That was an atmospheric acetylene torch, wasn't it?

Yes. Most guys including me call it a turbo torch which is a brand name

I like Trenton equipment. They gave me a beanie so I like em.
Let the silfos short pieces stick on the joint, grab a new stick, stick it to the short piece, continue brazing. Foreman around here sees little pieces around, somebody's getting talking to.

@@Halligan142 Have you ever tried running it on propane?

No. Propane burns cooler and will require a different regulator, hoses, and tips. The gasses are not interchangeable although they do make a propane version.

@@Halligan142 Back about '96, I was helping a buddy clear all the junk, the former owner had left in the barn, out. I fount a box with 2 MC tanks, several gauges (MC, B, R) and a Uniweld TH3 or TH3B handle, (No tips, no hoses, and I'm not sure what the difference between those 2 handles is.) Anyway, buddy gave them to me because the were no use to him, I traded 1 of the MC tanks for an R tank to make a nice little portable welding kit, (I already had 2 sets of Harris torches & gauges for my full-sized tanks.) Anyway a few years ago I found a tip that fits, at a flea-market, and the other day I finally started monkeying with it. I set up a Propane welding gauge, a hose, and found that a flame that looked like a BIC lighter, and one that blew itself out was only like a 1/2 a degree turn in the gauge... Which spawned the question...

what type of silver phos copper brazing rod are you using in this video? 15% or 6%?

@@Halligan142 any particular reason why you chose to use expensive 15% rod? in the video the rod was flowing so nicely. also have you ever got an opportunity to try Harris Blockade? it is also a self fluxing brazing rod and it has the lowest melting point amongst all types of phosphorus fouxed copper brazing rods.

Both will work fine but the higher silver content makes for a more ductile joint. Also the higher silver makes its liquid state a little thicker and easier to gap fill when you're right on the edge of the melting point and it lets it get really watery when higher into it's melting point to be able to get sucked in by capillary action on large fittings.
