When the narrator says, “Emmaline tried her best to be a good little girl,” you can see that she drew Mr. Kreezle. Mr. Kreezle is Emmaline’s imaginary friend. That is why Emmaline is called his creator. That is why Mr. Kreezle is capable of obedience, but not love, freewill, or independent thought. He can only be what Emmaline wishes him to be. When Emmaline screams, it is her fury that deforms her imaginary friend. It is her rage and causes Mr. Kreezle to robotically act out Emmaline's revenge. Ultimately, it is Emmaline who kills everyone, not Mr. Kreezle because Mr. Kreezle is nothing more than an extension of Emmaline.
I don't get why everyone is mad at Emily, she thought she was being replaced and it wasn't like she could've known. She just wanted love, I was satisfied with the end of the story.
CuernosBeste I was like, maybe 9 or 10? My sister showed them to me and I hated them, but lowly they started to mean a ton to me. I'm so glad she actually still makes amazing content.
I remember this short film back from the early/mid 2000s. I recently remembered it, and came looking for it again, and I'm glad I was able to find it. It's much more tear jerky than I remember it being.
I used to watch all of these videos with my friends at sleepovers like 5 or 6 years ago, and I just found them again haha. I used to love these so much.
This is my absolute favorite piece from your works, Katy. If Emeline were my child; I'd love her, play with her, tell her stories and keep her safe. The kind of things a REAL parent would happily do for their children. Unlike hers
I feel like I've heard hundreds of variations of this story before, however that being said, this is my favourite version of it. Elegantly fragile and subtly creepy, and very simple. Beautiful. And the narrators voice fits very well, even though in a perfect world it would be read by someone like Vincent Price. That would make this story absolutely perfect. Thumbs up for the music as well. I will definitely be buying your book. Keep up the wonderful work :)
what i have always wondered about this story is, emiline would have had a little sister, wouldnt that mean she could have a friend? but i get the whole feeling replaced side
Perhaps they could have been friends. But Emmaline was only 3. A toddler who felt unloved and forgotten. All this little girl hears is that her parents who have never shown her love or given her time are now going to do such with another kid. In a toddlers mind, she was being replaced because she had never been shown she meant anything.
It's great to see this old animation revisited in HD. It's still really enchanting in its own weird way. The narration syncs up with the animation very well, and I feel very empathetic for Emmeline just as much now as I did when I first saw this story. I hope you share more stories with us, Ms. Towell.
Recently rediscovered this and showed it to my girlfriend. I first discovered this years back when you posted it on newgrounds, and it blew me away. Such a well done dark fairy tale. It looks like it's been some time since you've posted, but you have a real gift for storytelling, and you helped inspire my own. I hope you come back and make more someday.
I remember finding this channel when I was little and having no clue what it was but liking it in a strange way. Watching it now makes me say “dang...... I was a messed up child....”
This will always be my favorite. I remember watching it originally on what I think was ebaumsworld ten-ish years ago (nearly that, if not quite). I'm giving my niece one of your books for her birthday this year. She's the kind of kid who loves Scooby Doo even though it scares her. I'm hoping she'll love your stories as much as I do.
I will never forget emailine. This literally stuck with me through so many years and kinda scared me into being nice to every person I ever knew, which I don’t entirely regret. Thank you emaline.
I watched this on repeat as a kid, and it's so weird coming back to it as an adult and realizing why it resonated with you so much as a child. Thanks for making this
oh man, I LOVED all these videos back when i was in high school in the early 2000's. Im 31 now and im so glad these are still out there. Still love them. Does anyone remember the book that was printed of this story? I wanted it so so bad when i was a teenager but it went out of print. I still look for it here and there lol
There's is actually a French movie about a girl who was forgotten (not a horror film) Her name is Annie and she decided to run away and live in the forest
that was cute and sad, well done!! 8.9 of 10!! this artwork was great, story was well made and delivered music was perfect this is just amazing. again WELL DONE!!
This is so sad :') great story though. Never heard anything quite like it. Really cool art style too! :) really enjoyed it, even though it brought out the feels...
Ohh I love this so much! :) I saw it a few years ago and it has always stuck in my mind. I'm glad that I found it again ^_^ I love the narrator's voice too!
I can relate to Emeline… my parents were similar to this. They didn’t give me the time of day. I was such a sweet child, but I acted out of rage. Thank you for making this beautiful piece of art. So sad but so real 🥹💔
I watched this around 10 years ago and felt for Emmeline...now as an adult, that part where she feels empty because Mr. Creazil was nice to spend time with but couldn't love her on his own actually hits much harder than it used to. It's someting I've experienced myself...imagine going through that as a three year old who doesn't know the first thing about managing feelings and the like. Kudos for this story
My theory is that Emmaline is actually dead, hence the reason why everyone forgot about her. Perhaps she died young due to some accident or the sort. When the maid lady was speaking to her, it might have actually been a portrait or memorial of her that her pare ts had placed down. I haven't seen this theory yet in the comment section so I'll just leave this here for future reference.
Wow this brings back memories. I have this story ripped form like early 200? Every so often It popes up on my playlist that I transferred from my i-pod and I wondered what happened to this animator. I finally got around to looking it back up. glad to see you're still around. Any one know if the narrator has other stories hes done since then? :)
I was thinking about this story the other day and wonder what the title was, but I couldn't remember it. Fortunately... here it is! I've loved it in the past and I love it now. Sorry for my english, I'm Italian.
It always made me so sad when Emmeline showed her lovely drawing of Mr. Kreazel with the little hearts and he showed his drawing of the sock with the hearts and she realized he didn't love her as a friend :(
I watched this a few years ago and thought it was amazing. I watch it now and can't stop thinking of my cat who died just under month ago. I don't think I want a new cat anymore, I don't want him to be lonely.
To clarify the reason everyone ignored her was because emmeline had passed away before the story began of a sickness or by other unknown circumstances. If you listen closely this makes sense. Her parents kept all of her things to remember the little girl they had lost. Mr. Crizzle was a demon that was emmelines manifestation of evil that formed as a trapped spirit within the house. The maid spoke to emmeline in her room because after hearing the news of the new baby she wanted emmeline in spirit to know that her parents could finally move on and be happy with their lives due to the loss of the girl. Because emmeline didnt understand that she was dead she became enraged and unleashed her wrath upon her parents and the people of the town thereafter fading away and moving on to a better place.(or worse)
Does anyone know what the music is called? It was also featured in Costume Quest 2 in the witches bog, and since they also made a reference to bee and puppycat in that game I'm wondering if it's a reference to this

+silent airbender which story is stella from ? :)
Why are you saying this on every single comment??
stingerinthewind I
I don't get why everyone is mad at Emily, she thought she was being replaced and it wasn't like she could've known. She just wanted love, I was satisfied with the end of the story.
its not emily its emmeline
I remember this...I still feel sorry for the little girl. Was forgotten by everyone, even her parents, and they were going to have a new child...
Blue Ryuu I wonder if maybe there was financial trouble...and maybe her parents did love her....
Sorry I go detective mode
O_o
OMG YESS
Rom Hook O~o
That's probably the best I can do
People are complaining how Emeline could've made friends with the child, guys that's a child, children will act like this, a temper tantrum,
Oh man I missed these videos and I remember watching them when I was middle school. (now I'm in 12th grade)
I am a senior now too and I did the same with my cousin she was an 6th grader and I was an 8th grader
CuernosBeste Same!!!! im a senior too! i misx these too!
CuernosBeste I was like, maybe 9 or 10? My sister showed them to me and I hated them, but lowly they started to mean a ton to me. I'm so glad she actually still makes amazing content.
CuernosBeste I remember watching these in middle school as well😇
I remember this short film back from the early/mid 2000s. I recently remembered it, and came looking for it again, and I'm glad I was able to find it. It's much more tear jerky than I remember it being.
I too haven't seen this in ages thought of it randomly today and searched for like a hour
I watched all of these videos about 2 years ago and i've found them again and i'm so happy
I used to watch all of these videos with my friends at sleepovers like 5 or 6 years ago, and I just found them again haha. I used to love these so much.
Same

She's dead, when the maid talked to her, she was talking to a picture of her.
Sweet Lovin's
What, no way
Yup, that's why she's "ignored" by everyone, they weren't ignoring her they just didn't know she was there.
Sweet Lovin's
I don't know if that's what Katy was going for
I think it is, why else would she be ignored?
I first saw this years ago and I still remember it clearly to this day. Great rework Katy; you are a true storyteller
Haven't seen this in 15 years. The memory of the girl who was forgotten creeped into my mind. Love your animations and artwork.
I feel like I've heard hundreds of variations of this story before, however that being said, this is my favourite version of it. Elegantly fragile and subtly creepy, and very simple. Beautiful. I'll never forget you, Emeline
Ah, wonderful memories, thanks for re-uploading. This was one of my first favorite TH-cam videos!
what i have always wondered about this story is, emiline would have had a little sister, wouldnt that mean she could have a friend?
but i get the whole feeling replaced side
Pretty sure the little sister would forget her too.
The parents would be just as busy as ever no matter how many children they had, the sister would be forgotten and they'd only have each other.
Perhaps they could have been friends. But Emmaline was only 3. A toddler who felt unloved and forgotten. All this little girl hears is that her parents who have never shown her love or given her time are now going to do such with another kid. I saw this when I was like 11 or 12
I'm feeling so nostalgic right now can't believe I found this again
I remember finding this channel when I was little and having no clue what it was but liking it in a strange way. Watching it now makes me say “dang...... I was a messed up child....”
I remember an old friend being so excited to show this to me way back when. I've loved your videos and stories ever since
which one was the answer to her wish.....the monster who did her bidding or the child she never met?
lisajena42 I never thought of that
maybe both at the same time
Wow... That's... Really profound.
Every few years I rediscover Katy and this gem of hers, amongst the others. Always fantastic
I will never forget emailine. This literally stuck with me through so many years and kinda scared me into being nice to every person I ever knew, which I don’t entirely regret. Thank you emaline.
EVEN THE POSTMAN!
Watching this in 2023. Came to my mind suddenly. Stil the saddest story I’ve ever heard
I watched this on repeat as a kid, and it's so weird coming back to it as an adult and realizing why it resonated with you so much as a child. Thanks for making this
Oh I remember the first time I saw this on Deviantart. Love it then and still love it now.
A classic! My favourite story of yours, looks great in HD. :)
This story was one of my inspirations for a fanfic I was writing. It's still awesome!
oh man, I LOVED all these videos back when i was in high school in the early 2000's. Im 31 now and im so glad these are still out there. Still love them. Does anyone remember the book that was printed of this story? I wanted it so so bad when i was a teenager but it went out of print. I still look for it here and there lol

"The scars of persecution always harden into spite."
GREAT WORK!
This one is so good!
Or rather evil, I always come back to it, once in a while. When me to, I come to wish upon a star.
OMG! This is my favorite history of your channel, and I am very excited to watch it on HD. Thanks a lot!
Stunning...the beauty of this story brought tears to my eyes and made my hairs stand on end.
His voice is so aesthetically pleasing omg. XD The story was really good too.
I loved this story, and thanks for re-uploading! :D
This reminds me of my childhood.
UMM...so your saying you created a bff from a wishing star who destroyed everything
Edgy
I used to watch this ALL the time in 5th grade! It's still one of my favorite animations by you.
Never gets old and always catchy! ))) Thank you!
There's is actually a French movie about a girl who was forgotten (not a horror film) Her name is Annie and she decided to run away and live in the forest
This was one of the first skary.net animations I've seen from you. Keep up the brilliant work!
I remember seeing the original years ago, seeing it now makes me realise that it is such an important cautionary tale about showing love to everyone
that was cute and sad, well done!! 8.9 of 10!! this artwork was great, story was well made and delivered music was perfect
this is just amazing. again WELL DONE!!
What beautiful artwork..
This is so sad :') great story though. Never heard anything quite like it. Really cool art style too! :) really enjoyed it, even though it brought out the feels...
God I've been looking for this for soooooo long >< I was sad that I couldn't find it and then it popped up and I cheered so much ^.^

No matter how many times I watch this I always tear up. Poor little Emmaline
I remember this from second grade
Ohh I love this so much! :) I saw it a few years ago and it has always stuck in my mind. I'm glad that I found it again ^_^ I love the narrator's voice too!
I can relate to Emeline… my parents were similar to this. They didn’t give me the time of day. I was such a sweet child, but I acted out of rage. Thank you for making this beautiful piece of art. So sad but so real 🥹💔

the irony is; i nearly forgot about this series. :/ oops.
My theory is that Emmaline is actually dead, hence the reason why everyone forgot about her. Perhaps she died young due to some accident or the sort. When the maid lady was speaking to her, it might have actually been a portrait or memorial of her that her pare ts had placed down. This is one of my favorite stories
In the end she never really got her wish though. She faded away without ever being loved.
this one is the best
also the autumnal collector
everything just so dark
I remember watching these on fun flash over 10 years ago. So good.
Woah, this brings back memories. I think I watched this back in 2005, when I was still in high school, lol.
I was thinking about this story the other day and wonder what the title was, but I couldn't remember it. Fortunately... here it is! I've loved it in the past and I love it now.
Sorry for my english, I'm Italian.
DONT EVER MESS WITH LITTLE GIRLS XD
these videos are so cute. I still love watching them.
This actually made me cry...No story has ever done that...
I've seen this like 10 years ago, i coudn't believe i find it again
It always made me so sad when Emmeline showed her lovely drawing of Mr. Kreazel with the little hearts and he showed his drawing of the sock with the hearts and she realized he didn't love her as a friend :(
One of my favorites ❤️
If I ever have children, these are the type of stories that I will tell my children.
Great reason to re-watch it :)
I love this guy's voice. Was he that one guy in After the Stars Fell?
I watched this a few years ago and thought it was amazing. I watch it now and can't stop thinking of my cat who died just under month ago.
I don't think I want a new cat anymore, I don't want him to be lonely.
i understand how she feels. Great animation.
Your animations....I love them!!!
I love these stories.
I didn't feel like telling a bedtime story to Sally AND Lazari, so..... thanks....
I love this story!!!!
when I was really little I watched all of these nd I just found them again. They are so nostalgic
If Emily the Stange and Tim Burton had a child who was raised by Lemony Snickett = THIS
*Snicket
Carien Kotzé it’s snicket not snickett
This hit me in the feels, alright. This is what I'm currently facing nowadays. Everyone ignores me.
Nah. Not everyone. I noticed your post in here.
I noticed your post too
Thank you for noticing my post, guys! You're the best!
The SD version was one of the first videos I watched when I was in my emo stage.
Watching the new version now!
To clarify the reason everyone ignored her was because emmeline had passed away before the story began of a sickness or by other unknown circumstances. If you listen closely this makes sense. ive heard that in a story like, 300 times. but nice try.
I used to watch this as a little kid, just remembered it now and went to look at it, just realised how creepy it is!!
This story always scared me when I was little. I did cry for the little girl though. So sad. :c
I was listening to this then I looked at my iPad and NO KIDDING IT IS MIDNIGHT!!!😱
Scary
I started to watch these videos in the afternoon, took a small nap , again watched videos , look at the clock 10 'o clock , look outside DARK
OMG ME TOO 0-0!!!!
the cool guy this is 2 years old but I just looked at the time and it’s 12:07....
Does anyone know what the music is called? It was also featured in Costume Quest 2 in the witches bog, and since they also made a reference to bee and puppycat in that game I'm wondering if it's a reference to this
This story still makes me so sad
Bravo. That was so creepy.
was she really dead in the first place? Cause it looks like the maid was talking to a picture of her
Could have been, that would be interesting.
Would also explained why she faded at the end thanks to the wish
the MEMORIES!!!
I love the feeling of Poe and Lovecraft you have in this story. A demon that is "created" by a little girl and acts out her revenge. In fact. Calling it a mix of Poe and Lovecraft might not even be fair. You seem to have your own unique style.
i would give her the biggest hug and take her home with me and love her forever
mmm her friend is a good friend making her happy.
My rather unpopular theory of what the story represents, which I'm pretty sure is not what the creator originally intended, is as follows:
The star Emmeline wishes upon...is actually non other than the devil himself (who is sometimes referred to as a "morning star"). The popular German band, Rammstein, has a song called "Morgenstern" (morning star), where a similar scenario happens - a man (the singer) addresses the "morning star" (satan), he tells it to protect him and the woman he loves from harm, and even calls it "ugly" a couple of times, referring to how the devil was once an angel.
Similarly, Emmeline, being neglected and unloved by her family, yearns for affection, and she wishes upon the star for a friend. The devil, seeing the despair this girl is in, sends her a demon (which explains why, even in his initial, white-furred form, Mr. Kreezle has horns on his head and looks rather monstrous). When she learns about her baby sister, Emmeline is filled with rage, because she realizes that another child will receive the love she never got. She gets jealous. And because jealousy and rage are negative emotions, they fuel Mr. Kreezle and he becomes a gigantic beast that kills everything around. Through Emmeline and her human weakness, the devil finds a way to wreak havoc by sending one of his minions as a quasi-friend to her. Then, the girl and the demon are both taken into another dimension, for the pact Emmeline made with the devil...has a price.
P.S. I couldn't find "Moody" and "Teeny Empty Urns" on Incompetech. Does anybody have the songs as files? Were they renamed?
What's the name of the song playing when the town was being destroyed because I can't find it ANYWHERE!
I loved watching this as a kid lol I don’t know why
