    Heart to heart, It has barley been a year since I graduated and passed the NCLEX. I watched ALL of her videos as I traveled through nursing school and then again as I neared to my NCLEX testing date. She helped me tremendously! I love her to pieces. My heart warmed as I looked for a review on steths and see her. She is awesome!

    Wow, this vid was so helpful! I'm gonna start nursing school next fall, and I had no idea for what to look for in a stethoscope. Thanks a lot for the info.

    Hi!! I'm Cherry, A Student Nurse from the Philippines. Thanks for this video, it will probably help me in choosing the best one for my nursing studies, since I'm just starting in nursing school I think I would go first for the cheap one because I'm lack of finances to support my needed tools in nursing. The Nursing Course here in the Philippines is so expensive 🙁, but this is my dream profession so I must study hard despite the hardships that I'll go through so that I'll be able o fulfill my dream someday and I'm planning to work abroad as a nurse after I graduate. Just got subscribed on your channel

      Yes, both are great....just try them out to see which one you like :) Thank you for watching the video, Rebecca!

    I know this video is a bit old but the prices are still very much the same.
    I had a stethoscope (Littmann but I forgot what kind) my brother bought for me when I became a medical assistant. He'd had my name engraved on it, too.
    Well, I lost it at a clinical & needed a new one. Since I'm in my final semester of nursing school, money is tight. I got a Littmann Lightweight II SE for $40. It has a plastic bell and the color I picked was cheaper than the other colors (price was my main priority). But the quality is pretty good compared to my fancier stethoscope.
    Thanks for the run-down of all the "bells" and whistles!

    I use a very generic stethoscope. I haven't had any issues hearing heart, lung, and abdominal sounds. I am not saying that Littmanns aren't good but I don't see the need to spend money on something I don't need. I feel like I am the only one who feels this way.

    For the Littmann Classic II SE, how many inches should it have for a nursing student?

    id want to go with the littmann they seem to be more high end and all nurses that ive seen have them

    I am a bit stingy with buying expensive stethoscope because I'm not sure if they are worth it? I will be in nursing school in 2018. I'm in New Zealand and they are double the price and I volunteered in the cardiology department and I loved it.

      @RegisteredNurseRN  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you are first starting out go with a basic one...you don't need anything fancy. Really when you are beginning you just need something you can hear with and the expensive ones have all these extras options that you won't use until you have experience.

    So for checking heart beat of pregnant rabbits (THICK fur) the ultra scope may be the best? Guessing the fur would act like a thick dressing over a human.

    Have you ever used this Prestige Clinical Cardiology? It's nearly impossible to find any real information about it (as far as reviews).

    Hello! Which of these would you consider to be the most comfortable for all day use?

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello :) They are all great! Personally, I would go with with one of the Littmans or the Prestige....it all depends on your budget and what specialty you are working in. Also, are you working in a hospital or in clinicals right now? If so, try to pay attention to what the other nurses or doctors are using and ask if you can try it out for a second....I always try before I buy lol. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching the video!

    Hi I'm a nursing student. I have a hard time hearing with normal stethoscope because of the tubbing and background noises, do you know which stethoscope gives the best sound quality? I'll appreciate a response.

      I'm having a hard time choosing between the littman cardiology and the ultrascope.

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello :) My best advice is to try to find someone who has one of these stethoscopes at clinicals or at work and use it. Everyone hears differently because the anatomy of our ears plays a big role (everyone is different). The stethoscopes you are considering are both great quality so there isn't an issue with that but you want to make sure they feel comfortable to your ear canals and the sound quality is good. I hope that helps :)

    Hello Sarah! I've recently came across your channel and watched your videos talking about tips to buy the best stethoscope. Can you give an opinion on Littman Classic iii stethoscope? From what I've learnt it's an improved Littman Classic ii S.E stethoscope.

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +MarianaElizabethEspo Thank you very much for your question :) Yes, the Classic III is a great stethoscope and it is similar to the S.E. Classic II. The main difference is that it has the tunable diaphragm on both sides for both the pediatric and adult patient (S.E. II only has it on one side for adult pts) which is a nice feature and it's tubing is more durable to skin oil and alcohol (which breaks the tubing down over time) than the S.E. II.
      It is a little bit more expensive than the SE II but nothing major. It is definitely a great stethoscope you can use as a student and transition to a nurse without having to buy another one. I debated including it in the video but instead chose the S.E. due to the price and wanted to include the Cardiology Littmann for a higher grade stethoscope. I hope that helps :)

      RegisteredNurseRN Thank you very much! I've looked in lots of medical forums and youtube channels of nursing/med students and I never found a review of this type of stethoscope. I loved this stethoscope since I have seen it and know I'm sure that if I'm going to buy a new one I'm totally going on this one.

    What is the difference between the littmann classic ii se stethoscope and the littmann classic iii stethoscope? Please explain because I have a littmann classic ii se and wanted to know if this other one is better?

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The classic III has a small tunable diaphragm that can be used for peds while the SE II doesn't appear to have this. So, it has a tunable diaphragm on each side while the SE II doesn't. The SE II does have a tunable diaphragm but just not one both sides. I would try to find someone at clinicals or work that has either one and try it out. Both seem to get the job done...depends on your budget and usage.

      Hello Angela :) Thanks for watching the video. I've never personally used an ADC 609 so I won't be very helpful. May be some else on here could help? I suggest trying to find someone who has this type of stethoscope and try it out. Also, check out the reviews on Amazon.com about the ADC. Happy New Year!

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello :) I would buy a stethoscope you can afford and hear with! Most nursing schools just give a suggestion on what you should buy but if you can't afford it or hear with it, buy something else. Not everyone can hear best with a Littmann....while others can't hear good with a Prestige....it depends on you. Best wishes!
