Almost no one you’ll ever meet thinks twice before judging anyone too harshly. Must be some sort of instinctual self preservation part of the human brain. People must not be able to cope as a person without finding a way to look down on others.
This happened to me when I was a teenager after many many bad crashes. Eventually I sold my dirt bike for pain pills. Prison at 18 then again at 22 then more years of trauma! Almost 40 and still building my life back and paying for my past. Good luck bro ! Stay strong man appreciate the hustle and honesty
Thanks for giving Max this interview. I think it will help him. People don’t seem to know much about Max. No opinion either way kinda thing. He represented himself very well , very genuine. Have a blessed life Max and oh, you better take care of your sister. ( I have a wonderful little sister also )
It is not only the Dr's fault. I think that many people will do anything to keep going, and don't realize the danger of trying to get "better" faster. I crashed a few years ago, and broke some ribs. I've avoided heavy pain meds before, due to knowing that I have an addictive nature. Though the pain from the ribs was so bad that I took the pills with NO thoughts outside of not being in pain. After two weeks of pain meds, I realized that they were in charge, and I had to stop. It was rough. Now think how much pressure is on an athlete to get back in the game ASAP. I would also think that anyone who has the grit to go pro, might be more likely to think that they are too strong to get bitten by the pills, and their career depends on getting back out there.
Yup. The drug makers manufacture these so called miracle drugs. The doctors get informed about them . Then the doctors get lazy and don’t want to figure out what’s really going on and just start prescribing that shit and send you on your way. It’s all about seeing as many patients as possible in a certain amount of time, that’s where the money is. I work for large health care company and see the hustle all the time. Bottom line…it’s all about how little time they want to see you for and how much money the insurance companies and the health care facility can bilk for.
It is also on the side of the patient. For a professional athlete, getting back in the game quickly must be high pressure. That will lead to doing what it takes to get on the bike, and keeping contracts alive.
its okay buddy. most people look at a pinecone and expect an ambush from mothernature in the form of rillaboons and we dont really have the wisdom to know the difference. its stupid but invest in some lidocain and well google some effects of the pain med it is. most people have the time, i dont either.
Very common in moto with the nature of our sport boys. Be careful, it happens soo fast. Have somone meter your meds if youre injured, and reject a refill from the Dr after 1 prescription. All it takes, 1 bottle...done.
...and there's the side we seldom see of riders. Think twice before judging anyone too harshly folks...thanks for the interview

Glad to see him back and getting healthy! It’s funny to see him and Jett on the same team after all the years of watching them race each other.

Perseverance to say the least. Proud of you Maximus, can't wait to see what you do this season!
What a story!! Wow!
I’ve been through pain medication withdrawal and that shit is legit pain in itself.
Wow he’s been through a lot, crazy what you don’t hear until an interview like this comes out 😮
Go Max!! We believe!!!
I got addicted to pain meds and took me many years to overcome it. I've have never felt so bad as I did coming off pain meds.
Another sad story of doctors throwing pills at a problem. Great to see the kid back!

Max is a ripper pray to God and good to see you again riding 🙏🏻
I hope he has a breakout ride this year.
Thc an cbd before opioid
USA has this war against drugs (people in pain....) though so depends on the state
Cbd is snake oil.
