What a lot of gorgeous material for a unbelievable price! What fun you will have or have had. I love finding neat bargains on fabric and crafting stuff. Violet in Canada
I havent sewn in 30 years. My church friend, turned to me and said you need new clothes. I explained that due to my body morophology. I am not comfortable wearing things that are not loose. I kept thinking about it...i have become a horder of fabric 99% thrifted. I am about to make an entire new wardrobe.A to Z.
I am also a very large collection of fabric, second hand from either the Salvation Army Fabric Fairs or Thrift Stores....those new prices are just too high! This new wardrobe you are going to make sounds like a very fun and rewarding endeavor! I love the idea of it and think I myself would enjoy the challenge and reward of it. Plus you will have a wardrobe totally unique to you:)
Yes, sewing is a passion for me. I started sewing my own clothes at age 9. I made everything I wore for 30 years. Then my own illness and my husbands serious health issues and his death ended it all. Also lack of funds. We were literally starving at one point. I was going to restart quilting. Got a frame, took 2 machines to the shop, thrifted lots of clothing, bought a cutter, etc
I am sorry you have had these challenges:(. This sounds so awesome to start this passion back up! I love to sew but have time restraints...well more so other more pressing things that take up my time. I do hope to someday start sewing more. Maybe that someday should be soon!
Wow, lady! You really hit the fabric jackpot! Whenever I go thrifting for fabric and sewing supplies, I tend to find more dress makers fabric than quilting fabric. Meanwhile, I'll keep looking and hoping for the best to find hidden treasures that will save me money and I'll keep watching your channel too.
Awww thank you! It seems to be that I always find what I am not looking for, and it’s when I least expect it! It was an incredible blessing stumbling across all that good quality cotton quilting fabric!
Looks like someone destashed their stash or a quilter’s stash was donated. Your animal prints look like Tula Pink and I saw some other pieces I thought were by her. You really scored. So glad for you.
If you are buying for girls in your family....although the fabric might have been for quilting, you could make clothing for those sweet girls. My great grandmother sewed with flour sacks. She made clothing for all us young girls and boys. I inherited a very special quilt from her. It was all gibblets of the flour sacks that she made our clothes friom. All hand made, every stitch.
I love to sew all things! And I would love to sew clothing for my girls but time seems to get in the way🙃. I also have a little situation with sewing space. However, I may very soon have an actual area for sewing so maybe that will help make it more feasible!l😊 Do you like to sew? I have seen some flour sack cloth and some items my great grandmother made from them. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could use our packaging like that today?! Thank you for commenting and sharing🥰
@@Stitching_grandma Thank you😊I am in awe still myself. It was incredible! I keep going back hoping to have that magical experience again…so far no luck🙁.
