Woaw, incredible and easy to understand tutorial. Thank you! I was pretty confident up until to the SubD seciton and it blew my mind. I've never worked with SubD yet (pretty new to Rhino 7 actually). Very informative, as of all your videos. Thank you.
Thanks, really interesting video! I would like to ask you something. After 3d printing, if we decide to cast to get a metal piece, would there be a downsizing percentage?
when i boolean union the jali pipe pattern i face Surface intersection error. I saw some solution in your Q/A playlist by changing the coordinate of the pipe, but can we group it and print in 3d printer? or is there any easier solution to overcome that
@@PJChenJewelryDesign thanks, closed polysurface is consider solid right. if they are solid i just group them to make them easier to maintain during the design?
I personally use Phrozen, but I have heard many other good brands as well. There are several groups on FB you can join to get the most update information.
Hi PJ; I was really curios about the design of such jewelry pieces, now you enlightened me:) In order to print and cast such pieces in precious metals; which resin printer you suggest? Will 4k be enough or I will need something else? Need your recommendation;thanks a lot
The 3D printer is getting more affordable nowadays. The fine detail use to print in wax with solidscape wax printer but now there are 8k resin printer. I have a 4k printer and the resolution is good enough for most of jewelry line engagement ring. I believe 8k will have super surface but I have not try one myself.
@@PJChenJewelryDesign yeah, that is what I heard about 8k printers;they have perfect surface finish. So bad I can't find any in Turkey right now; since I doubt about 4k, I keep my money right now. Thanks for reply, love your work, keep up:)
Hi PJ, What is it that changes when you change from a degree 2 to a degree 3 curve? If the explanation is too long for here, maybe you could take a minute to explain next time you do it in a video?
Thanks for the lesson! You've got very soft and nice voice and very nice presentation
Thank you! 😃
Thanks a lot, this channel is helping me pass some uni classes. I'll be forever grateful.
That is super!
FANSTASTIC! such an intricate design and yet simple to make in Rhino
Rhino is great for this type of surface.

Thank you PJ!
You are very welcome
Hi I have a ask Jewelry CAD Dream
Can make a brazalet More wire with off rhinoseros AND you can try to make a watches or pieces of watches
Hi PJ Chen. Nice video. This type of surface is called a "surface of opposite curvatures".
thanks
Also known as anticlastic in metal forming.
@@dustin2740 that is right. almost forget.
Nice work ! 😉
Thanks 😁

You can check on this video, which I interviewed a casting manufacture owner to discuss the possibility. th-cam.com/video/67g2yhXjUeM/w-d-xo.html

Also long as all the parts are solid, they don't have to be boolean in order to 3D print.

Pj, What minimum wireframe pipe diameter would you recommend for casting? From personal experience. Ive never had filigree cast
It depends on how big is the model, and how tight of the structure between wire
thank you really helped me
Glad it helped!
can we join the networkwireframe? i unable union the surface of the network
you can boolean union them. if not, I have several videos discuss why boolean not working in Q/A playlist. check them out!!
@@PJChenJewelryDesign yes i did use boolean union , only some are able to join but others not , thanks will check on the Q/A playlist
Nice one..
Thanks 😊

Hi, I’m just starting out and looking for a low budget 3D printer for jewelry. Do you guys have any recommendations?
I personally use Phrozen, but I have heard many other good brands as well. There are several groups on FB you can join to get the most update information.
Thank you. Base on what I found it’s either Phrozen 4K or Mars 3, are the options.
