have mixed 2 things together and we're actualy another lifetime that takes note of the event from AC2, even for this breath moment. Like in AC Revelations there were 2-3 Lifetimes coming together in one event, Ezio who found the event, Altair who rested at the event and Desmond who recieved the true message from that event.
    It could be possible things like this got sorted out by the Animus.
    yeeahh... ac is life

      Actually the mirror is "the eye" device that minerva used to talk into to the future, and gunlodr is a representation of minerva. She even said, "Are you there Prophet?, Can you hear me?" which is exactly what she said when talking to ezio at the end of AC2, and "Who are you" is exactly what ezio answered. AC Valhalla is really one of the best ac games in terms of lore and it reconnects alot of loose ends of previous ac's.

    I love how in the Asgard missions you're really playing memories of the First Civilization. Gunlodr is Minerva, Suttingr is Jupiter, and Hyrrokin is Juno, the memories are just filtered through Eivor's Norse upbringing. I thought that was a neat twist.

      Is Loki Aita then? Because he dies

    • @AverageJoe87
      @AverageJoe87 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@aks19880 Aita is Juno's husband, he became a sage through Juno meddling with the six different means of salvation that Jupiter, Minerva, and other Isu were working on to stop or contain the solar flare. Aita thus reincarnated throughout many centuries, Bartholomew Roberts (Black Bart) and Count St. Germain being two of his incarnations.
      Loki was Aletheia's husband and part of the Aesir; a group of Isu that, at least from how I interpreted the Asgard sequences in Valhalla, were not well liked by the other Isu. Aletheia is the Isu that spoke to Kassandra through the Staff of Hermes in AC Odyssey.
      Odin found a way to save his clan by downloading their consciousness into Yggdrasil, just as the solar flare hit earth. Loki snuck in, killed one of Odin's people and uploaded his consciousness to Yggdrasil.
      Basically, Odin, Tyr, and Loki are also sages just like Aita because they were reincarnated as Eivor, Sigurd, and Basim.....but Basim still retained all of his memories from his Isu life.

      @@AverageJoe87I read somewhere that Basim actually underwent the same thing Sigurd did, Which awakened the memories. In the game, Fulke's torture, most specifically the amputation of his arm triggered his Týr memories. The same thing happened to Basim some time back, where he experienced a terrible traumatic event, awakening his Loki memories. It's not that he kept the memories, unlike the others, it's just that they awakened in the same manner as they did with Sigurd.

      @maxm.m.7219 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@welsh-cymru1588He was introduced in the comics, actually, and had a hand in killing Juno for good. In case you're confused; remember when they were building up that whole thing with Juno being a big antagonist? Well, they resolved that in a comic set before AC Origins. Basically, Assassins and Templars temporarily work together against a third group trying to resurrect Juno. Juno gets Elijah kidnapped, because she needs him to either help upload her consciousness into the Isu body clone, or she needed him to help perfect the DNA to create the clone in the first place (I can't remember exactly). Basically, Juno gets uploaded into the new body and becomes flesh, there's a fight between her and everyone, Elijah does something that helps kill her, and the truce between them all is over.
      (Btw, the comic is interesting because Otso Berg plays quite a big role in it, and because Layla's teammates from AC Odyssey are in it, and do stuff (Layla herself isn't in the comic, because this is when she still worked for Abstergo).

    after finishing it, the Asgard arc is actually one of the smartest parts of the game, as it shows how someone would try and comprehend the First Civilisation by replacing the high tech with norse architecture and mythology. Between all the grinding and conquering of England, the game actually feels like a very faithful sequel story-wise to other assassin's creed games.

      @@wooble6222 To add to this: The Atlantis DLC for Odyssey is pretty much the same thing as the Asgard storyline in Valhalla. The whole DLC just further strengthens your theory, as it's very similair to Asgard except it's all with a "Greek filter" due to it being interperted by Alexios/Kassandra. The biggest difference however is that Alexios/Kassandra know it's a simulation, or rather that they are viewing the Isu history as it happened. How/why artifacts were created, how the humans were created, the story behind Adam/Eve and how human/Isu hybrids came to be (why some humans have traces of Isu DNA, like Desmond, they're all descendants from Adam and Eve)
      I think Aletheia even says this exactly, "this is all a simulation, tailored to you so that you can understand it more easily", or something like that.
      I find the whole of the AC universe and story to be criminally underrated. It's awesome writing for those who want to delve deep into it. Instead we just get haters who don't care at all about the work put in by the devs and only say "buT tHiS isN'T asSasSinS CreED, PlS giFf EZio bAcK"......

    I didn’t know it was Ezio. But a part of me thought about Gunlodr and something was familiar about her voice. It wasn’t until I thought back to AC2, and I realized Gunlodr is Minerva. That mirror she was speaking into was Minerva’s way of reaching out to the future to leave messages. So, the people seeing the current trilogy as only just barely Assassin’s Creed didn’t notice the subtle Easter Eggs to previous games. And the biggest was Hyrokkin talking about her husband and her need to use the Mead of Yggdrasil to revive him in a new body. She’s Juno and her husband is Aita. The Mead is how the Isu were able to extend their lives by being reincarnated into new bodies, and therefore create new Sages. A part of me is thinking the different colored eyes we saw in Roberts and Germain is a side effect of Odin removing his eye as a sacrifice to Mimir. And that ended up being passed on to the Sages across time.

    Ahh this is cool. I was confused about why odin and company were living like this if they were in fact isu. We understand from the beginning that eivor is important even as the game tries to throw us off by making Sigurd seem like he’s the more important character. It’s cool how they did this whole Asgard arc. I really enjoyed this game. Had some things I wish were different but overall I like it.

    As someone who has started playing AC with Syndicate and has since played Unity, Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, the modern day story sometimes still confuses me. I’ve tried reading into it with the AC Wiki, but to no avail. I do think that with the introduction of Layla, the story got a soft reboot and her story is a lot easier to follow. I was even a little surprised to find Desmond at the end of the game. What I like about Valhalla is that the story and the modern timeline actually coincide. I know the point of “going back in time” is to save the modern world, but I always felt like the history part stood on its own and only incidentally coinceded. But Eivor’s story is very narrowly connected to what Layla is all about, and I like that.
    Sorry for this rambling lmao

    • @Dark_Randy
      @Dark_Randy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Frankly if you really like the games, it's worth it to play them all, because the story interconnection through transmedia (even though some of it can be questionable) is on some next level shit.
      The thing about the AC saga is that yes, it has lots of games and each game keeps adding layers of previously unknown info to both sides of the stories (Animus and Modern Day/Recent History) so you'll always be learning new things.
      ❗Slight spoilers, mostly general information on the lore about the modern day "characters" in post Desmond saga ahead:
      The Modern Day in Unity and Syndicate is not as good of an introduction to the lore, since it's just video footage. After AC3's modern day, the Assassins went off the grid and a group known as the Initiates started rebuilding a lost database caused by the power outages from the solar flares. By Unity (2014) the Initiates had joined up with the Assassins to dig up memories here and there, and to recruit outside uncompromised sources: a.k.a. You, the player (in-universe) who's using a Helix Entertainment console system.
      That's essentially who you are in Unity and Syndicate. The Helix was a cloud system based commercial Animus that acted as a home console. By late 2012 Abstergo had figured out how to relive someone else's memories through DNA sampling (Project Legacy, Subject 0), so they just advanced the tech.
      This is why in Brotherhood & Revelations' Multiplayer Liberation, 4 and onwards you're playing in an Animus as someone not related (as far as we know ofc) to these "ancestors", unlike Desmond in 1 to 3's single player story where he's reliving memories from his own bloodline.

      @mike_gusta2994 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like the other person said, it is definitely worth it to play other AC games. If you want to understand more about the deep lore and ISU, i suggest playing through AC 1, 2, AC Brotherhood,AC Revelations and AC3. these are the ones that give you the most lore from the ISU and Artifacts of Eden while playing the game instead of searching for lore. The games in-between those and Unity, ( Like AC Liberation, AC Black flag, AC Rogue ) are more focused on gameplay than lore unless you want to search and read a lot. The lore in those games are hidden in computers or notes Etc. while the other games literally show it in the gameplay.

I thought it was pretty cool

    I don't know if the moment is the same, after Minerva leaves, she cannot continue her speaking to Ezio, but maybe second time or some kind of registration in ISU technology as bridge more powerful than Animus between Future and Past. It is interesting why Minerva knows Desmond (maybe by the same way), also knowing after 2012 Desmond's Sacrifice and becoming The Reader, maybe the Animus open the same Virtuality as Yggdrassil, as they check also another possibilities (Calculations), It is also Interesting why Basim become possibly full Loki, and Eivor can become another person than Havi/Odin... Maybe Aita's reincarnations are also based on something similar as AEsir
