I love a boy bonding. I have 4 boys together. We call it the bachelor pad. It’s quite a story. I started with 2 Silkies (George and Brad) and was fostering another Silky (Clark). Clark kept getting into the other Silkies’ cage. I finally just let him stay and adopted him. I was then given an elderly Teddy (Hudson). Hudson was sleeping all day and that is the kiss of death for guinea pigs. I decided to try him with Clark to give him a friend and motivate him to move more. Clark loves him. It was a match. Several months later, our 8 year old Abby died and Mud Flap was left without a friend. On a whim, I decided to try him with Hudson and Clark. It was party. They lived together for about a year when Brad died. What the heck, let’s see if George can go in with the boys. Apparently, he was one of the bros. So that’s how the bachelor pad was created.

Aww. Coco got a good home and two new pals (even if Cookie seems a little confused by her.) I'm glad Casper and Rosie eventually got along and I love the sounds in the video, from Caspar's first purr to the rumbling and chattering.

I just love the good y’all do with the rescue! I very much wish we had one down here in New Orleans. I became a first-time piggy owner back in 2018, and I’ve never looked back. I absolutely adore my little girls and am a HUGE advocate for these precious creatures (for all animals, but especially these). So sweet. I can’t wait to have floor time with my sweeties today!

Oh my last time I heard guinea pig purring like that was with my boys furball when his twin brother fuzzball was alive. He would be in good mood every time he hold him. Then again his twin brother made him feel better after his twin brother passed away. Well he just sat there with the little bit of sadness in his eyes even with his cage partner from the pet store. Since it was him and his twin brother and this other guinea pig his cage partner he felt a little bit different. I guess this brings back that memory

We separated our boys when Austin stopped using his back legs and Jasper started chasing him around. Austin, at 1 year, has degenerative arthritis. (Oh my word I cried!) Anyway, we put them in separate cages and treated Austin - he seems to be doing very very well. When he gets free roam time he runs to Jasper’s cage and they rumble. They have free range time together and they run around and do quite well. I’d like to put them back together in a huge new cage. There’s never been blood or gnashing of teeth. Good idea or bad?

In a really big enclosure it good work really well, especially with lots of tunnels and houses with 2 entrances.

Glad that all of the piggies were able to be bonded even little Coco. My first piggie was named Coco and you couldn't ask for a sweeter pig.

So great to actually see boys bond successfully. There's a lot of bond attempt videos, but almost all of them end in failure. My own two boys still to this day have refused to bond. Every 6 months or so I re-introduce them and hope age has softened them, but it always ends in blood shed, or esclation that is clearly heading in that direction again and as such they're both stuck in too small cages since I had to split their appropriately sized cag in half (with wire grids so they can still see each other) and while I had just enough space for an appropriately sized cage for 2 guinea pigs to share, my tiny home doesn't have the space to fit 2 appropriately sized cages side by side. Thus the hope some day I can remove the separator, but its looking less and less likely that will ever be the case. I'd try to separate and re-home them, but they've already been abandoned by two previous owners before I rescued them so I'm hesitant to make them go through all that again.

Maybe stacking 2x3s like Kaveecage.net has. Or putting one under a table like my set up. Then they could just spend time in a playpen. Pros and cons to each. If they stay in a 2x2 each make sure they get running floor time. Also vitamin c is good for their heart

Sorry Scotty but they are not cry babies, and they don’t understand teasing 😈 lots of books that I have read from the people that have studied them tell us not to tease 😈 them so please don’t tease them and not to force them if you were to think about when you put them two in a small space to bond them, they are all ready like who is this, it would be like putting you and another stranger in a small space that you couldn’t get out of and if you are scared of them and there was a little hide just enough for you and the the stranger to fit into and the big hands came in and put you and stranger into the hide when you wasn’t ready I know that you would say something , i know that not all of them are the same but for the ones that are we need to be more understanding because the only way that a guinea pig has to tell you that i does not want to be forced they will cry out what would you do if something was forcing you to do something that don’t want to do the one that was crying out I could see that it was breathing hard, you have some of the best information on guinea pigs, and l love ❤️ you videos I’m just trying to help out that’s all and keep up your great work with the piggies
