So was I. Remember the band was an hour and a half late making it to the stage, and all the limos that surrounded the Forum. Mick was at the top of his game, but Charlie kicked ass.
Prior to tonight when I found this video, the last and only time in my life I saw the Lotus Stage open up with Jagger at the top was live in 1975 at Madison Square Garden. That memory has lived in my brain ever since. A huge thank you for posting this. P.s. that was the most exciting start to any concert I have ever seen. Saw them last month (August 2019) in New Jersey and they were amazing.
I was there ! Billy Preston was the opening act and My buddy & I picked up 2 girls sitting in front of us ! Great Night ! Plus I saw Ronnie Wood just a few weeks earlier with Rod Stewart & Faces and then he quit the Faces and joined the Stones ! ! !
The video doesn't show it well, but it was a folded up star.....when they came on the star opened up and Mick was on the tip looking at the audience. It was fucking AWESOME!!
I was there too .RW just left faces, joined for this tour. This sounds really good..Even better than MT versions ..An excellent tour energy extremely high. RW had an energetic influence during this show which is obvious Thet had lost that with Taylor..They are nothing like this now..SAD HOW THEY KEEP TRYING ..ITS OVER, END IT!! LOVE YOU LIVE ...FOREVER RS....
Great show. The forum was moving during HT woman..Keef looked purple due to near OD levels of herion in him. Good mexican heroin he scored in LA..RW just joined band after his run with FACES...He was great, different than MT.. Not better, not worse, just different. Some stuff he played better, some not so. He jumpstarted a dying band with his playful energy...Jaggar was drunk, not coked out that night..I remember it well tickets were cheap, I saw them few yrs earlier w/Taylor. The band was anemic then. Not so this night...The folding stage was cool, only in nyc &LA did they use it. The big inflatable cock during Star Star..Jaggar fondled it on stage..Notice how no other band members acted as such.. Only Jaggar.. Billy Preston & Keef had problems this tour. Keef actually pulled a knife on him for playing to loud.. Classic Richards..How and why people trash this tour not the shitty MT tours and nights. When he played lacking emotion & vigor.. The best tour I saw them. Way better than 80s crap..The 70s were a blast, so was this show..
I'm probably going to get nailed for saying this, but I've studied this video many times and I've been a fan since 1972. Warning: Gimme Shelter has voodoo vibes. Don't let your young children listen to it. Look what happened to me! Now, about this particular show. When things are going well, Mick likes to throw in a few words between songs. That means he's relaxed. When he doesn't utter one syllable, something's wrong. What I feel is wrong with this vid is that Mick and Bill Wyman are the only ones doing their job that night. If you watch Mick's movements during Gimme Shelter he looks FURIOUS! I think what happened was thata everybody was too fucking wasted to perform. If you notice during YGTM, Keith doesn't even know where he is! It's not until the beginning of TD that Mick turns around and smiles at Charlie. Now, unlike some, I'm in no way insisting that my claims are etched in Stone. They're observations from years of watching them live. I saw them a week later in Seattle and was in the front row. I could tell it was a great show. I feel this is one of the weakest of the LA shows, and one of the weakest of the 75 tour, entirely due to Keith and Ronnie's partying and not keeping their minds on why they were there: the fans. Please don't take this to be an aspersion cast at the band. It's just that it wasn't a good night, and they were being filmed, and more than likely paying for it. Any input on my post is entirely welcome.
Yeah, one these was my first one; most likely not this one, more likely the first or last show since I don't recall The Eagles opening like they did this night! In any case, at 16 years old, I was up in the front for a whilebut a which tune I was booted back to my real seat I think I was still up front since I can remember 'Heartbreaker' from in front which isn't for another 10 tunes after this part ends? However I'm sorry to be negative but it was typical of dumb ass film directors back in those days ever worse previously back to the 60's who where so used to filming television shows and so forth that they too often using a camera that is filming the face of someone playing a guitar solo or the like. Yet here with this one, what is this director thinking showing them from behind so much? Augy, San Diego
...lol....’such an inspired, joyful performance. ..lol.. No wonder, and thank goodness, punk rock was blooming down on the Bowery as this charade was being perpetrated.
You can hear them pretty well on Love You Live. (certain songs) Ollie Brown is a really good drummer and actually switched with Charlie during the Billy Preston tunes. Too funky for Mr. Watts...
@@josephgurzynski1053 Watts refused to play on them...it was a Preston contractual demand, B believing he was the star as he was on the George Harrison tour in 74. Ollie played on a lot of good records in the 70s also w Stevie Wonder.
My Pop's seen this show at the L.A. forum , which @the time was the biggest arena to play in. He told me that you could feel the presence of the devil
i was there with my best friend Steve Hessing ✌🎶❤

Wow! I didn't know, they did that.
I saw this tour with the lotus stage, at Earls Court London. The best ever opening to a show, just magic!!
The video doesn't show it well, but it was a folded up star.....when they came on the star opened up and Mick was on the tip looking at the audience. It was fucking AWESOME!!
Brilliant 😎 Stones fully recovered from tax exile and loving the USA.
Now I ask you have you ever seen any thing more beautiful than Mick Jagger performing on stage!!!!
in a word, no.
Yeah. Me performing in the bedroom! 😎
He's amazing!
Yes, Mick Jagger :)

M.T. was not easy to substitute....in this special set with bottom line...
In 1975 jimmy page named his favorite American band. The stones wanted to jam with that unnamed band. What was the name of that band?

Justamente verdade ..Keith não só estava bêbado mas totalmente chapado de heroína o vício estaca cada vez o tomando.
Jagger said that the Stones could have stopped at the time.
(cause of Keith and Ron addiction) but he avoided to say that.
Mick was the best front man in the business, but Charlie made the show.

i think i have this hot as hell
