Canadian DHL pro tip: you can refuse "their services" and just pay customs. If they send you the notice when the package hits customs you can ask for the price and pay it direct to customs or if they do the sketchy send you a invoice after you can call them and tell them you didn't have the opportunity to refuse their services and they will adjust the invoice to just customs.

I just recieved two figures from AmiAmi pre-owned and I payed $205 for shipping via DHL to California and luckily I don't have to pay for customs so I DEFINITELY feel your pain for the extra charges. DHL in Canada is such a rip off but I understand paying the extra to recieved your precious merch. I'd pay the extra $$ too! 😁
Glad most places have lifted EMS shipping because DHL is very expensive. Sure it's a great service but you pay out the wallet for it. Good customer service, extremely fast shipping, insurance protection/replacement, tracking, but you are paying that premium price. It just sucks when it's the only good option vs SAL or Sea Mail which takes months & doesn't even offer tracking.
Sorry if you have spoken on this, but BigBadtoyStore gets most of the same anime figures/statues that amiami or rightstuf do, and they are based in NA, maybe their shipping is a better deal? Or maybe you already know about them. :P
