    I searched for an entire weekend to find a good tutorial on configuring Tasmota with inputs as binary sensors. One article involved converting YAML to JSON and putting it into the console. I wasn't able to get it to work. I was stuck until I found your video. I followed your steps and now my new D1 mini PIR/relay is integrated with Home Assistant and running automations. I will use this method for many more projects. Thank you very much!

    Thank you very much.
    I had been curious about how to set this up.
    For the last few weeks I had been casually returning to this problem but I was trying to figure out how to resolve it by editing my HA Yaml file. (HA would not create the binary sensor I wanted)
    But this seems to solve my problem when I build PIR motion sensors and link up to HA
    I like this format where we can follow along and you explain the steps as you go through.
    Subbed -- Im curious to see what other videos you have/create

    Great video as always, Pls make video on Water level indicator with ultrasonic sensor, connected to home assistant

    • @the_vccground
      @the_vccground  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, definitely. Ordinary ultrasonic sensors are practically not suitable for water level indicator as they can not survive long in moisture. I'm already working on some waterproof sensors. Will share soon. 👍

    Love your content.
    Can you show how to activate your esp/tasmota buzzer in homeassistant using this pir sensor.
    Cheers

    • @the_vccground
      @the_vccground  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's very easy brother. Watch video 46 and configure the pir sensor as explained. Then watch video 47 and configure your buzzer too. Now create an automation as shown in video 47, but in trigger field, select your already configured PIR sensor instead of Printer.
      And now, whenever a motion is detected by PIR sensor, it will trigger the automation and the buzzer will beep. Hope I'm able to explain well.

      I am a new user and was trying to use a sonoff pir. now i understand that i must use esp32 with pir.

    • @the_vccground
      @the_vccground  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@velvetpigcnc Not necessarily. You can also use Sonoff to connect a PIR and a buzzer and control them independently or from Home Assistant.

    I have made a room light with this pir sensor but sensitivity is not perfect just like i have seen in automatic gate opening sensing in hospital or in mall

    • @the_vccground
      @the_vccground  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are right. The gate opening sensor uses advanced infrared sensors to detect your presence.

    Good content! For Sonoff motion sensor, cooldown time is 1 min. Is there any way to reduce the cooldown time?

    • @the_vccground
      @the_vccground  ปีที่แล้ว

      As per the Sonoff team, due to power consumption and power-saving considerations, there have been some restrictions on the triggers.
      That is, If the device does not detect any movement for one minute, it will send a signal upon trigger.
      If any movement is detected within one minute, the device will not send a trigger. And effective detection and trigger signals will be delayed for one minute. It means the Sonoff motion sensors work with one-minute interval.

      @@the_vccground Philips Hue has 10 sec. Aqura has 1 sec. But sonoff has 60 sec - 180 sec. I did not know that before buying it. Searching for a way if i can reduce the trigger time. Otherwise need to buy again Aqura or Philips Hue

    How do you get mqtt host details?

    • @the_vccground
      @the_vccground  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's the IP address of your mqtt server. I use home assistant and having a mqtt server integrated, hence I gave it's IP address in mqtt host field.
