Love this. I substitute teach and I have two bags I switch between. Both are Kate Spade. I have the personal size of the Day Designer planner. One thing I always make sure I have in my bag is a snack or two. Especially on days when I have to go to two schools and won’t be getting a lunch break.
I’m a pre k instructional assistant and I always have to have bandaids! For every scrape and bruise, they know they can come to me for a hug and a bandaid to make them feel better ❤️

I carry a backpack because, after 7+ years of trial and error, I realized I preferred them to over the shoulder totes/bags as they keep my hands free and don't pull my back out of whack by only putting pressure on one shoulder. I always carry a water bottle and an umbrella with me, personally, and I stick my school ID in one of the outside pockets as well. For me, I make sure to have pens (an entire pouch of them, LOL), chapstick, hand lotion, gum/mints, and a wristlet that I keep my cards/money in to make it easy if I need to stop and run errands after work!

But for real, my daily school/work/daily bag essentials -- Glossier balm dot com, gum or mints, hair tie/scrunchy, emergency supplies (aka ibuprofen, pads/tampons) (and for school, obviously my planner and my ridiculous collection of pens)
I think it depends what your school requires you to bring. I did not bring more than this and maybe a binder or notebook with me! I think it’s perfect :)
