From the US. Pennsylvania. We have a Horizon sunflower that is upward facing. They worked out fantastic in bouquets last year for me :)
We also have a white swan marigold. They grew and worked in bouquets great as well

Hello! You'll love the upward facing sunflowers! I'm in PA, USA and have been growing the horizon variety for many years. It is much easier to use it in bouquets. I also grow the others as well. I like the combination of both. Happy growing!! 💐🌻

This is the first time I’ve watched your video and your advice is really helpful. I’ve always been too impatient to plant seeds so hearing more about their germination time preferences will hopefully help me to have more success with growing. Thank you

Nice surprise seeing you this morning, here in the states it's 8am when I'm watching. Your plans make sense to me. I've noticed over the last 10 yrs, my rainy season has been moving each month thru winter. This past month we've had a lot of rain, which had previously started in Oct.

Hello Sarah. I've been binge watching your videos to catch up. I just can't believe how lovely your bouquets are. A very different style than U.S. I love it! It won't matter if you change it up, some how you always come up with beautifuly bouquet. I'm hoping that you do more videos on putting the bouquets together. It doesn't have to be extensive (explaining each flower), but to show us the end results once you're done. I know doing videos can be time consuming; my son is a youtuber as well. Thanks again!

Marigolds... Second year of growing the tall orange here in New Zealand for bouquets. They go great with the giant purple Asters and dahlias.. Also get snapped up as dried bouquet when I place them amongst white statice. They are even more intense orange dried! . Looking forward to following your 2024 journey ❤

US grower here - so I'm not sure of availability in the UK, but Kilamanjaro White is one of my favorite marigolds. Procut Horizon sunflowers are a staple and I LOVE the upright habit. Total game changer. You'll love them. ❤ Can't wait to see what this season brings!

New course - exciting 😊 I grow Vincent’s choice and Vincent’s fresh for sunflowers- they are upward facing and have a semi double petal layer so you can pull the odd petal out if bug damaged etc. Also love me some marigolds! Coco deep orange is my favourite and grows well in my climate which I think is pretty similar to the uk - 25 degrees is a hot day for us and we’re pretty humid.

Can you tell me if you sow cosmos, snap dragon and larkspur in an unseated greenhouse with no extra heat, as all my seed packets say need heat 15 degrees and above. The current weather forecast here in Watford is a bit bleak. Could you let me know when you get a moment as I saw no heat in the video. Even larkspur requires 15 degrees.

    • @bloomandgray

Zone 7a in USA. I toss my cosmos and larkspur seed straight into the garden between Dec and March, it actually grows well in the cold and tiny 1" sprouts made it through a snowstorm.

I always put the seeds in an old tupperware container on moist kitchen roll. Make sure the container is dark as they like the dark to germinate. They always germinate after around 5 days then pot them up. Hope this helps!
