    Great piece!
    As other have said (in a very mean way, unfortunately), there's always room for improvement, but for a 34-minute piece composed in two weeks by a young composer (and self-taught too, I think?) that's super impressive. I've been composing (self-taught) for something like 5 years and my longest piece so far is 14 minutes, and it's a mess

      @@yoavshati Thanks for the support! I am a self taught composer, and I have been composing since my 6th grade year (currently going into 8th) if you wanted to know! I wish you luck with your compositions as well

    At the risk of being patronising, people are being incredibly hateful considering you're THIRTEEN. I'm twenty-five and work as a composer and musical director. My compositions were like this in my early-double-digit ages. Looking back on them I don't like them, but one shouldn't ignore how impressive it is just to have the dedication to write something this long, especially at a young age. I think your problem is you're writing in one idiom by form and another by content. But - this is how one naturally develops, and I think you should keep doing what you're probably doing, which is listening to and score-reading as many different genres as possible. Don't give up.

    I have two bits of constructive criticism:
    1. DON'T listen to critics! After all, when Beethoven composed his "Grosse Fuge" for string quartet, all the music critics at the time HATED it! They all said, THAT'S not music! Yes, THAT Beethoven! 😁😁😁
    2. As the great Duke Ellington once said, "If it sounds good, it IS good"! In other words, if something you write sounds good to you, then it IS good!
    So, keep on composing! You will get better at it over time and through trial and error. 😊😊😊😊

    Ten notes in a row does not make it a symphony..."explores many musical topics and ideas"...keep it down my friend, learn some harmony, some composition and the start naming your works as symphonies...

      @@msvaycomposer that's awesome! Remember that having a good teacher in composition is fundamental if you want to improve. The biggest problem with composition is that you do not see your mistakes or where you can change something for better because at first you can't analyse any piece and you think that what you have made is all fine. With time and study you will begin to ask yourself the right questions and decide what really is best for your composition.

    • @alexsturrock9602
      @alexsturrock9602 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@msvaycomposer it is better just to use opus numbers. The catalogues of works of composers separate from opus numbers such as K. for Mozart or TrV. for Richard Strauss were catalogues made by others, often after the composer's death to organize the works of the composer if they did not use opus numbers or did not assign opus numbers to all of their works. The use of opus numbers mean that no one has to go the effort of making such catalogues. There is no need to try to do something "special" or "original" with the list of your works. It is pointless to make a new catalogue when an opus number system can easily be used. Please consider my advice as it would make your works more accessible and easier to understand. Thank you.

      @@msvaycomposeryou need to study music in an professional school music, because you need something else…. You must need to learn harmony and contra point, because, the harmony is really bad. But I like you effort for this symphony. And I like the orchestration style, but you need more study. I recomand you to listen classical music and choir music, because it has a very strong harmony and correctly.
