I made an extremely short 20 second video of the same NightHawkInLight plastic tube / torch flame shooter that Kevin was talking about. I welded up a steel bottle launcher version..... NightHawkInLight was the only person to comment on it "This thing is awesome! Just stumbled on this video". Such a great guy to write a comment knowing he would get nothing in return, I mean the video has like 600 views, not like I am a monetized youtuber. No one else would see his comment except me. It really speaks a lot to his character and is one of the reasons I enjoy youtube so much. Watching these guys who aren't actors, producing their own content, doing the things that they enjoy.

Late to the party, but my girlfriend was asking how I was watching so much of this podcast after only finding Will et all a week ago, and I basically said that it was nice to watch a group of friends talk about nerdy stuff, because none of my friends are interested in it
I started watching Jake when he was just starting out and thought he was making stuff out of junk. I've been really impressed watching his progress and it's great to see how impressively engineered his projects are now.
Always watch this podcast while driving lol. Have bad ADHD and I need something to hold my attention thats not visually distracting so I can stay focused on the road and this podcast is perfect!

oh shit I got called out hahaha I've been binging your podcast on my work commute all week. I'm "not" going 90 on a country road right now. It's almost an hour each way and I love podcasts when I'm not in the mood for music. I don't actually watch it, I'll occasionally glance at my phone on the console mount but mostly just listen. I mean in Japan it's just kinda normal to have a functioning TV in your car, the GPS screen in my Infiniti has RCA input for video feed and it black screens in US models when you start moving but I've heard it functions while driving in the Japanese market version of the car. edit: survived
The fact that Jake is the same age as me but way more handsome, smarter, and wealthier, but is so chill, kind and humble is great to see people like are are the ones to make great changes in the world
So with LWIAY and YIAY. YIAY was made years before LWIAY, but LWIAY is very different. The problem came from Jackfilms and Pewdiepie knowing eatchother, so Pewds got an intro made that was really similar to YIAYs intro and as a joke said Jack copied it. Jack shoots back as understanding the joke pretending to be mad. But alot of people got really mad at Jack not understanding the joke, which was just really dumb.

In relation to that plagiarism conversation near the beginning, there was I remember a mini-controversy in the Battlefield community regarding a TH-camr by the name of TBAG Epic Gaming making a video series going over details within Battlefield 1. A while after this, youtuber DefendTheHouse also started a series covering BF1 details, and people within both communities were arguing over who stole who's idea. Ultimately, it was cleared up between TBAG and DTH (iirc, it was just a coincidence) and ultimately DTH didn't go past like two BF1 details videos, instead simply sticking to their Mythbusters-esque vids.
You know, there used to be a show, I think it was on MTV, called "You write it you watch it." Ben Stiller was on it, and the idea was that viewers would send in ideas for comedy sketches and they would film them and show them. It wasn't that big and got cancelled fairly quickly (I'm an old man, I remember seeing the info on this on like, VH1 or something). It's interesting to me that the culture has changed in terms of people wanting credit and money for sending in an idea and shows and channels have to say the whole "If you submit something we won't use it" for the liability purposes.
IMO it’s a good progress forward. Because so many artists, writers etc would get so screwed over. It’s nice we are finally realizing the value in someone’s time, energy and experience in the arts.
I really want to see will post a video about what he did with the Mr. Best squid games. They’ve talked about it so much and it sounds so cool. The more nitty gritty the better.

William I find your thoughts on Small TH-camrs being abused very interesting. I got my start working for larger TH-camrs as a content farm laborer VIA Fiverr. I would get a project, fight to have it scaled down to a reasonable project, fight to get paid more than $500 for 60+ hours of work (less after Fiverrs Cut and taxes) and then they would say "I will see if we could put your name in a pinned comment" or some shit before instantly handing me an even larger project with an even tighter deadline. Several times they would talk in such a way that would almost seem like they were trying to imply that I should be thankful that they even gave me a chance. I was invited to a Discord chat where I "met the team" aka a couple other people they hired on Fiverr. These people immediately gave me work with zero discussion about pay. When I told them I demand a certain level of professionalism and structure, all contact ceased. I was contacted on Fiverr a few months later by a new client on behalf of the same channel, offering me even less money. I did not accept the job.

Will finally becoming self-aware of the fact that this show is essentially just a botched NPR show 25 episodes in. I mean this in the absolute best way, it's even better than NPR to drive to.

Pretty much all typical safety glasses are made of polycarbonate because PC has the highest impact strength while remaining transparent. PC is also very good at absorbing infrared light. I am uncertain what wavelength of light is the damaging component of laser cutter refracted light. The tops of laser cutter enclosures are typically PC if it is a good product.
The weird thing about YIAY/etc is that Pewdiepie never said he made it, he made jokes about how he stole it yet people were still attacking Jack. It was ridiculous.

IF Kevin is talking about the Mythbusters experiment with the van, the real reason they didn't air it is because they laughed at the idea of it working. It worked so well, there was no place to take the storyline. Mythbusters was famed for upping the explosion, but it was so massive there was no point. There is a clip of it out there.
I don't think the people mad about saying nile green should stop doing things the way he was had anything to do with lack of understanding why it would be uncomfortable, more that it's just such great content because it is so similar (if a little more like he's on all the drugs). It being such a freakishly similar thing is what makes it work as well as it does.
maybe im wrong here, but in airrack s video for the spiderman thing, he said he was actually going to be spiderman in the movie ? I dont know how real any of that is , but the presentation of his video is completely different than JLasers.. he talks about how he wants to show marvel how he can be the best spiderman and all that and if that is true, it seems pretty normal if he made some research and found jlasers video and wanted to make the best spidernan he could so he took inspiration from it. The video is not the same at all , Jlasers video is twice as long , in this podcast he said he copied it scene by scene , and I gotta admit I didnt watch both videos fully , but quickly going through them side by side I mean, yeah the climbing suit is similar but the video is different... it seems like he had genuine interest in doing this project but I could be completely wrong
You should have Ryan Jenks on from How Not 2. He does tests on climbing equipment. Has a giant drop tower and a machine where he breaks lots of climbing equipment with a giant hydraulic cylinder in a massive aluminum channel. I don't climb but I watched near all of his videos. He also jumps off mountains.
With the hacksmith, he needs to argue less with people. I once pointed out that they had basically built a US army ascender, and was basically yelled at because theirs was a bit smaller and lighter, so it was better. The problem being theirs was still using an external battery pack and wasn't waterproofed, but the army's was. Oh well. Haven't watched their stuff since.
Just wanted to say that I was going over 90 on a California toll road while listening to this podcast and only realized how fast I was going when you guys started calling out the people driving. Anyway I'm still currently driving, I will let you know if I survive shortly. Edit: I did actually survive and make it to my 8am physics lab.

Great Podcast! I'd say one of the hardest things aside from being recognized and gaining clout is figuring out how to make good thumbnails and titles.

IF Kevin is talking about the Mythbusters experiment with the van, the real reason they didn't air it is because they laughed at the idea of it working. It worked so well, there was no place to take the storyline. Mythbusters was famed for upping the explosion, but it was so massive there was no point. There is a clip of it out there.

I don't think the people mad about saying nile green should stop doing things the way he was had anything to do with lack of understanding why it would be uncomfortable, more that it's just such great content because it is so similar (if a little more like he's on all the drugs).
It being such a freakishly similar thing is what makes it work as well as it does.
maybe im wrong here, but in airrack s video for the spiderman thing, he said he was actually going to be spiderman in the movie ? I dont know how real any of that is , but the presentation of his video is completely different than JLasers.. he talks about how he wants to show marvel how he can be the best spiderman and all that and if that is true, it seems pretty normal if he made some research and found jlasers video and wanted to make the best spidernan he could so he took inspiration from it. The video is not the same at all , Jlasers video is twice as long , in this podcast he said he copied it scene by scene , and I gotta admit I didnt watch both videos fully , but quickly going through them side by side I mean, yeah the climbing suit is similar but the video is different... it seems like he had genuine interest in doing this project but I could be completely wrong

You should have Ryan Jenks on from How Not 2. He does tests on climbing equipment. Has a giant drop tower and a machine where he breaks lots of climbing equipment with a giant hydraulic cylinder in a massive aluminum channel. I don't climb but I watched near all of his videos. He also jumps off mountains.
With the hacksmith, he needs to argue less with people. I once pointed out that they had basically built a US army ascender, and was basically yelled at because theirs was a bit smaller and lighter, so it was better. The problem being theirs was still using an external battery pack and wasn't waterproofed, but the army's was. Oh well. Haven't watched their stuff since.

Just wanted to say that I was going over 90 on a California toll road while listening to this podcast and only realized how fast I was going when you guys started calling out the people driving. Anyway I'm still currently driving, I will let you know if I survive shortly. Edit: I did actually survive and make it to my 8am physics lab.
