Fun fact, top 8 had all previous GoML Ultimate winners. Sonix from last year, Onin from 2022, and Tweek from 2019 and 2020 online. So this makes Tweek a 3x GoML champion
Edit: There were also a handful of runbacks from prior GOMLs. Riddles vs Big D happened at GOML 2022, Riddles vs Tweek happened at GOML 2023, and Big D vs Onin happened at GOML 2022
And they were all in the top 4 (with riddles)

Leo losing to syrup, this makes either Syrup or Onin against riddles (probably Onin), then tweek vs Onin grands, IF leo deafeted sonix, we would have Onin winning a supermajor after his bad 2023

Seems like Sonix responded to the fact that people who don't like watching him play dislike the timeouts with Sonic in *_STELLAR FASHION._* Those Donkey Kick & Back Air kills were unlike anything I've seen.
Facts, Sonix vs Light and Sonix vs Leo were banger sets. It so much different when Sonix is the one putting the pressure on the opponent and it makes for good spectator matches.
To be honest I'd rather watch Sonix than Onin, Syrup or Riddles

I think the funniest thing about this top 8 was Riddles wearing a pink headband that made it look like he had the worst hairline of all time
as a diddy main who was previously struggling in mus like steve and pac man, this run from Tweek gave me motivation to keep going. Good shit to Tweek/Eminem/Enel for winning GOML and for popping off hard

Sonix gets 2nd at yet another tournament. Consistency at its finest, but still not what Sonix is looking for.
Don’t all competitors want more than second place I know that tweek wanted to win that tournament.
He'll get what he's looking for, if Riddles didn't get the upset I think he would have had it this time.
If you want to catered to a new audience then yeah make a separate video 4 sf6. If not just add it

I think it's safe to say Tweek has fully adapted to the new meta. All of the other former top players that now struggle to top-8/win tournaments just haven't picked up the right character(s) or strategies.
On another note, it's disheartening how these tournaments are so hype during the top 128-64-even-32. However, the top 24 onward is typically heartbreak into an "oh no...this top 8 is going to be hard to watch".
It happens almost every major now and it's just tiresome now. One more patch?

Tweek always loses to Steve, He almost lost to syrup whos maybe the 6th best Steve or sometging, but if He can dodge Steve He can win tournaments
I had a lot of fun watching the top 8 of low tide city 2024, kagaribi 12 and battle of bc 6, not just top 128 and 64, to name a few recent example. Get on my level X was a little bit of a snoozefest as early as top 32, but it's not ''almost every major'' imo.

Normally it’s just Sonix who makes a top 8 boring but having Syrup and Onin really just killed any enjoyment for most of the top 8
