I've been playing Runescape since 2003, getting near maxing and i'm ready for more content to osrs. As long as we dont have EOC all over again we'll be ok.
With new skilling it will be eoc again
Sailing with how it was pitched is not only a new skill but basically another whole map expansion as well. This will most likely be the single largest expansion in the game and rs as a whole in a very very long time.
The difficulty comes in mirroring the oldschool runescape feeling in so much territory. Thats going to feel weird.
@@crazykhespar8487 yeah but not everyone plays osrs for nostalgia, its just a good mmo
I think the main argument against a new skill isn't "it's more to do", it's that it is disruptive. How is sailing going to impact the Runescape economy? How will it impact core gameplay, sucha s getting 99s in other skills? The impact might be insane - what if, for example, there's a way to get sailng up and access a new chinchompa location. What would that do to chin prices? What would that do to people's ability to get 99 range? What would inflated range levels do to PVMing? etc etc. Runescape is *complicated* and a new skill is like throwing a big stone into the middle of a pond, it'll have ripples.
I'm "pro sailing" but it has to be done carefully.
Good thing im a ironman feel like this wont effect me.
All new forms of content are definitely disruptive, each one has to be pretty carefully considered.
Every one of the past pvm update has ruined at least one skilling money maker, raids brought the economy to shambles, even the skilling updates like GotR killed its own gp value runes are pennies now...
our economy was dying, a lack of death like the old days means too many items flood the game. back in my day a glory amulet was 120k, now it's 19k,
generally prices will go up, and that's a good thing
@@DevBunnyx0you're such a loser lmao
I'm so excited for sailing, I'm going to make a Sailing Only UIM TH-cam series
"If u like gathering skills you probably ate glue in elementry" admits voting for shamanish 😂 no way you did that back in the day kaoz! ❤
Voting against additional content because you dont have the free time to dedicate towards completing said content is such a trash mental I cant even put it into words
As someone that voted against the grand exchange being added to the game what happens when they try to push similar features from rs3 into osrs that destroyed the game then and all then time investment I put into a game I love will be for nothing because I will have lost all interest in the game. I literally quit rs3 when Eoc was introduced because it was no longer RuneScape by that point. I’d rather risk getting a virus / hacked finding a pirated version of the game than spend any time playing that bs.
Grand exchange isn't even rs3. What are you bitching about 😂
@@dillonmodaff2708as someone who also quit during EoC you can't approach every update with the "IT WILL BECOME RS3" mentality otherwise the game would just stagnate and die in 2 months as it almost happened during early OSRS
Grand exchange in OSRS is great
Zeah is great
I don't even raid but I know they are cool
Leagues are awesome
I still don't love sailing but I am all up for a new thing
@@dillonmodaff2708pretty sure the majority of osrs players that started again with release quit because of eoc or around that era.
My maxed 1 def pure became an absolute travesty over night.
@@dillonmodaff2708looking at the old school team’s track record of a literal flawless reputation since the launch of OSRS 10 years ago, I think your paranoia is misplaced.
Yes. Yes it will
Dude facts about how addicting this game is. Iv been playing since 06, and have taken like up to year long breaks and always come back with a vengeance its sick.
TASTE VENGEANCE
What plug in highlights your armor in inventory like yours and makes the boosts and all that look clean on the left corner?
75% was a ridiculously high vote threshold. I don't know if I'm gonna have enough time to give sailing much attention straight away. But I haven't done any raiding yet, should I have a hissy fit about raiding being included in the game???
adding a raid is entirely new to osrs, but skills have been in the game since day one. The significance of the original 23 skills is what matters most, lot of players want to keep it that way.
@@alexward8596But why is that what matters most? Sounds very arbitrary to say.
@@alexward8596try not to build your argument on a presupposition.
@@alexward8596 that's called being runescape amish, and we make fun of fools like that
@@alexward859624 now fool. Why not just get rid of agility and thieving since they weren't in the game to begin with too?
Thank you for the reasonable take on Sailing. I have a feeling that most people will come around to the skill, it truly has the most potential for future expansion, and integration into the game world and existing skill framework.
The idea of raiding on a friend's ship or even something insane like a wilderness area for ships (I'm sure that won't happen) seems so fun. I want to have buddies with blinged out ships, hell, even putting some POH stuff on ships. They have so many directions to go in
I think a lot of people think that sailing is going to be so much more grand and elaborate than it’s going to be. It’s osrs… lol
It may not be on release, but jagex fully intends dangerous areas of sailing where you can have pvp sea battles
@@JohnDoe-lj1pwagreed. Boring asf
sailing will probably be completely dead content a couple months after release
@@ohokok yeah totally, all the best in slot stuff and best xp/h methods will be useless, it will be dead content just like ToA and slayer
Anyone else wondering what the loot was? I only came for the CoX run...
legit
I don’t mind new skills but they really should be ones that add to the game and gameplay for the players. If you’re not adding something that enhances the fun then it’s not worth it. They really should flush it out and build it up before launch.
Jagex should have definitely polled Sailing against Shamanism IMO. The people that voted for Taming deserved to have a say since their skill wasn't going to be added.
nope, they all got polled, and one of them won
I think good reason they might have skipped that was becuase sailing was Jagex' biggest plan and they probably had the most ideas for it already fleshed out in their heads.
I’m excited about it, but also I’m only around 130 levels from maxing so by then I might have just maxed.
Can’t wait for sailing been looking forward to it
I think its going to be like slayer but incorporates or has the potential to incorporate gathering and combat skills. And perhaps crafting, smithing, and construction for the actual shipbuilding
They created full content before polling it?
Wow that explains the slow developement :D
I'm up for it definitely
My biggest critique is not the actual skill. I wish Jagex did a separate poll where it was only Sailing vs Shamanism because it was too close to call. Going forward, I won't vote no on everything out of spite because sailing will be coming to the game regardless. I would rather make sure the things I like most get in.
the music in the background, is that runescape orchestrated? where can i find it?
It's the RS3 OST.
The only thing that ruined RuneScape to begin with was eoc. The mental of not wanting new content will kill osrs. Im so happy they are finally adding a new skill. Its about time
Fax
I hear a lot of players say they stopped after summoning and dungeoneering. It may have been at its peak before EoC, but that bubble is bound to pop.
I love the idea of new content yes I get osrs is a nostalgic game but being 20 years old it's time for some new life to be brought into it that's what brings new people in and keeps the game alive
I'm just stoked to take my lady lumbridge back from that bastard who stole it after dragon slayer 1.
The gameplay was fun to watch
Nothing hits better than elmers white glue, dont knock it til ya try it
I just want good sailing mechanics in more mmos so I welcome this add!
that is a crazy stat, that 6% of people voted on polls only, thus it makes so much sense to lower it from 75 to 70. Makes you wonder if they should have a minimum threshold for more important things like new skills, e.g. 10% of the playerbase min votes and 65% positive or something, curious how they first arrived at 75% now
Sailing sounds great to me because it rings similar to construction. I like skills that weave into the existing ones and can provide alternative training methods and reasons to do them. Sailing could make rubbish skills like firemaking useful for instance.
Will be fun seeing the hiscore race happen again, who knows who will be the potential new rank 1 player etc
I remember seeing a guy on Twitter who had like 30 alt accounts vote no to sailing lmfao
Sailing as a rumour/troll has been around since way before 2014. I remember it being a forum troll in the early 2000s lmao.
Some people haven’t played wind wakers and it really shows
maybe previous members should be able to vote also
I can’t see Sailing being another other than Beneficial to the game. From what I understand it basically expands on a vast number of other skills and opens new content opportunities to the game as a whole. I see it as more of a path of opportunity to expand on the game and less of a standalone piece of content.
Videos that should be 2 seconds long with the narrator just saying "Yes":
runescape amish detected
@@007kingifritnah it just isn’t a good skill
@@rolllimbo973 you lack imagination if you think that, it does everything a good skill should do
@@007kingifritI don't know what imagination has to do with anything? Sailing will just incorporate all the dead skills into it like smithing because jagex doesn't know how to revamp existing skills to make them useful. Also how is going from point A to point B a skill? I think sailing would be awesome as a minigame but I just dont see how its a good skill. Honestly shamanism should have won, i think it just fits the game better but to each thier own.
Bro changed my mind and made me want sailing
W
Honestly should be members only that way if you want the og experience you can log into a free to play world
Or you can you know, not level it?
it should be noted how controversial it is that sailing was the one to pass with a 600 vote difference between shamanism lol... Shamanism is kind of like invention on RS3 in terms of "upgrading" or adding augments to your armour to give it passive effects. Taming is Summoning 2.0. Sailing is the only one. This update could actually be very good and huge for the game and change the way the game is played forever. In all honesty though, I think sailing would need osrs to have a huge graphical update or sailing will feel super super bland imho.
"huge graphical update" lmao please go play rs3, just go play rs3 and stop engaging with osrs entirely please do it
Oh you wanted the gathering skill too? Yaaaah team glue eaters ftw!!
goober
Sailing will hopefully make better content for my least favorite skill 🙏 (Fishing)
Also it just seems like theres only so much nostalgia a live game can utilize while drawing in and keeping players, and this skill looks like a great addition.
no, you're least favorite skill is runecrafting
I remember Sailing being a meme when i kinda started playing lmao
I hope it's good, I voted yes because i think it's time for a new skill.
It won't ruin it. Hell I think we need to increase level caps on skills to like 125. Most are outdated like mining and smithing. They've added so much and crammed rune being the max thing to do with it.
125 is nearly 200 mil xp
The fuck we do
@@pancake7183people already grind that much xp with 99s so they will definitely do it for actual skills. Full maxing an account was not originally supposed to be possible they just underestimated the grindset
I've been hesitant about new skills since Dungeoneering was a thing, I hated that place lol
i LOVE dungoneering , but it could also impact regular dungeons like being a certain level gives bonuses while underground
I voted for taming, but I'm truly on team "please just add anything" lol
litearlly ditto i would gladly take any of the 3, or dungoneering.....or nerfed summoning
Perhaps Jagex should consider releasing the skill in sections, like not everything all at once. Maybe release a bare bones version of the skill so it's in the game and then they can drip feed everything else in little by little based off community feedback.
No
Holy shit, they’re the devs. The players are not. They don’t need our approval every step of the way and if they need my over sight then I better be getting a check in the mail. The devs need to have the courage of their convictions and put the content in that they believe in. EOS sucked, we all get it. But that doesn’t mean we just completely neuter the devs and force them to get our okay every step of the way. That’s just ridiculous.
I wish summoning, like 2008 summoning with some obvious patches and 120skills would come into the game. Could flush out a lot of existing content. On the 120 skills no upgrades besides an upgraded skill cape once 120 is reached.
getting rid of yaks and titans and adding a stat "spiritualism" that determines how much damage your pet can deal based on your gear would be helpful
@@007kingifrit People who are anti summoning because of yaks and titans are ridiculous lol. We already have the thrall spell in game that servers the same purpose that steel titan did back in rs2. The only difference is thrall requires a recast every now and then. I'd enjoy the game a lot more if they put summoning back in the same exact way it was released originally. I've been playing since just after summoning was initially released and its not going to break the game. I voted in the poll that started OSRS and have been playing ever since. I and many other players have ALWAYS wanted the game as it was just prior to EOC being released. runescape in mid 2012 was peak runescape. flat out. Summoning, dungeoneering, nex, quests like nomads requiem, all of that content should be in the game. We got nex. Give us the rest.
@@BMXhunterWOW doesn't thrall require a necromancy spellbook or w/e i don't use that stuff. and no it doesn't do the same thing as the steel titan, the steel titan gave passive bonuses, attacked for you, and all this other stuff
and you didn't even respond to the bigger problem the yak: which allowed permanent camping at any boss
.... f****, you really never quit runescape... im just getting back to osrs after pause of like 4 years.... dunno what to do... i guess ill just quest and do some skilling 😅
I'm all for the new content and having a means to get around on the seas besides the charter ships but I'm dubious about sailing as a full skill in it's own right. I would have said that it should more be like a series of unlocks kind of like the spirit trees. Having something else to grind xp in isn't really the fun part.
the entire point of the game is to level skills, that's literally the goal
@@007kingifrit Levelling skills is the process, the goal is the things you unlock and the final completion. I maintain that completing a series of different actions is a more engaging path to unlocking those things than do this action 20,000 times.
@@LordRaxyn no, the journey is the goal, life isn't about getting to the end
It is the fun part. Skills make the game. I want more to work towards
as long as Jagex keeps ironman mentality while doing the skill, it should be very relevant skill and stay relevant
Fuck ironmen. It ruined the game. Everything is tailored toward them now
Uh, no. They should design it around mains because that’s the main game. Ironman is an optional restriction.
@@gfyGoogle Optional restriction yes, but everything that exists in the grand exchange is there because someone somewhere had to do what the Ironmen are restricted to anyway, it's not wrong to say that designing a new skill should start there
I’m here just to see who else ate glue as a kid! Lmao #GatheringSkillLover
I think it is the safest skill to implement without changing the basic gameplay loop. However, I personally think it could just be added as content without having to be a skill. Imagine there was a skill called "raiding" that just gave you xp for doing raids
dungeoneering in rs3 is raiding as a skill, so its not a unheard of idea and i actually do like dungeoneering ngl
@@Gizzor Right but just because it happened doesnt mean it needed to be a skill. That could have just been good content or a "minigame" in the sense that gauntlet is a minigame. Or even a different slot next to quests and achievements like favours
@@loismylane im just saying sailing being a skill isnt a bad thing if its done right good sir
@@Gizzor Never said it would be bad if done right. Im just saying there is 0 reason it needs to be a skill
All these people saying "Oh it's so annoying to have to get my max cape again" and like I get it but they need to realize that is a minor inconvenience in the grand scope of the game and a worthy tradeoff if it means breathing new life into the game
sailing should of been an activity instead of a skill
I stopped playing years ago, I am waiting for sailing to come back.
What’s wrong with summoning?
nothing in theory but the pak yak ruined PVM by being OP and the titans ruined pvp by being OP
Met a dyslexic pirate the other day. All he would say is "RRRRRA"
I’m fine with a new skill but losing max cape would be pretty gd annoying. I’ll have to do inferno again, i turned in my only extra cape for chance at pet or farm the new skill to 99. Same with my other capes.
I don’t think you’ll lose the cape, it’ll just not be wearable like qcape
Just get another Infernal cape eaaasy game
@@Real-Ruby-RedI think this too, why would that take the cape off you? They don’t remove quest capes when a new quest comes out lol
Sailing is so goddamn redundant
Fax, all sailing is going to be is yay I’m doing hunter but I’m on a boat. Hey look I’m getting some crafting but I’m doing it on a boat. Wanna teleport somewhere to get there faster because that’s a cornerstone of the game? Too bad have fun standing on your boat sailing to that destination instead. All I see jagex doing is “we don’t know how to revamp existing skills to make them useful so we will add a bandaid skill that incorporates other skills were too lazy to change”
The fact that a skill that was an April Fool's joke is really being added makes me worried for the longevitiy of the game.
I'm going to be gathering and selling materials used in the skill before bots are trained and ruin the prices for real players
I don't understand the people crying that are max or near max. The games basically over for you, why not want something new so you can have something to work for
This isn't EoC, this isn't Squeal, this isn't destroying the game you already have. I have yet to really hear a reasonable argument for why people don't want Sailing outside of "It's an april fools joke," "It's a baby skill for babies," or "They only make bad content now so they should just stop making any new content at all." None of which are particularly persuasive or insightful arguments.
Not looking forward to people spam-downvoting every proposed reward like they did with past minigames so Sailing ends up scuppered and a shell of what it could be.
I didn't particularly care about WHAT skill passed, I just want something fresh. A good block of new content. While I'm not in love with Sailing *specifically* I'm sure there will be some fun and helpful stuff that will come from it.
All that said, thinking back, if I saw a lot of new skills added to OSRS before I started playing again, I might have bounced off the game like I did when trying to come back to RS3. That said, now that I've been playing for a few years, I want the game to grow and expand, test the limits and see what we can do within the engine.
ok wtf "nobody likes gathering skills"
I gotta call you out on that one, this game would be nothing without woodcutting and fishing
the skilling balance of different personality types was critical for the games growth, the dichotomy of skilling and combat, particularly high intensity and low intensity gaming (and thus, gamERs working together
just my two cents
I just hope sailing wont be like the ship-thing in rs3, it feelt so out of place in the game, alot ALOT of new content but, still really weird mechanism
I still can't believe we are getting a new skill.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not a maxed player yet but I'm getting close. I hate the grinding part of the game. How does a new skill affect the max cape?
How u get near max if u hate grinding? What have u been doing instead to get there..? >
you are playing the wrong game
yea grinding skills was always intended as part of the game
We should get rid of farming, slayer, construction, hunter and rune crafting as well. They weren't in rs2 and im furious they were added. While we are at it get rid if the GE. All skills armors. Combat achievements, raids, inferno, pvm kind of in general tbh. I want this game to be as boring as possible so everyone leaves and the game dies because im RuneScape amish
Runescape Amish is a fire term lololol
Osrs = online crack 😮
At this point with the skill passed, they should limit how much of the content is polled because the butthurt minority is going to do their best to leave sailing as bare bones and useless as they can, just so they can point and say they were right.
Sailing is ambitious, but Jagex has earned some benefit of the doubt lately for introducing content. They haven't been Zeah-release-Jagex in a while
This..more people voting should fix the problem aswel
I’m excited to see new content like that people can finally be pirates in RuneScape now.💀
Idk still waiting to use my rare fossils
Sailing seems kind of useless to me, not because I don't like the concept (I think it has a lot of potential) but because I think it doesn't have to be its own skill. It's not going to fill a huge niche like Runecraft did, or appear across the world like Hunter, it's a money sink like Construction and... we already have construction. I feel like giving a sailing expansion where the sailing elements work in existing skills instead would have been way better. Why not use Strength to tie the masts on the ship, or move cannons around? Why not use Smithing to make cutlasses and cannonballs for the ship cannons? Why not herblore for making gunpowder and poisons? Why not use hunter and agility to navigate the islands we find and to survive if we get shipwrecked?
I feel like gating the new content behind hundreds of hours of grinding instead of rewarding players who have already put in the grind by giving them something cool to use those stats *on* is the wrong idea. If the only way you can get people to play for three hundred hours is by making fifteen hours of distinct content and stretching it out twenty-fold, why bother?
Seems like more people would want a new skill if it didn’t so dramatically effect the rest of them.
the truth is they just didn't want to train anymore with their max cape or people close to a max cape
@@007kingifrit I'd love to know how many people are close to the max cape right before this drops so I can laugh
@@whiteandnerdytuba just count the no votes =)
You want people to vote? Give an xp lamp, not even a big one. People will take the bait.
You didn’t need to go by water to go to many places. It just sounds dumb and out of place for this game
Wait, hold on, just imagine for a second if they… wait for it…
Added places 😮😮😮🤯🤯
why isn't it a minigame of sorts or better yet just a new island with stuff to do, why does it have to be a skill? it doesn't.@@SuperJibulus
@@TheChipchub I could say the same about Slayer
How would you even sail on osrs.....like the ballooning?
Would be nice to release 3 skills
I don’t know about sailing if it’s good skills to train or bad skill to have.
Sometime I wish they could copy like Zelda tears kingdom where you can build vehicles 🚗
why isnt there a wilderniss skill
because that makes no sense? the wilderness already is a mechanic and nobody likes to go out there
Been playing off and on since 07 and I just can’t wrap my head around people who don’t want to include a new skill. I am currently having way more fun that I ever did in the 16 years I’ve had with this game with all the new content like zeah, GotR, raiding etc. super excited for sailing
Sailing locked hc iron man.
why do we not have mounts yet.... im tired of run energy. Do horses not exist in runescape.... theres unicorns!
No it wont ruin the game haha, new content is great, i dont get why you'd ever not want a new skill, more content to do and if you dont like the skill then dont use the skill, like all the bad skills alot of people currently ignore already. But if its a good skill with some nice new pets, collection log, money makers and maybe some sailing bosses, i dont see how you'd look at that and be like ahhhh they're ruining the game by giving me more to do haha.
Plus imagine if you can make your own ships that double up as houses, you can customise and edit the boat and dock it at any port youve unlocked which would give you an easy tele to out of the way areas of the map with a tele to boat scroll. You could use your construction skill to build new rooms on your ship, maybe your own fishing spots off the side of the ship. could add boat party servers, different types of wood you could colour your boat with depending on woodcutting level. If done well it could mix with the old skills so good and add beautiful new content to the game.
Well put.
Thats my main problem with it... sailing will be impossible to opt out of if you want to play osrs. How do you ignore when half the questlist has you on a boat at some point, all the new skilling metas are on a boat, and raids are underwater? The other skill proposals you could potentially ignore but not sailing, thats why the people that dont want it REALLY dont want it. lol
@@shaneroberts9702 how will it be impossible to opt out of?? They aren't gonna change all the quests that currently exist to need sailing they've never done that before haha. They'll just add a new sailing quest or two. It's not gonna change much that already exists it'll just add new stuff to do with stuff that already exists, like a new use for construction to build boat stuff, maybe new stuff to do with logs like make a boat.
They aren't gonna make it so you now suddenly need sailing to use the boats in the game that'd be dumb, sailing will be for using your own personal boat, charter ships will still be usable without sailing cause you ain't the one sailing those. But having your own personal boat could be cool cause then you could level up sailing and be able to go to ports yourself without having to pay people to take you there, maybe some miniquests in each port to get permission to dock there.
How will all the best skilling methods suddenly be on boats haha, maybe fishing but that's about it, a new creature or two to hunt on the water maybe, but since they're adding the hunter lodge I doubt sailing will be best hunting method.
And why is it even a problem if some of the best skilling methods are on a boat haha? Best combat and magic exp is through slayer but you don't hear people complaining that slayer ruins those other skills cause now you need slayer for best training.
Think of all the skills currently in the game, you don't particularly need any of them to do one of the others, this skills gonna be the same as all the other skills, just something that's nice to have but you don't need it to play, no idea why this will be any different haha.
@@seansmith877 They already said they're going to add quest requirements to existing quests, best combat and magic xp is DEFINITELY not through slayer, lol, and please name me a single skill that would effect as many other skills as sailing.most skills affect 1 or two other skills max. Sailing affects like 13. It's overreaching.
@@shaneroberts9702 even if they add quest requirements how is that any different from how it is now haha. If you've already done the quests "like the entire bulk of the people complaining" then adding a sailing requirement to 1-2 quests won't affect them. And for the people who don't have the requirements for the quest already and haven't done it, it won't do much to them other than add one more requirement haha.
The universally agreed best way to max all your combat stats is to go for 99 slayer what are you on about haha. There's afk ways that are good sure but for actual fun ways to max, slayer is like the main one.
Name me even a single skill sailing will affect in any negative way hahaha, it'll affect fishing a bit with some new fishing spots, maybe a new creature or two to hunt, possibly a handful of boat related things you can build with construction. How is any of that negative haha.
If I look at half the other skills they have the exact same impact.
Name you another skill okay hitpoints, almost every single other skill require you to take damage or be at risk of taking damage, agility you can fall and get hurt, thieving you get hit if you get caught, going to some of the best training methods require you to go through enemies half the time.
All the combat stats effect each other, some weapons require several combat stats to wield, there are armour sets that require defence, magic and prayer to wield so some gear needs a few skills to use.
I cannot think of any way sailing will affect, combat, mining, agility, smithing, herblore, thieving, cooking, prayer, fletching, firemaking, woodcutting, magic, runecrafting, slayer or farming haha.
Only skills I can think it might change is fishing and maybe hunter with some new stuff to catch or hunt, but again, they add new stuff to catch all the time in updates for new quests I don't get how doing that exact same thing but calling it sailing is suddenly a bad thing it makes no sense haha.
Other skills that affect loads of other skills are slayer, shit loads of bosses and enemies are locked behind slayer which is one of the slower skills to level up, so slayer affects litterally all the combat skills which is already like 5 haha, plus loads of items that only have a use on slayer tasks, slayer only areas and dungeons.
Agility affects legit the whole map with shortcuts, plus stamina is needed for most other skilling runs so agility affects pretty much every skill other than the stand still ones like mining or fishing. Even quests that don't have an agility requirement are affected loads by having bad stamina.
Sailing will be one of the best content updates ever and I’m so excited. Also, repoll Artisan and repoll Warding. Also great skills that would fit right in within OSRS and not break any aspects of the game’s “feel”.
i'd like a reworked summoning too with no titans or pak yak and your pet takes damage when you do and a new stat that impacts summoned pet damage taken and dealt on less meta gear
I would’ve loved it if we got artisan instead😢
Add Sailing
Repoll Artisan
Repoll Warding
All 3 would fit seamlessly into OSRS and not remove any “old school feeling” from the game. Artisan is basically skilling slayer, Warding is crafting/smithing for magic gear, and Sailing is for exploration and will be used for content updates that I hope will eventually lead to the Eastern Lands which would be so cool to finally see after the addition of Ak Haranu in 2005.
@@SuperJibulus and rework taming into a combat skill cuz i would love that
@@007kingifrit to build on this, what could be cool is if taming was something literally “foreign” to the current map of OSRS. In RS3 you have to go to daemonheim to do dungeoneering right, so it could be cool if you had to progress pretty far in the game to actually get to taming.
I’m thinking taming could be something they do exclusively in the eastern lands. You’d need to train up enough in all skills including sailing to get over there and then do a quest to unlock the skill. Could be heavily linked to hunter. The main western continents of OSRS would have taming function more like summoning to retain the “feel” of those areas. In the eastern lands there would be different laws relating to openly walking around with tamed beasts.
This would also work against devaluing pets 🤔 it’s not a 100% clean idea but I think it could be a start
Sailing will be a win for osrs
Sailing is such a dumb idea.
L
osrs feels like its stuck in time so i dont play it anymore
This has to be a joke comment right?
that's why forcing a new skill in the game is so important
i voted against a new skill but sailing has always been an inside joke so if any skill passed atleast it had some connection to osrs
Zulrah has done more “damage” to RuneScape by itself than all the new skills put together
To be fair, Zulrah represented a shift away from using skills as a viable source of income for anyone over 115 combat and 1800 total level.
I wouldn’t say it ruined the game, or even that it done any real damage, it just changed how people play past a certain point, the issue with Runescape historically and up until Zulrah, was that the only way to reliably get rich on the game, was skilling, which is what made Runescape such a grind for most people, but Zulrah and all the boss content that came after, represented a shift towards more conventional MMO ways to get rich, even the old bosses that existed before Zulrah had their drop tables buffed to reflect this shift.
Zulrah didn't ruin the game, it represented a shift towards more conventional forms of earning money on an MMO.
If I had to choose Id pick warding. I dislike new skills as they are being forced upon you in quest requirements and you can't ignore them. That's my only gripe.
Boohoo baby the game gets updates. Lmao. What kind of moron actually wants a stagnant dead game with no new content? So weird.
Like Runecrafting and Herblore? 🤪
you dislike new skills because you.....need to use them?
While I think sailing would be cool, It would almost certainly just be a midway point for fishing and contruction, and other than a transportation option that seems less useful than magic or fairy rings. And sailing seems like another "woodworking" skill like firemaking, fletching, woodcutting and construction, unless its a straight gold sink.
xamanism >
Omg, I cant believe they are ruining my favorite game by adding new content into it. This is literally why everyone complains. Jagex never listens to us. They just want the money. Im so mad
I think it should be said: Are we ever going to get Oldschool Oldschool Runescape servers?
Wait is it seriously late 2024? Good lord. Everyone will have forgotten by then. Maybe they can silently scrap it and release a good skill. Sailing would be a better minigame that draws from all other skills.
Will sailing ruin OSRS? - No.
jagex be like oh you voted no? lets poll it 6 more times and after you say no every time we'll just add it anyways
Good too many hard headed players will make osrs die because 26% could care less if the other 74% want to play
That’s not even close to reality but go off
i didn't even watch the video yet but i know it's good
Just give us dungeoneering instead… this is dumb.
Taming...they mean summoning right? Thatll never pass, the osrs community are rabid in their hatred of it for some reason.
