    I had to drive to the biggest theater within 30 minutes of me but if I wanted to drive 45 minutes I could have had RDX surround sound at an even better theater

    Three things: 1) Thanks for making a review of this movie. Discussion of it is absolutely invisible. 2) Thanks also for noting that skipping floors is probably the way to keep things interesting. It's crazy to me that people think that the best version of SAO would see them beating all 100 floors. That would absolutely get stale. 3) Thanks also for noting how strange it was for Kirito and Asuna to be together. One of the early things that made SAO a favorite of mine was how they didn't do a hundred episodes of "will they, won't they?" like every other show.
    All in all, I also thought it was pretty good, and I loved the boss fight. To me, it felt more like a video game boss fight than any other boss fight in the franchise. I look forward to the next one, as well as a season five... someday...
    Take care.

    I was really surprised to see that people didn’t like this movie. I thought it was done great and a good followup to Aria of starless night

    Honestly I think the Progressive movies are worth trying out even for non fans if they still like the premise.
    Granted, I've never been an SAO hater, and I've only seen the first three arcs, but despite getting enjoyment out of it the main series didn't really hook me long term which is why I haven't watched it in so long. Despite that, I'm in love with the series premise and it's still something that's often on my mind.
    And I've REALLY enjoyed both Progressive Movies. I really want to see more, and I'm honestly mostly positive about the changes and additions that have been made. Even things that I didn't have a problem with in the original.

    Technicaly a reboot progressive is a reboot novel series because the author felt the first arc was rushed

    the first movie was ok even with the changes, althought i found it sad that Argo was only shown in the end. dont get me wrong the if u dont know the Novel the 2nd movie is nice, but only IF u dont know the novel. but seriously skipping 3 whole floors and do the 2nd movie about floor 5 and with all those stupid changes.
    especialy with the fact that when the first was anounced they said the do them from Asuna´s view to show her growth as a character and then they dont show how she evolved with the help from Kirito on floors 2-4. or the impact Kizmel has on her on how she see´s npc.
    since Reiki-Sensei started to write progressive when he was already on Alicization, there sure are some differences between Prog and the Aincrad arc we know. like how she handles npcs, if you´ve read Prog first and then see the ep where she´s saying to lure the fieldboss in the village to use the npcs as decoys u wouldn´t believe it.
    but back to scherzo, the whole PoH incedent at the end crap as hell. PoH ambushed him alone, Asuna was still on the balcony and the necklace Asuna got from Mito, not possible on this floor, even on the floor 6 Kirito says the best protection/potion against paralysing that players can craft is level 2 and not 5 like the necklace. that was the main reason Kirito knew PoH was bluffing and escaped from him. even the floor 4 boss fight wouldn´t have gone as smoothly without the help from Kizmel and the Viscount from the Darkelf Base on the floor. since every boss had a change in it in some way from the beta like u see with the boss fights at the ends of both movies which where hinted at least for the bosses of 3 and 4 in the Elf War Campaign questline. sure they had to cut the source down to for the movies, but that could´ve gone better than this. even Liz gets mentioned before floor 5, Kirito even sees her on the 4th in the teleport plaza.
    so in my opinion bad movie and i can just say if u liked it buy the Novels, read them that a better choice and gets u a better grip on the story than this movie.

    More interesting” then why skip floor 3 floor 3 is the begining of the elf arc who h is what most of floor 4-9 is so they skiped the start or an arc

    I’ve watched every other sao movie (except sao extra, that one wasn’t even really a movie to me). This one is the worst….. it’s strange how sao progressive 1 was way better to me than this one was? How can that be? The action felt lacking… kirito and Asunas relationship doesn’t make sense since he seems too far developed as a character to be the kirito he should’ve been in the original sword art online. The boss fight scenes I think are what lack the most honestly. If the boss fights and “duels” were actually tense or the least bit interesting I would like it 100%. Unfortunately they weren’t that good…. So sad honestly I wanna cry 😿

      I'm honestly really confused about how you found the boss fights here disappointing. The fight against Fuscus, in my opinion, is the best boss fight since the fight against An Incarnation of the Radius in Ordinal Scale. I adored this movie, but that's admittedly partly since Scherzo gives a bunch of time to my favorite character Argo, who had been virtually non-present in the anime up to this point.

      Facts

    • @Wrawny
      @Wrawny ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DigimonFan814 the fight against the kobold in progressive 1 was easily more tense and interesting (even tho it’s technically a rewatch of episode 2/3). Not just that Asuna almost dying and fighting for her life was also a tense interesting moment. I’ve only watched both movies once yet I remember more about the 1st one than the second (maybe because the 2nd is new content?). The boss fight in P2 is nowhere near the level it was on in ordinal scale, it’s impossible. It was so corny and not well executed much, sure it was a bit realistic from a gamers standpoint in P2 but it’s fiction. even the centipede boss in the original was better than that…..
      Not to go off on a tangent but I feel that kirito and Asuna needed more individual backstory/development in sao before being tied at the hip 24/7. I felt Asuna was almost a different character than from what we’ve seen it was beautiful. Kirito allegedly is supposed to be a solo character but he’s hard stuck in a party with Asuna all the time? I don’t know why the series paints him as being this loner who prefers being alone and only caring about himself but it’s just never true in sao according to the events that occur.
      No unnecessary hate to P2 or P1 but ordinal scale is the best sao movie honestly (even before the final fight) I just like the realisticality of how Kirito struggled a lot in person while Asuna was dominating his ass in real life (“real”) combat

      @@Wrawny Have you read the light novels? I think many of your questions would be more clearly answered there. Still, even without that context, I think the films make it clear why they're together at that point; remember that at the end of Aria, Asuna specifically says that she's going to stick with Kirito for a while because they're on the same path. That's still the case by the time Scherzo rolls around, and continues to be the case for some time.
      As for Kirito being a loner, remember that that isn't really what he wants. He felt guilty for abandoning Klein for his own sake in episode 1, partnered with Asuna for much of the early time in Aincrad, and later joined the Moonlit Black Cats guild. It's not that he really wants to be a loner so much as he has awkward social skills (and a ton of surviver's guilt and trauma).
      And don't get me wrong; I love Ordinal Scale, and still think it's probably the best SAO animated product thus far, but Scherzo is still incredibly good. I liked it far more than Aria, good as Aria was, because it was something that hadn't been adapted to this point. Also, Scherzo pays off much of what was set up in Aria, which was also immensely satisfying.

    • @Wrawny
      @Wrawny ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DigimonFan814 His survivors guilt wasn’t there until deep into sao (especially after black cats 🐈‍⬛) which I don’t think happens in between aria and scherzo. That or after he beat the game and was in the real world again after experiencing many losses and realizing what he’s been through.
      As for the LN I’ve heard many great things but i have never really read through it, which is unfortunate because I’m sure it covers the story better than the anime.
      It really is strange, though it might be pointless to criticize the movies since the “progressive” adaptations came after the source material so the plot could really be anything that doesn’t complicate the main plot so it’s whatever I guess…. The time skips shown in the anime could really be anything. I’d say that if he was partying up with Asuna right before lizbeths arc it would make sense.
      Thinking back I guess their relationship isn’t too far off but that tree scene in the fields along with how Asuna treats kirito until the lisbeth arc doesn’t make sense with scherzo. They are at the hip already when it took them awhile in the main story (anime only remember!)
      I think another good example is during the laughing coffin arc when Kirito makes a fuss about teaming up or forming a party because he’s solo when in progressive they were together a lot! Which happens after scherzo. There are other instances like when he goes over to her house and she proposes partying up but again “I’m solo!” You could say that his guilt of people dying on his behalf would haunt him which is reasonable but what other reason would he refuse?

    To give actual criticism this video wasn't good. Why would ANYONE watch a review without expecting spoilers, it makes the "review" very trashy and difficult to understand. I get you made this video without a script but the script for this sucks so terribly. It just goes from you skipping to part to part. I hope you can rewatch and review it properly.
