Got your book, "The Tao of Craft"! Your research, understanding, perspective and explanations are on the level of scholars. I appreciate and thank you for the hard work and bridging the understanding of Easter Esoterica to western speakers. Looking forward to your upcoming book and videos! Happy New Year!

Thank you! For all your work. I have more than enjoyed your insight. As a practicing (and old timey!) Western traditional witch I have found through you connecting information that have been missing from my concepts. As a young white American man that found a home in the esoteric and occult practices, I found in the Tao de Jing - as much as I could understand it - a unifying divine view that I have held to my heart throughout my adult life. Western esotericism followed for decades with coven and personal practice and gnosis, but I don't know Taoism and my environment did not offer good soil. Your work does, though. Thank you. You are more than a little inspiring for me in my craft.

This was a great presentation. While I can read tarot and runes, I've found that I resonated far more with the I-Ching. The only version of it that I've ever owned (and currently have) is the one by Wilhelm/Baynes. I'm looking forward to your upcoming release!
Also, I loved your walkthrough with the yarrow stalks. Although I use coins, I had always wanted to learn that method. But trying to find a clear explanation of it was an unexpected challenge. So, I really appreciated the time and effort you put into making that content as clear as possible.

Very insightful, thank you! I will be checking out more of your work!
The hexagrams can be used to read human faces and emotions. Each line corresponds with a feature, the top two lines are the eyebrows, the middle two is the eyes and the bottom two are the mouth.
There are four different emotional types to each feature, the combination gives you a hexagram.
Meaning the IChing contains all the emotions of the human face, including how it changes. Every facial expression is contained through the logic system of the Iching. You can further interpret what a person’s emotions mean through the characterization of that hexagram.
Basically the human face mimics emotions, those emotions can be equated to the logic system in the iching.
I didn’t discover this, but I did learn how to use it.
Sorry this probably doesn’t make sense and its hard to explain without visuals!
Learning the Iching is a lifelong process and I wanted to share what I know since you are sharing what you know, since the better I learn the Iching, the better i can read faces and psychoanalyze people

You are amazing, Ms Wen. I listened to one of your videos and went and bought you I Ching book. Can't wait for it to arrive. Now I am sure you already know that you are amazing but let me tell you how by telling you how amazing I am heheh. I studied philosophy in university before I did a Dr. Tcm program and have been practicing martial arts for over 20 years now while studding chi gong and nei gong and reading on buddhism and daoism and collecting ancient texts as a hobby. I have no shortage of books, I can hardly keep up as it is and yet I am afraid this was one of the most comprehensive exposes that I have listened to. it was a different video of yours i watched and i am about to watch this one but thought i'd comment first. Now there has been times when I thought oh now i am really starting to get it but listening to your explanation gave me a new insight I was entirely oblivions to. impossible! - the arrogant side of me is delighted. what a dream it is that there is someone like you out there who is working so hard while maintaining grace and lithe. thank you so much for your contribution. I live in Vancouver. Where do you live? I don't expect you'd answer that. There is quite a few videos you have made im happy like a kid in a candy store and cannot wait to read possibly everything you've published. thank you very much once again (ive never gone and bought someone's book after watching one video i don't think :) there is a first for everything)

Fascinating. I am 30 year practioner of the I Ching, self taught through the Wilhelm translation, and the impression I had arrived at was more along the lines as the text was a tool of navigation rather than divination, something one might use as a compass or a barometer- obviously the compass symbolism is strong and mirrors other imagery from other cultures. I find in particularly useful in this context but many of these others seem to really miss the point.

While your level of knowledge on the subject (irregardless of mine) baffles me, I am intrigued and was somehow able to follow along with the visuals and audio..It looked like the answers to everything anyone ever wanted to know. Is this akin to the Akashic Record? I will be following you much more seriously after I've had some rest. I picked up a copy of your book on I Ching today and my husband is Korean from Korea and I asked him about how this is used (or not) and thought of in Korea. He said well we have used that traditionally at times sometimes adopted by Korean shamans, but many young people view it nowadays as “old fashioned” and a philosophical text necessary so not really beneficial for people in modern times.
He said his grandfather used I Ching in his work in energy consultation (kind of like feung shui) in Joseon Dynasty Korea. I think younger ppl in Korea have this view of it. It is still used sometimes by “fake” shamans my husband said, so maybe it has that dual off-putting stigma of old fashioned and fakeness?

Hi Benebell, do you put faith in the rules for multiple change lines given by various authors that determine which change line is primary . For example rules passed down by Master Yin (handed down by Alfred Huang,) or Alfred Huang. As an example, Master Yin gives:
    1. If there are two moving lines-one yin and the other yang-consult only the yin moving line.
    2. If the two moving lines are both yin or both yang, consult the lower one.
    3. If there are three moving lines, consult only the middle one.
    4. If there are four moving lines, consult only the upper of the two nonmoving lines.
    5. If there are five moving lines, consult only the other, nonmoving line.
    6. If six lines are all moving, consult the Decision of the new gua, the approached gua.
    7. Since there is a seventh invisible line in the first and second gua, Qian and Kun, for these gua consult the seventh Yao Text, called All Nines or All Sixes. [If six lines are all moving.]
Do you have any faith in these guidelines?

What matters the most is your faith and how well a process works for you.

Great video and presentation yet again. Thank you soooo very much. I'm very much looking forward to your book. In the meantime, here's a question: i noticed that you have a sigil drawn over the Lo Shu square. Is this also used in reference to I Ching?

If one is using the I Ching then active magical practice, perhaps. In the specific case of the video I was just recycling the image slide from the previous video. 😂 And the previous video did talk about the sigil formations. This is just me trying to get extra mileage out of my graphic design assets. 😂😁

Hi. I'm looking forward on buying your book. Actually I was just going to do it, but I need the money. You said tarot began as a game and was later repurposed.
I am initiating in Gupta Vidya here in Eubiose Society, in Brazil, *very* serious one, and a person from there said in a speech it was the other way around. The card game came to be so cards would be popularized in order to help pass the tradition on, and the real meaning is the occult. It was inserted by gypsies. Gypsies in Portuguese are called "ciganos", and this word is said to be originated from Dzyan, like the Tibetan book. Gypsies would be people degregated from Agartha for something they had done, and had to come here to the surface to spread these things. You also have tales about gypsies taking babies. This is because they would change babies from "important" families with babies from Agartha, who had a specific mission here. Important people like Mozart come to be like this. Very, very interesting. Do you know Gupta Vidya?
    Cheers.

Is there a reason checker and chess boards have 64 squares, could a person use those for divination? Just curious.

Currently still using Richard Wilhelm translation (will use yours for sure). Previously used the Alfred Huang for some time, but started to lose a bit of interest.
Curious to know if you have any takes on each of them. Much love.

What happens when you have four or five changing lines? I've gotten that a few times and I've always struggled to interpret the judgement because which changing line is pertinent in this situation?

This might sound silly, but i can't help but wonder if being itchy is an alternate thing that also happens. Because things happening at a micro level sometimes it's carried out by mites? I can't unsee the Bible where things end in ite.
