That's the beauty of early game Genshin exploration. One second you're heading towards a quest waypoint and then the next second you're battling some masked dude with a gun 2x your level in an area where some cold shit is apparently killing you slowly all for some raggedy looking chest that gives you 1/80th of a wish.
Well, gotta agree when there's a lot of water, ofc it's not bad, you get to know other characters, but for lore progression it actually is slow. And also, I wish they didn't just put so much lore into books or manga. But some cinematic, and I don't care if it has less quality than cinematics we already have. Just want them to be voiced by smn, and told like some tail. When we open books or whatever, I haven't thought that far
@@Pepplo He is playable character that you'll also meet in Liyue main archon quest. After you finish the main quest, you'll be able to play his story quest, lore stuff if it interests you,but you'll get to play as him and check his skillz out.

My experience with the game was similar to you, atleast initially Later, i felt bad i never tried it earlier My friends had all recommended this game The best part of the game is that almost all the areas of the game are unique and doesnt feel repetitive (You still have a shit ton of area left to explore) And the art style is just mind blowing as equally relaxing it is

@@Frogghh Well, it has been 2 weeks so IDK what did you do in the meantime but Genshin is kinda similar to BOTW or TOTK on just stamina-wise and how you travel across on the map. Dungeons, which similar to shrines, is just similar on the first quests and all-over gaming or combat experience is different. Latest Zeldas' some kind of logical and semi-realistic enviromental interactions like burning the glass would make wind, stopping the time and hitting an object to fly it etc. is cannot be seen in Genshin Impact. Still there is things like if you burn the grass with fiery attacks, and if you walk among them you will burn or if you enter a sea effected by electrical attacks then you will take damage but as I mentioned it is not valuable or "strong" as Zelda's latest titles. Elements, as you can see in the video, are more obvious and their first purpose is to be used on combat. Genshin, is all about collecting the right characters with right elements to interact with each other to use them on the right team and overcome the fights that game has you to offer. And, with that, pretty unique universe and very detailed story which inspired from "Annunaki Hyposthesis." But, to this day, story hasn't came to an end and there is at least 2 years for it to happen. But Genshin, above most of its gameplay offerings, is a gacha game. So you won't take the same things as Zelda titles at all. I play them both, and I love them both. But it would be so unfair to compare these two since they are trying to do very different things. Zelda is a core, exploration and freedom based RPG game while Genshin is a gacha, online service based RPG game.
Lots of respect for actually trying the game, lots of people judge it on it’s character designs and community. I used to be a Genshin hater, but my friend reccomended it, so I gave it a try and I’m at AR45 rn. Genshin might not be for everyone, but it has a lot of lore, and that’s why I play it. Tip: a shielder can tank damage a lot, so it’s good if you don’t want to dodge/can’t dodge.

Not gonna lie, never understood the hate about Genshin, it's just like the Tesla hate or something. Some random guy decided one day he was gonna hate forever something because he didn't like the thing for no real reason, and now it's a thing people that never ever even tried it once hate too. came to Genshin because it's an open world like Breath of the Wild at the time, and with gacha mechanics, 2 things that I love, wasn't here for the story, but the more I played, the more I liked the story. Some had their stupid ruling justified because they tugged on the heartstrings of the mentally ill. Some just watched their friend devolve into stupidity and only did something when the traveler came. Honestly, I felt the same when I first saw the character artifacts menu. I didn’t know that artifacts were for buffing our characters’ damage/healing/defense, so I just put the artifacts that looked good on my favorite character. Safe to say that my damage during my earlier gameplays was so low. Now, I am able to make more than 20k damage.

as a 2 year player i enjoyed watching this.i remember the pain of going through the mondstadt main story on 2 of my accounts ( have over 20 cause i made one in each region) and ik how painful it can be. keep it up man.

Although i like genshin impact a lot i literally had basically the same start as you i skipped all the dialogue and was getting sick of everything and i didn't know or care how anything worked but i didn't hate it enough to stop so i kept going and eventually once i realized how much of the map there was to explore i actually started liking it because the exploration is something i really like in games. I think it's generally just up to what kind of game you like and it's definitely not for everyone
@@user-dn1ri8jo6qsame here, i fresh start a new account and bcs i felt that i did too many things wrongly in my last account (AR 55 but shitty build) so i create new account and played it for 2 weeks and went to AR 35 now almost completed archon quest inazuma, opened up dragon spine and all statue all the way to fountaine, and my build isnt as trashy as the last account, so i can kill mobs and its definitely more entertaining for me now 🤣 I decided to build aether as my first dps bcs its f2p friendly. Most will suggest anemo as yout startiny chara. But i just love geo traveler. Now hes C6 with lv 8 basic atk, lv 9 skill 2, and lv9 burst.
The exploration is what hooked me in. The combat, story, quests are all pretty boring. But once I explored everything, I was "eh, there's nothing else for me to do" and gave up. I heard that they added a new location but I have no interest in playing the game ever again.
i never get why peoppe skip dialogues in any game😭 ive never intr tionally skipped a dialogue in any game(that i have not yet read, if its a dialogue that appeared twice already, then i would skip it). i just see no point in skippin, otherwise i would have been lost in the lore and directions. never skip dialogues, fellas!
If you don't care about the story then you will fall out of love with this game really quickly, unless you really really really love exploring. At the end of the day it's a story game, with a lot of lore too.
Yeah, I feel like the majority of the fanbase who have a love/hate relationship with Genshin are those who play exactly like this. The game is heavily story driven; you not only lose out a lot but also just lead yourself to be very very bored because the devs don’t focus on endgame for those who like the combat and ignore everything else.

Finished with the story up to date & Fully Max lv with Max lv weapons and decent to great artifact sets AND able 36 star the Abyss.. otherwise- ppl shouldn't complain there is no end game content when theres still 3-4 more regions that needs to be released and wont be for awhile bc its being worked on.. The real end game would be when a game is complete... so- these endgame complainers need to come back to Genshin in 10 years or so where the game would be fully complete.. just my hot take..🤔🤔
I've gone into Genshin as someone who absolutly doesn't like gacha games and I'm playing to this day because the story, the world and the characters are great and the gacha was surprisingly light. I compare it to Wareframe, were you can play the other frames but you don't have to and it just changes the gameplay.

My recommendation for anyone who is going to play genshin is find a character that you want to pull for. I highly recommend that you check the current banners. And I suggest that you pull for wanderer. He is a really cool character in the lore and he is really fun to play.
@@F-I-N-A-L-I-T-Y but new genshin players also have to consider that when they want a character, like for example if they want Wanderer, then they have to get to his region which is sumeru to get his materials that he needs to even build him and such. its gonna take awhile to get to sumeru and unluck the whole map too as a new genshin player

So many haters stem from the community and many new haters joined blindly without knowing the truth. People should know that you cant play every game since everyone has different tastes in games and you should never let their "fandoms" stop you to avoid a game (unless storage lol). as someone who is also a hater of genshin, I also tried it and I would say I hate it slightly less but the fans and community is what makes me dislike the game. The amount of people who like the little children in the game in a sexual way is genuinely disgusting but is say the game is a solid 5/10

Btw i personally have been playing this game from 3 years as f2p and I love this game. i feel like u should try to be f2p too it is honestly better than p2w experience, cause i only see P2w people bitching about characters since they have spent life savings on them while we get them for free by being lucky lmao so it just feels good to be better so u are more greatful for having that character. You can get most of the 5 star characters u really desire by grinding and having patience and alot kf 4 star characters u will almost have all the 4 star characters in game even as f2p. Apart from that in terms of gameplay you dont need to spend at all. And personally i have never felt like spending money on this game since i am not a min max meta freak. I love the characters which i already have and there are quite alot of 5 star characters I got even as a f2p and u will too!

Ok I have to say that this video is awesome, you played 12 hours and gave a good review, I play genshin but is like, I play a month and the next month I don't play, Genshin has good gameplay and exploration but is so slow at the start trying to get you in the Lore (Fun fact: The creators are fans of Evangelion so yes they like to make things complicated even when there is no need to) That's a big barrier for players so a lot of people in Genshin are more likelySmash the Space bar so muuch, I'm a Lore nerd so I just smash the space bar when the dialogs have no new information or relevance (like 30% of the times). Would say more of genshin but is not needed, Idea for next video if you have time to release it next year: "Honkai Star Rail", a turn based game with more interesting Dialogs than genshin and good experience overall, Just a suggestion from a random internet guy Subscribing :3
As a Genshin player I really love the game as more importantly the lore within it. But goodness this game needs to work on how they deliver their information. There’s improvement further into the game but like, Diluc has this entire traumatic backstory and you only find out about it from reading his character story or straight up reading the Genshin Manga. Like so many things are explained there, Kaeya and Diluc’s dynamic is explained there and not in the game. WHY? Also they are not lovers, just two brothers being salty over a man’s death

I share the same feeling, as I once was a genshin hater too. At that time almost all of my classmates are obsessed with that game and I was kind of...misled by the comments on the internet. I naively thought all the genshin players are chubby short-sighted guys, and taht game sucks. But last year when I tried that myself because of curiosity, it turns out that the game is more than fantastic! The last 3D game I played is only minecraft which is first released in 2009. I can't believe that just in ten years our computer tech& art has evolved so much. It feels like...the me in the past was way too stupid...haha Now l've decided to forever live in teyvat. 9:39 imma say this for future generations, to clear the exclamation marks on 'voice overs' you dont need to click on all the voice lines. you just need to acknowledge that you got some new ones and dont even have to check them. you can just click 'voice overs' -> esc and the mark will be gone!
I almost had a heart attack when you leveled up a 1 star bow. Though I believe that your rating is pretty fair when you do no dmg and tried the game out for the first time while relying on google for your answers. You did a pretty good job if I do say so myself. Also, you do fight the dragon but that's in act 3 of the main quest
The combat once you get enough strong characters is probably the best part of the game for me besides the story, but I don’t know if the grind to do so is really worth it
I do feel like parts of Mondstadt's overall questline was dragged out a bit too much, like the first fight with Dvalin was a bit of a letdown. They managed to fix some stuff by introducing more characters but I feel like a snappier albeit shorter mainline quest would've made things way more interesting.
The 'goblins'.... Oh god their lore is DARK Anyways as a genshin player the lore gets like VERY dark. In the newest chapter theres human trafficking, drugs, kidnapping, and turning people into water
I feel the need to clarify. Kaeya and Diluc don't have a romantic relationship, it's just some weirdos shipping then together. I swear their strained brotherhood is one of the best relationships in the game and I feel very sad at how the first thing you found about them was something that stupid, and worst of all, untrue.

@@Frogghh Well, it has been 2 weeks so IDK what did you do in the meantime but Genshin is kinda similar to BOTW or TOTK on just stamina-wise and how you travel across on the map. Dungeons, which similar to shrines, is just similar on the first quests and all-over gaming or combat experience is different. Latest Zeldas' some kind of logical and semi-realistic enviromental interactions like burning the glass would make wind, stopping the time and hitting an object to fly it etc. is cannot be seen in Genshin Impact. Still there is things like if you burn the grass with fiery attacks, and if you walk among them you will burn or if you enter a sea effected by electrical attacks then you will take damage but as I mentioned it is not valuable or "strong" as Zelda's latest titles. Elements, as you can see in the video, are more obvious and their first purpose is to be used on combat. Genshin, is all about collecting the right characters with right elements to interact with each other to use them on the right team and overcome the fights that game has you to offer. And, with that, pretty unique universe and very detailed story which inspired from "Annunaki Hyposthesis." But, to this day, story hasn't came to an end and there is at least 2 years for it to happen.
But Genshin, above most of its gameplay offerings, is a gacha game. So you won't take the same things as Zelda titles at all. I play them both, and I love them both. But it would be so unfair to compare these two since they are trying to do very different things. Zelda is a core, exploration and freedom based RPG game while Genshin is a gacha, online service based RPG game.

Lots of respect for actually trying the game, lots of people judge it on it’s character designs and community. I used to be a Genshin hater, but my friend reccomended it, so I gave it a try and I’m at AR45 rn. Genshin might not be for everyone, but it has a lot of lore, and that’s why I play it.
Tip: a shielder can tank damage a lot, so it’s good if you don’t want to dodge/can’t dodge.
Except if you are in that one minigame to train for your battle with Ei. I know for a fact that many Zhongli players struggled with that one.

came to Genshin because it's an open world like Breath of the Wild at the time, and with gacha mechanics, 2 things that I love, wasn't here for the story, but the more I played, the more I liked the story.

The others, hoyo failed to do them justice. Some had an entire arc dedicated to them only to be thrown aside during the biggest boss fight. Some had their stupid ruling justified because they tugged on the heartstrings of the mentally ill. Some just watched their friend devolve into stupidity and only did something when the traveler came. Some were soldiers without writing that was gud enough to explore that fact and instead was regulated into mentally ill fish lady who somehow led a war.
It all just seems incomplete to say the least.

Honestly, I felt the same when I first saw the character artifacts menu. I didn’t know that artifacts were for buffing our characters’ damage/healing/defense, so I just put the artifacts that looked good on my favorite character.
Safe to say that my damage during my earlier gameplays was so low. Now, I am able to make more than 20k damage.
I just Deleted the game not so long ago it was getting to hard and that takes the fun out of the game to be honest

Although i like genshin impact a lot i literally had basically the same start as you i skipped all the dialogue and was getting sick of everything and i didn't know or care how anything worked but i didn't hate it enough to stop so i kept going and eventually once i realized how much of the map there was to explore i actually started liking it because the exploration is something i really like in games. I think it's generally just up to what kind of game you like and it's definitely not for everyone

I decided to build aether as my first dps bcs its f2p friendly. Most will suggest anemo as yout startiny chara. But i just love geo traveler. Now hes C6 with lv 8 basic atk, lv 9 skill 2, and lv9 burst.
The exploration is what hooked me in. The combat, story, quests are all pretty boring. But once I explored everything, I was "eh, there's nothing else for me to do" and gave up. I heard that they added a new location but I have no interest in playing the game ever again.
i never get why peoppe skip dialogues in any game😭 ive never intr tionally skipped a dialogue in any game(that i have not yet read, if its a dialogue that appeared twice already, then i would skip it). i just see no point in skippin, otherwise i would have been lost in the lore and directions. never skip dialogues, fellas!

If you don't care about the story then you will fall out of love with this game really quickly, unless you really really really love exploring. At the end of the day it's a story game, with a lot of lore too.
Yeah, I feel like the majority of the fanbase who have a love/hate relationship with Genshin are those who play exactly like this. The game is heavily story driven; you not only lose out a lot but also just lead yourself to be very very bored because the devs don’t focus on endgame for those who like the combat and ignore everything else.

I've gone into Genshin as someone who absolutly doesn't like gacha games and I'm playing to this day because the story, the world and the characters are great and the gacha was surprisingly light. I compare it to Wareframe, were you can play the other frames but you don't have to and it just changes the gameplay.

My recommendation for anyone who is going to play genshin is find a character that you want to pull for. I highly recommend that you check the current banners. And I suggest that you pull for wanderer. He is a really cool character in the lore and he is really fun to play.
@@F-I-N-A-L-I-T-Y but new genshin players also have to consider that when they want a character, like for example if they want Wanderer, then they have to get to his region which is sumeru to get his materials that he needs to even build him and such. its gonna take awhile to get to sumeru and unluck the whole map too as a new genshin player

I REALLY appreciate players like you. Hater or not, you tried it and hated it for good reason and isnt toxic about it. So many haters stem from the community and many new haters joined blindly without knowing the truth. People should know that you cant play every game since everyone has different tastes in games and you should never let their "fandoms" stop you to avoid a game (unless storage lol). Genshin to me is perfect bcus its rather relaxing for me and i like taking things slow despite being a damage whore. I read all the lore and played each quest attentively and slowly so its so much enjoyable to me. But i can see why there are people bored with it. But its honestly based on taste in the end

Btw i personally have been playing this game from 3 years as f2p and I love this game. i feel like u should try to be f2p too it is honestly better than p2w experience, cause i only see P2w people bitching about characters since they have spent life savings on them while we get them for free by being lucky lmao so it just feels good to be better so u are more greatful for having that character. You can get most of the 5 star characters u really desire by grinding and having patience and alot kf 4 star characters u will almost have all the 4 star characters in game even as f2p. Apart from that in terms of gameplay you dont need to spend at all. And personally i have never felt like spending money on this game since i am not a min max meta freak. I love the characters which i already have and there are quite alot of 5 star characters I got even as a f2p and u will too!

Ok I have to say that this video is awesome, you played 12 hours and gave a good review, I play genshin but is like, I play a month and the next month I don't play, Genshin has good gameplay and exploration but is so slow at the start trying to get you in the Lore (Fun fact: The creators are fans of Evangelion so yes they like to make things complicated even when there is no need to) That's a big barrier for players so a lot of people in Genshin are more likelySmash the Space bar so muuch, I'm a Lore nerd so I just smash the space bar when the dialogs have no new information or relevance (like 30% of the times).
Would say more of genshin but is not needed, Idea for next video if you have time to release it next year: "Honkai Star Rail", a turn based game with more interesting Dialogs than genshin and good experience overall, Just a suggestion from a random internet guy

As a Genshin player I really love the game as more importantly the lore within it. But goodness this game needs to work on how they deliver their information. There’s improvement further into the game but like, Diluc has this entire traumatic backstory and you only find out about it from reading his character story or straight up reading the Genshin Manga. Like so many things are explained there, Kaeya and Diluc’s dynamic is explained there and not in the game. WHY? Also they are not lovers, just two brothers being salty over a man’s death

I share the same feeling, as I once was a genshin hater too. At that time almost all of my classmates are obsessed with that game and I was kind of...misled by the comments on the internet. I naively thought all the genshin players are chubby short-sighted guys, and taht game sucks. But last year when I tried that myself because of curiosity, it turns out that the game is more than fantastic! The last 3D game I played is only minecraft which is first released in 2009. I can't believe that just in ten years our computer tech& art has evolved so much. It feels like...the me in the past was way too stupid...haha Now l've decided to forever live in teyvat. (btw, the maximum adventure rank is 60)

9:39 imma say this for future generations, to clear the exclamation marks on 'voice overs' you dont need to click on all the voice lines. you just need to acknowledge that you got some new ones and dont even have to check them. you can just click 'voice overs' -> esc and the mark will be gone!

I almost had a heart attack when you leveled up a 1 star bow. Though I believe that your rating is pretty fair when you do no dmg and tried the game out for the first time while relying on google for your answers. You did a pretty good job if I do say so myself. Also, you do fight the dragon but that's in act 3 of the main quest
The combat once you get enough strong characters is probably the best part of the game for me besides the story, but I don’t know if the grind to do so is really worth it

I do feel like parts of Mondstadt's overall questline was dragged out a bit too much, like the first fight with Dvalin was a bit of a letdown. They managed to fix some stuff by introducing more characters but I feel like a snappier albeit shorter mainline quest would've made things way more interesting.
