Thanks a lot Mr. Kalm for getting these close shots so we can see the materials, their texture and so on. Each of every piece of Polke's work has an effect on me that I can't put it in words. Your comments are between an amateur and a expertise. Very accessible and instructive for general public. Thank you again.

possibly, my very favorite artist of all time - his work is so consistently brilliant. pure genius. James Kalm is the coolest most informative reviewer of them all. very knowledgeable and entertaining.

Thank you Kate. Some wonderful works. There really is nothing like your videos to really get to see an artist's work up close and in detail. So grateful here in the Pyrenees to be able to enjoy so much amazing painting.

I'm really happy I found this! 5 years later. Polke is one of my favorites. Thanks for the reporting! Now that I'm down in Louisiana, your reports are much needed.

I watched this a couple of times whaat a interesting Artist. aside from his inovative combos of mateials I am most imressed by how freely he paints in such a daring way.

All those works have some death vibe. Like decay, malfunction, plastic garbage, filthy stains...

Polke is the european version of Julian Schnabel - like them both just cultural attitudes.

Nice... gives me a new view of Polke. I was always put off by the representational stuff. Too Pop and regressive, I thought. You show the physical manipulation of material, where the content lies. And, I think it totally appropriate for a german man to title his work in german. I don't think he saw them as fancy... Americans can be such idiots, as we see in our politics, every day.

James, you are trying very hard to explain the paintings. Hard to do with all this decorative stuff. Really a third rate painter who revels in texture, splashes, and all sorts of tricks. Giving fancy titles in German does not do the trick.

      Paul Tschinkel like “ohne title”?
