It's a great character and it shows you how hard it is for a former gangster to go straight. Trying to run a studio 54 type of nightclub at the same time. Sean Penn as the lawyer was such a slimeball
Feeling Minnesota is the only entry on this list I can’t recommend. I saw it recently for the first time and immediately understood why I had never heard of this movie with two big names in the lead roles.
Anthony, you always bring me back to my childhood with these reviews. Thanks for being so passionate about the movies that raised us. Blessings to you and yours from me and mine. Have a happy Thanksgiving. As always looking forward to the next one. ✌🏽🙏🏽☝🏽💪🏽🤞🏼
A few that I love that rarely get mentioned are 1. Mystery Date - a fun comedy/action/romance. It's got everything. Plus a great soundtrack 2. Mannequin 2: On the Move - This movie is just goofy fun. Light and so entertaining 3. Pump up the Volume - Great teen drama 4. Popcorn - One of the most fun horror films of the 90's 5. Disturbing Behavior - Another great horror film. I'd love to see the directors cut someday
I actually seen Ford Fairlane in its theatrical run in 1990 when I was 17. There wasn’t an empty seat and the entire theater laughed from beginning to end. The critics and the studio were embarrassed by it and did what they could to bury it.
Carlito's Way is definitely one of those underrated and underappreciated 90's movies. It deserves way more attention than it receives. While not on the same level as Scarface. It's still just as fun to watch in my opinion.
Massively agree one of the best teenage comedies of all time. I like how he ends up with the bullies sister and that was the lady he truly wants such a great film
100th comment LOL! Even more lost 90's movies: Broken Arrow, Jeresy Girl (1992) Nobody's Perfect (1989) The Siege, The Client, Primal Fear, The Negotiator, Deep Rising, Enemy Of The State, Drop Dead Fred, Mr. Destiny, Buried Alive, Lisa, Chaplin, Waterworld, Jingle All The Way, Darkman, A Simple Plan, Judgment Night, Very Bad Things, Falling Down, It Could Happen To You, Soapdish, Cool Runnings, Cube, Raising Cane, Don't Tell Mom The Babysitters Dead, Rushmore, Suicide Kings, The Marrying Man, Shallow Grave, The Last Supper, Extreme Measures, Desperate Measures, He Said, She Said, Deceived, A Kiss Before Dying, Mickey Blue Eyes, Memoirs Of An Invisible Man, Love Potion No. 9, The Cowboy Way, The Color Of Night, Encino Man, Men At Work, Psycho IV: The Beginning, Sleepers, In the Mouth Of Madness, Dead Again, Breakdown, Unlawful Entry, Executive Decision, Instinct, Malice, 8MM, With Honors, Murder In the First, The Cutting Edge, Ghost Writer (1989) TOYS, 54, Anywhere But Here, Any Given Sunday, Awakenings, The Basketball Diaries, Beavis And Butthead Do America, Blast From The Past, The Bird Cage, The Beverly Hillbillies, Boys On The Side, Boys Don't Cry, The Boondock Saints, Chasing Amy, Boys N The Hood, Cliffhanger, The Cider House Rules, City Slickers, City Slickers II: The Legend Of Curlies Gold, Con Air, Contact, The Crucible, 54, Dangerous Minds, Danta's Peak, Dead Man Walking, Dogma, EDtv, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Double Jeopardy, Empire Records, Far And Away, Fearless, Encino Man, The Fifth Element, The Fisher King, The Flatliners, When Fools Rush In, The Full Monty, Four Weddings And A Funeral, G.I. Jane, GATTACA, Girl Interrupted, Go, Heavyweights, Higher Learning, The Haunting, How To Make An American Quilt, House On Haunted Hill, The Hurricane, Ice Storm, In & Out, The Joy Luck Club, Kalifornia, A Leaague Of Their Own, Little Woman, A Long Kiss Goodnight.🎥⚾🎬🧢
"Red Rock West " and "One False Move " are another couple of good ones ... BTW thanks for reminding me about Zero Effect , I loved that movie when I first saw it , an absolute gem
Again you've picked some gems and movies that I totally love that nobody ever talks about Ford fairlane is one of my favorite Renny Harlin movies number one is cliffhanger which he never bettered by the ways and what's so funny is die hard 2 came out the same summer a week apart to and myself being a huge music fan this movie combined rock and roll with kick butt action why don't they make movies like this anymore and my total favorite of the list is strange days I don't know about you but have you ever experienced a movie that totally blew your mind in a theatre such as this one and come to discover that nobody went to see it all I can say is this movie deserved a wider audience and it's absolutely in my list for top 20 movies of the 90s and I do wish Ralph Fiennes would've done more roles such as Lenny Nero it's definitely one of his finest early performances
@ it truly does. This was Laurence Fishburne’s breakout role as far as I’m concerned. He was good in School Daze but this was it for me. Plus the soundtrack introduced us to Snoop Dogg.
Great list. Your best list yet. Some real Winners on here. Deep Cover and Strange Days are excellent films that have held up amazingly well. There are a few on here I need to check out for sure.
@ strange days is almost prophetic to watch now. Crazy thing is that I had this on VHS back in the day and all of my friends would ask what it was about cause they had never heard of it. It’s super hard to find on home media now. I’m fortunate enough to have two copies on DVD.
Carlito's way. Lost? It's still watched and talked about. It's in the same category as scarface(1982), boyz in the hood, menace to society, belly. It's a certified hood classic.
Adventures of ford fairlane was ahead of it's time and might be the greatest comedy to never get a sequel. I keep small hopes that we can still get one, one day.
How about these: Galaxy Quest, George Of The Jungle, Cape Fear, Deep Impact, The Adventures Of Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert, 10 Things I Hate About You, East To East, But I'm a Cheerleader, Point Break, Batman: Mask Of the Phantasm, La Haine, Run Lola Run, Princess Mononoke, Event Horizon, Election, White Men Can't Jump, Millers Crossing, Misery, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, As Good As It Gets, Before Sunrise, Kicking And Screaming (1995) Swingers, Office Space, Reservoir Dogs, Rushmore, Orlando, A Simple Plan. 🤗🎥🍿🎬
Return to Paradise was supposed to take place in Malaysia but the themes and setting was Thailand. Also as I remember most of Brokedown Palace actually shows the two main female leads traveling around Thailand. The best movie about an adventure and travel in Thailand gone wrong is The Beach with Lenardo De Caprio.
Ford Fairlane was kinda great. I saw it when I was like 13 years old. I didn't even know who Andrew Dice Clay was. I thought he was funny and if you don't take the movie too seriously. When I finally saw some stand ups. Andrew basically played himself. And I was fine with that. Again don't think too much about the movie. Just enjoy Andrew 🙂
The plot of Toy Soldiers reminds me of a movie I watched once, but I'm pretty sure I saw it in the 80s. I don't remember the name, but it was about a bunch of kids in a private military school trying to stave off some bad guys. I've got the soundtrack to Ford Fairlane, and really enjoy it. If it's the movie I'm thinking of, Zero Effect is a modernisation of a Sherlock Holmes story - either Scandal In Bohemia or Study In Scarlet. It's been a while, I don't remember rightly.
I remember there was a little movie store we had in town called stop n go and they had a 5 for $5 in the early 90s long as it wasn’t a brand new new release so I’d grab toy soldiers as one of the five every time. I loved Billy, reminded me of myself. What’s he say, he’s a contractor, your father owns the third biggest construction company in the world, ya like I said he’s a contractor lol something like that
I love Toy Soldiers. Man those days were great when little corner markets would have a little corner for video rentals. Always the best deals. And if you were nice you could get dibs on the movie posters when they were done with them.
@ that’s funny you mention that cuz that’s exactly what I did and looking at your office I’m always like damn I wish I still had that stuff! I got heavy into boxing so I started buying signed trunks and putting them in shadow boxes but that get expensive can’t do it all the time. Cripe the frames cost as much as some of the trunks
I hear you there - I have this old signed Shawn Kemp Sonics jersey and awhile back I went to look into those display boxes and I was shocked! They ain't cheap!
I would love to do that. Hopefully when this channel gets bigger I get get some interview ops with stars from some of these 80s and 90s movies. I did a few interviews back in the day when I was a critic and I enjoyed it. I been planning a live show in this channel in the future as well. Thanks for watching!
Me: Ugh! It's one o'clock in the morning and I really need to go to sleep. [gives one last channel surf] I gotta get up in five hours! ['Carlito's Way' opening credits begin.] Yep, this is why God created coffee and carbs. [settles in with a happy sigh.]
Haha! I been there before! Tired - but a great movie comes on and my first thought is, "Tomorrow Anthony will keep us awake through the day. It's time to watch a great movie I've seen a few times already."
Ford Fairlane seemed awesome when I was 12, it doesn't work for me anymore. The movie is fun and has a great feel but ADC is a cartoon. Sam Kinison is revered as a legend, ADC was a fad.
The Diceman!!!😂😂😂hilarious guy!!!fahhhkin jeyerkofff!!!💯🤣🤣🤣movie is dumb as hell but it's supposed to be but funny AF!!I yell that driving on the road all the time!!!💯🤣🤣🤣
Carlito's Way is one of Pacino's best imo.
It's a great character and it shows you how hard it is for a former gangster to go straight. Trying to run a studio 54 type of nightclub at the same time. Sean Penn as the lawyer was such a slimeball
THE ADVENTURE OF FORDFAIRLANE haves a great story line with great director I find it very entertaining to watch 😊
It has a lot of laughs.
Ford Fairline is a fun movie and Strange Days is awesome.
Definitely!
Great pick with Toy Soldiers!
A classic for sure!
Another great list of movies to watch! Great stuff as usual. Most underrated TH-cam channel!!
I appreciate that!! Thanks a ton for the support!
Feeling Minnesota is the only entry on this list I can’t recommend. I saw it recently for the first time and immediately understood why I had never heard of this movie with two big names in the lead roles.

I really do appreciate the kind words and the support! Means a lot to know people enjoy this content. These were the movies I grew up on!
A few that I love that rarely get mentioned are
1. Mystery Date - a fun comedy/action/romance. It's got everything. Plus a great soundtrack
2. Mannequin 2: On the Move - This movie is just goofy fun. Light and so entertaining

4. Popcorn - One of the most fun horror films of the 90's

Great picks, Pump Up the Volume has always been a favorite of mine.
Always look forward to your videos, keep doing your thing and blessing us with these hidden gems!
I appreciate that! Thanks!
Another great list. My top 3 are Toy Soldiers, Carlitos’s Way and Adventures of Ford Fairlane.
3 solid picks! Fairlane had me cracking up!
Deep Cover and Carlito's Way a great also
I actually seen Ford Fairlane in its theatrical run in 1990 when I was 17. There wasn’t an empty seat and the entire theater laughed from beginning to end. The critics and the studio were embarrassed by it and did what they could to bury it.
Awesome memories, its cool when you see a movie and its a hit with the entire audience. Great energy.
@ For one night anyway. But like I said, the Hollywood Big Money didn’t want Ford Fairlane to succeed.
Carlito's Way is definitely one of those underrated and underappreciated 90's movies. It deserves way more attention than it receives. While not on the same level as Scarface. It's still just as fun to watch in my opinion.
I always love sitting down and watching it.
I actually like Carlito’s Way more than Scarface.
'Book of Love' is a funny teen movie that got way overlooked.
Massively agree one of the best teenage comedies of all time. I like how he ends up with the bullies sister and that was the lady he truly wants such a great film
Good list! Jogged some memories, gonna run back Strange Days and maybe Terminal Velocity. 🤘
2 solid picks! Thanks for watching!

Carlito's Way got - and still gets - a lot of love. Instant classic.
“Boy did you pick the wrong guy on the wrong day.”
Haha great line!
@@MoviesNeverSayDie it really was. Man Tim Robbins was so great back in the day.
His most under appreciated film
In my opinion is AntiTrust.
😂
Great movie!!💯👍lotta laughs in that one for sure!!
Oh shit! I love Antitrust I was in college when it was released and watched it so many times. Robbins was also great in Arlington Road.
Please don't forget about the very forgotten but very funny "Brain Donors" (1992)
Oh yeah that's a great mention!
Brain Donors was a 90’s take of The Marx Bros. Classic funny film!
@@popeye5274 It was suppose to be called "Lame Ducks" and then a major election happened at the time and they decided to change it
"Red Rock West " and "One False Move " are another couple of good ones ... BTW thanks for reminding me about Zero Effect , I loved that movie when I first saw it , an absolute gem
I need to check out Red Rock West it isnt ringing a bell. Thanks for watching!
Great list. All of these are classics and should be watched!
Carlito’s Way is in no way a LOST movie, though. 😀
Yeah I'll give ya that one. Its certainly known to many.
Love that you brought up Deep Cover. My friends and I used to watch it many times on our movie nights.
It's a great movie! Has a strong rewatch value too!
@ it truly does. This was Laurence Fishburne’s breakout role as far as I’m concerned. He was good in School Daze but this was it for me.
Plus the soundtrack introduced us to Snoop Dogg.
Totally agree! That soundtrack was impressive!
Carlito's Way is a classic!
Someone remembered Nothing To Lose.
Toy Soldiers was a blast! Louis Gossett Jr was so much animated and macho fun!
Toy soldiers. Die hard in a prep school
Yeah I liked his cool mentor role.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie It was great. he was kick ass and fun as heck in The Principal, too.
Love the Principal I just rewatched it over the summer!
Great list. Your best list yet. Some real Winners on here. Deep Cover and Strange Days are excellent films that have held up amazingly well. There are a few on here I need to check out for sure.
Thanks dude! I love Deep Cover, and I had a blast rewatching Strange Days for this video. I forgot how good it is.

Great picks - event horizon, white men cant jump has bee longtime favorites of mine.
Awesome video
Thanks for watching!
The only time I am not annoyed by TH-cam ads is when it's on Anthony's channel
Hey I appreciate that! Hope all has been great!
"I said please don't kill me freaky Jason!"
"It's means there's a spider.. ..on your mother****ing head!" 😂

The Beach is a solid movie. I remember watching that so many times in my early college years.
Alright Anthony since you are such a James Belushi fan, how about you cover the lost gem "Curly Sue"
“Carlito’s Way” doesn’t really fall in the “lost” category. It’s one of Pacino’s best. 5:52
Fairlane is a cult classic. Made in 1990 for a select audience: those who enjoy their non-PC humor, and it's glorious.
Yeah I always have a blast of laughs with it.

Wow, Masterminds totally ripped off Toy Soldiers
That was the one I was thinking of!!Patrick Stewart was the bad guy, right?
I dont think I've seen that one - I need to give it a look.

I think pretty much everything in the late 90s is lost.

liked Nothing to Lose except for Martin Lawrance swearing too much
