Atlus Secretly Revealed Tokyo is in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The world of Metaphor: ReFantazio is one that still holds a lot of secrets as it is still a while before the game will release in the Fall of 2024, but if we look closely at what Atlus has provided us in trailers and on their website. So today we are going to take a deep dive into the United Kingdom of Euchronia for us to see what hints they have left for us regarding the Utopia of the people of Euchronia. How this secretly resembles modern day Tokyo. And what the relevance of the Elda Tribe in all of this as we unravel the plot behind who murdered the king and set the events of the game into action in the first place which has resulted in the Royal Tournament. Are the Homos truly the enemy? Or are the nation's elites the greatest threat to the world?

yeah john i think i agree. i mean the original name of the game was supposed to be Metaphor re fantasy , and Atlus loves to have their fantasy worlds that bleed into the real one so who knows. i just cant wait to play it and see for myself.

I can totally see that! But I'm personally hoping that this is sully disconnected from SMT or Persona narratively. Don't get me wrong, they're incredible. But I feel like there's so much potential here that I kind of want to Metaphor to just be it's own thing.

@@ThoughtBubbleYT well, Hashino was the director of Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga before Persona. I am super hyped for this game and maybe they go the DDS route instead as something completely different. An HD remaster of DDS would be something nice too remind people to show Atlus made and makes great games besides Persona and SMT.

Without going too deep into it, the first teaser trailer where the narrator describes the book (along with what now seems to be the live-action archetype descriptions). A group of tribes where many are racist to each other find themselves in today's world, thinking there's perfect unity and harmony because... the book says so. One tribe is ostracized because they don't follow the same religion (the ones with three eyes and wear masks) and are considered pagans. Euchronians' first day seeing how people of other religions treat each other (or even different sects of religions).

I don't think we end up in japan at the end. I think the world will end up looking more similar to japan but the game seems like it wants to tell you "the grass is not greener"

I can agree with that. I don't necessarily think the whole party will ended up in Japan, mainly just the Protagonist and Seeker Supreme.

Even when it was announced that it was going to be a traditional fantasy title way back in 2017, I just assumed that it would somehow be connected to Tokyo much like Shin Megami Tensei IV was simply because Atlus can't help themselves. :)
