Oh boy, this brings back some memories. Back in the days I was in an anime club in CEGEP and I was studying video production. Someone in the club had a contact in Japan who sent us vhs tapes of anime directly from Japan with TV ads and station markings. He sent the tapes with a translated and timecoded script. We would then add the subtitles using our super high tech gear and watch it in a projection room. I did some the subtitles for our club for Magic Knight Rayearth. Doing it was time consuming but fun.
