Guitarist Tony came to my house to do some repairs on some cabinets the wife had bought! He signed all my albums for me and said that this album 'Squawk' was his favourite one he worked on.

That was a great review of stranded….saw them a few times in late 70’s- early 80’s..fantastic live too…..they were indeed robbed .. but the band of us fans loved them without critique and yes…I still play their albums to this day, cheers 👍

Not every day you get a reaction to Budgie, so this made my day! Been a fan of them since the '70s!
My favorite album of theirs is and has been Impeckable, so anything off that album would be great, if you're up for reacting to more of their stuff. 🤟

Thanks for dropping in! Yes, I don't imagine too many people react to them, but they're all missing out, right? You have a specific song you'd like me to start with?

@@Yeedeed Hej Mike This is Keith A here. I commented the first Budgie reaction you did. Please, please, do another Budgie reaction as soon as possible. I so much appreciate the love you have for this amazing band, who themselves are due so much love and appreciation they never got. Which song to try? Any of these: "Black Velvet Stallion", "Hot as a docker's armpit", "Nude disintegrating parachutist woman", "Hammer and Tongs" (Heavy), "Gunslinger", "Time to remember".
Oh, who am I kidding, they've made over 50 fantastic songs. You can't go wrong whatever you pick.
If you're looking for another "best band that no-one knows" try "Druid" (another Welsh group) and their "Left to mind", or "Painter's cloud".
Then there's Golden Earring - but for heaven's sake not "Radar love" or "Twilight zone". Go for their live version of "Sleepwalkin'".

I grew up in the 70's rocking to Budgie. Brilliant Welsh 3 piece band, only saw them once.

To be honest I think the reason they weren't bigger is their songs were usually long and not radio/media friendly.

Tony Bourge is an excellent guitarist. Try Hot as a Docker’s Armpit from the same album… th-cam.com/video/g4_wc6jbqus/w-d-xo.html
Anything from their first four albums is great. The first album is quite raw but heavy. Stranded is from Squawk, their second album, then Never Turn Your Back on a Friend and In For the Kill are all great, great albums.

I like the guitar work and the bass in this too. It even sounds kind of modern if there wouldn't be the old school vocals

A classic UK band from Wales. Budgie released some classic rock albums of the 70's. Budgie are one of those bands who the more you listen to their albums the more you begin to appreciate the subtle artistry of their music. Just ask Pete Pardo at 'Sea of Tranquility' on youtube how good Budgie were.

Great to see your reactions, I am also doing noises when listening to Budgie. Try out Guts, Zoom Club , Compressing the comb on a cockerels head, If I were Brittania….

Hey Mike, how've you been ?
this is my first listen to this band, but I knew I'd heard of them before..I'm sure Metallica covered a song of theirs, back in the "And Justice For All" days, the song's called Breadfan...I haven't heard the original from Budgie, maybe it's one you could check out, also I agree, the bass player could've kept his part simple, but when you color outside the lines, things are way more interesting

Hey man, I'm sorry I missed your first comment about 3 months back! I will try to get more Tool on the channel, as well as Mr. Bungle. I love Mike Patton as an artist, but haven't really delved into Mr. Bungle or Tomahawk too much. What song you want me to check out?
