No brainer: There has yet to be a pedal that can perfectly replicate the tone and ambience of a well maintained Leslie speaker. But the RT20 is a great value: Sounds good, is affordable, and is WAY more portable than the real thing. Great informative demo, thanks for posting.
A comparison between a real Leslie and electronic imitations is kind of moot anywhere else but in the presence of the Leslie. It's acoustic effect is there in the room, and here we are listening to it on TH-cam with fixed speakers. The electronic imitations have become so good that it's become almost impossible to distinguish between a recorded Leslie and an imitation (which is what we're getting here), but for those who have had the pleasure of actually hearing to a Leslie live, nothing else will ever fully reproduce that effect.
Whew! That's one HELLUVA expensive amount of fabulous gear! Leslies are mind-numbingly awesome. They are also a beehotch to transport and move about, then there's the mic surround. The RT-20 does a respectable emulation. Don't forget that terrific pedal produced by Leslie itself. About $100 more than the Boss pedal, but I think it more closely emulates a Leslie. Finally, anyone who's going through the aging process can easily appreciate moving a 5-to-10 pound effects pedal.
Nice playing Keith! Hard to simulate a Leslie because those speakers rotating through the air add unique properties. But, I have to say the RT does a very respectful job of capturing the vibe. Thanks for the demo. Very nicely done!

Could someone please give me instructions on how to put an overdrive know on a Hammond? I just bought a M100 and I just love the overdriven scream it lets out with overdrive!

The sound you get from planting a bunch of mic's around a Leslie really isn't worth the time and trouble. The gear snobs will disagree, but the RT delivers a ton of bang for very few bucks. I've been trying a lot of the Leslie sim pedals for guitar and I went to band rehearsal and the other guitarist used an RT-20 that he just got and I was like..WHOA !!! The best sounding Leslie pedal I have heard to date. I haven't tried the Neo Vent or the Hughes & Kettner yet(too much $) but I've heard they're pretty darn good, but I'm very pleased with the RT and my search is over. Great playing !
100% agree the only real way you can tell is if you can hear the sound coming FROM the actual cabinet. I’d go as far as saying that a simulator can be BETTER than the real thing for large venues because of what you said micing etc.

I BOUGHT THE RT 20 THE BUILT IN ROTARY ON MY YAMAHA PSR 730 AND ON MY CASIO WK 1800 TONES ARE BETTER THEN WHAT THE RT 20 OFFERS I PLUG AND UNPLUG ITS LIKE THE RT 20 IS JUST ON BUT NOT WORKING I THOUGHT IT WAS BROKEN BUT THE KEYBOARD STORE LET ME BORROW 2 BRAND NEW ONES THE SAME RESULTS. MY KEYBOARDS BUILT-IN TONES ARE BETTER GOT MY MONEY BACK THINK IM GOING FOR THE NEO 2
You should a chord along time to and let the speeds on the Leslie both the real Leslie and the track 20 you never let ether rise to the full speed of both rotors at full speed. So the video means nothing.

That RT20 is pretty impressive sounding. Though that little walking bassline deal at the end sounded hawt on the Leslie!
