Evening Mk! Been watching the railway bits again on Mrs Biggs, seems to be a mish-mash of locations - there is an ex-Great Central station which I don't recognise (it's not on the preserved GCR); the 47 running wrong-line on a viaduct with St.Paul's Cathedral superimposed in the background; and the terminus appears to be Paddington(?) with the Class 52 & another green cl.47 superimposed on the right hand side -to hide the electric cantenary(?)! plus a mention of "training on an EE type 3000"!
More fantastic material MK! A 1000 thanks for putting this on. I spent a fair bit of time there myself 87-89 trying to catch the last of the 20s and 45s. Incidentally I managed to see the sand train at Carlton twice now. It seems to have settled into a "regular time(!)" of arrival at 1545hrs witha healthy 31 wagon-consist. You seem to have put a fair bit more on YT too, did you manage to get that Cl.31 at M/bretton on here that you mentioned a while ago, on by any chance?
Afternnon MK! Many thanks - really looking forward to that one. Did you see"Mrs Biggs" at all last night - they really got their "eras" mixed up on that one, even in the first four minutes - a green Brush 4 in "Ocober 1957" passed a rake of maroon Mk IIs and then pulled into a station with a blue Western alongside!! Will watch it this eve in full and keep count of gaffs on the bus front!!
Evening Mk! Yeah that's the one alright - you said the clip was too long for YT I recall. Would be nice to see something non-American moving on that stretch. Incidentally I was amazed to learn of the Sheffield - Bedford electrification - how long will Dore Tunnel take?! Plenty of diversions along the "old Road" me thinks!
I believe that platform is still in place today. Wasn’t it part of the old Rawmarsh & Parkgate station? Also was the 150 working a Nottingham - Leeds service?
To split hairs it was called Parkgate & Rawmarsh. There were three bridges, carrying the fast lines, the slow lines, and a shunting spur from Aldwarke Main colliery to a slag heap on the south side of Aldwarke Road.
I did, i was told to be quiet by the gaffer, after pointing the mistakes out, it will be fun to see how the train robbery went on, maybe they'll have a Class 08 on front of the train !. Why don't they (TV Companies) ask for advice from people who know about railways and do the job correct ?
