It's great to see someone transparent. It would be great to see your trailer setup.
Everyone is always so secretive about the costs, but it's good info to get out. I'll knock out the trailer video here soon! Thanks!
Trailer vid is up, better late than never!
Camper and toy hauler review next woohoo
Trailer video is up!
Really good video with the insights. The old racing proverb that "in order to make a little money in racing you need to start with a lot of money," still applies
It's been a while since I raced WERA but purchasing a transponder paid off in the long run, it's unfortunate that it's a high upfront cost. Do the non-subscription models still work with WERA?
Thanks for the feedback. I should probably go ahead and invest in my own transponder as well. I'm pretty sure you must have the subscription to run them at this point.
I feel your pain! i never keep track when i go racing for the weekend
I didn't keep track of anything until we started making these videos.. The pain is so real now ha
Pirellis are about 450 a set and a great tire
The Dunlop's have been great to me, but I'm itching to try the Pirellis.
Might consider supermoto.
I road raced for years. The tires are a big expense. Moto slicks last about three rounds. Four races per round. 330 to 500 a set. Might have some tracks closer, too
Supermoto is a solid option (dirt bikes too), tire costs are by far the most expensive part of the sport over time. I will never, ever, ever, add up everything I've spent on tires.
no beer? Interested in your trailer set up. Find a buddy split the costs of travel saves a lot.
Can't afford such luxuries as beer haha! Splitting the travel costs would certainly help, I'll consider that for the next round.
Not to hi jinx this comment. But I got a good video of trailer setup/sleeper th-cam.com/video/xJbiMoBHlVk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PqTq49z7ACWMcfFN
If someone in the future views this and the cost scares you. Do the following get a smaller bike to race R3 for example. The tires will last longer and there also cheaper. Secondly start or join an endurance team. Endurance racing per lap cost is the best bang for your buck.
Great advice! Thanks for sharing.
This is probably why the r7 is so popular too
The bike
@@popdatclutch3010 R7's are great a choice as well.
I always wanted to road race.i used to be a canyon carver...then i grew up.with traffic and distracted drivers i have no interest to even ride on the road any longer. I sold my bike.06 gsxr750.with work who has time to even do a track day.
I feel that! I gave up street riding a couple years ago after many close calls. The track is a safer and controlled environment, and if the worst does happen there is medical staff and an ambulance minutes away. Find some time (and another bike) then get after racing, you'll love it!
👍.I used to live less than 30 min.from sonoma raceway in no.cal.but moved to Colorado I don't think there is even a track close .
Ya. Def hurts adding it all up. Helps once you get little faster and maybe get some tire support or even just support/discounts on parts.
Anything will help at this point, that's certainly the next step.
Not sure why you factored in food. You have to eat no matter what :). You also ate super cheap compared to most good job.
Eating out adds up quick over the weekend, homemade stuff tastes better anyways!
Dirty bikes are the answer. Come to the woods.
Funny you should mention that, new video coming soon!
3:14 ? Just gonna ignore the haint?
That was edited in haha
