I have grown Egyptian walking onions for about three years now. I love them! Thanks for the video on how to dry them. I’m thinking about pickling some of the small onions.
I have been thinking of getting a bed of these walking onions. Thanks for sharing this video. I just subscribed so looking forward to more videos. Definitely sells me on setting aside some space in my small garden.

I’m a new subscriber thanks for talking about Egyptian walking onion!! Here in Kentucky you cannot find them anywhere!! Thanks for sharing!! 🙌🏻🦋🙏🏻
I'm in Calgary zone 3b, I've been growing a patch of these for the last few years. I love how hardy they are, this year they were starting under 6 inches of snow! About the first thing to appear each year. I hadn't thought of dehydrating to make onion powder, will give it a try, thanks!
New subscriber here. I seen the Hollar Homestead a couple years back talking about their walking onions. Maybe it was them? I’m in 9a, Panhandle of Florida. I’m starting my fall garden in a week, we harvested two pumpkins today from the spring season. Excited to have food for our pantry.

Hey, subscribed after watching your worm feeders video. I have always struggle growing bulbing onions and these look interesting.
Do you have instagram? I can dm you there. I gotta figure out how to dm people on TH-cam.
I would love some starts if you have some to spare.
Let me see if I have any left. Can you email me your information? Yeahthatguy247@gmail.com
I know that the 'bulblets; are sharper-flavored than the bottom bulb. Still, I usually give them to neighbors of our Milwaukee (Zone 5b) community garden - sort of Intro to Green Thumb' starter plant. Who doesn't need something that looks like it came directly from Outer Space? If the plants are left to winter-over, the bulbs get significantly larger. Flavor-reviews still pending.
I’ve never tried the little guys just gave em away…. Thanks for watching!
My grandkids assure me the bulbills are much stronger flavored.
We only started this spring so our production is low but all the samples of every part of the plant were greatly appreciated.
Powdered is the best for storage.
Mix 2 complete onions with 1 complete elephant garlic plant chopped fine then add some bacon ranch dressing and a qt jar lasts about 9 bologna sandwiches.
And the grandkids loved using all the antique choppers for onion and shredders for garlic.
( hand crank of course.)
Ages 11 and 8.
This is awesome! I think I am going to pick all the bulbills and see what I have.
Would they make nice pickled onions?
The bulblets beg to be pickled and start with a more-intense flavor. But I give 5them away.
Great video! I subscribed, and I'd love a few bulbs if you have some to share.
Thanks for the sub! Send me an email and we will see what we can do! yeahthatguy247@gmail.com

I started my first walking onions last fall. Best thing about them is how easy they are to grow. I can't grow bulb onions for anything, but I can grow these 😊 I started with 9 bulbletts last year and have already shared more than a hundred from those 9. Even if you have to order them online, I highly recommend them!
They are prolific! Thanks for watching!
