Take a tip from an accountant: You should put your months across the page. For example put Jan amounts in column C, Feb amounts in column D, Mar amounts in in column E. You don't need a running total column like you have currently in column E. This will make it easier to compare categories across different months if you have the amount for each month in different columns.
With the greatest of respect, f*ck people on TikTok commenting on how much you spend! You are very generous sharing your finances so openly to help people. How you spend and how much is really none of their business! x
I know ! Once in a lifetime month for me! (Although hopefully not actually once in a lifetime. I’m manifesting that I can make this kinda money monthly soon 😂😂😂)
Congratulations on the new job, your openness and honesty online, and the success of your social media presence. I hope you and your family find a lovely home together.
Congratulations on the new job and making great contributions to your house savings! 🎉 Defo make more videos. Been waiting on this one! No childcare costs? That’s a win x
Thank you! We are starting nursery next week but just 2 days so will be mostly covered by the gov hours. I will have to pay for meals, breakfast club and summer holiday club too. So will build that in soon! Xx
@@mischapannell oh nice. Same over here. 2 days a week for our toddler, now being subsidised by gov help, which is a major relief! All the best with nursery xx
Interesting seeing someone else budgeting and well done on sharing. I make a budget as the start of the year and then track my expenditure against that each month. Your Monzo account seems to be a bit of black hole. You might be able to help your house savings if you broke that down some more. You really need to put about 20k into Premium Bonds if you want a reasonable change to get a consistent return. A small amount is just gambling that your bond number may come up (still better than the lottery). I am on the other end of the journey planning for retirement soon and have already paid off my house. Good luck on finding something suitable.
I was positive about my increased income until I got a lovely HMRC enveloped demanding over 5k by the end of January 2025. So my 212 Debit card is being used as a savings account to at least get 5% on that sum before I have to pay it. Last year I got a 1600 quid rebate which my wife spent on a water softener having decided she was fed up cleaning hard water from the taps. How can tax really swing so wildly from owing me to demanding more? and I'm PAYE!
Hey Mischa, love you’re video congrats on the double pay and also making your 1st 1k on social media. for photo storage I really recommend getting Google photos it’s the best for storing photos and all pictures you take on your iPhone can automatically be downloaded and backed up to your Google drive I pay about £1.79 for 100GB of storage it’s definitely worth looking in to !
Did you give your new company a P45 when you changed roles? If not watch for if you got your monthly tax free savings allowance on both salaries in one month. If you did you'll be liable for extra tax in the next tax year when HMRC catch up. This happened to me when I last changed jobs, had a nice double pay month but then had to pay back an extra £150/m tax for the next year to settle up!
We don’t currently pay anything. He’s about to start and we get 15 hours free and he’s only going to start on 2 days. So we will have to pay for food and maybe breakfast club, but it’s shouldn’t be too too bad
Hey nice video, great breakdown, really interesting how you cut your salary - question, where is your day to day spending for groceries etc, do you keep that seperate?
Thanks! That’s all contained in the ‘monzo’ figure. So £700 for groceries and day to day spending for the month. I put it onto my Monzo card to keep it separate :)
@@mischapannell Thanks for the quick response, this is really helpful and something I need to implement, the simplicity of this tracking is great, doesnt make it so much of a chore!
Have you ever thought about sharing your tiktoks to Instagram? I have just binge watched them on tiktok but I dont really use tiktok :) Just thought could provide another income stream?
In all honestly the main reason I don’t is because it feels like people who know me will find them more easily there 😂 I’ve convinced myself no one from past lives look at my TH-cam or tiktok 🙃🤣 but I see the Instagram Reels algorithm is so good at the moment I’m just a bit scared 🥲🙃

Good idea! That’s how I have my savings set up in the other page 📃

Where do groceries go?
All variable spending goes through my Monzo card. I top it up with how much I want to spend on groceries, transport etc for the month !

@@mischapannell ahh I get that! It’s why I don’t share any financial stuff on my socials even though I’d love to do more budgeting videos ❤️🩹
It’s hard isn’t it! Instagram just makes me anxious lol. Maybe I need to start a new page, but it recommends you to people you know 🙃🤣
