      sadly he would have had better luck getting corndog sticks to root. persimmons cuttings do not root. seed and grafting on to seedling started root stock is the only way to grow more persimmon trees.

    What dose trimming the leafs do and why is it important to keep them on

    • @LoloDanNZ
      @LoloDanNZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some says it helps with root formation as leaves does photosynthesis , and lessen the stress on the cuttings with few trimmed leaf .

    It has been raining for the last one week and starting yesterday my persimmon fruits starts falling off?

    • @LoloDanNZ
      @LoloDanNZ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its normal for the fruits to fall off when you get lots of rain when the fruits are still not fully developed. Sometimes the tree might be lacking some nutrients like calcium , nitrogen , copper and other trace elements . Same thing happened to my trees , if the tree have too many fruits the tree cannot sustained all the the fruits to develop. Thank you for subscribing to my channel ❤️

      All the cuttings developed leaf buds in springtime and flourish but they slowly die out after few weeks. They did not take roots sadly.

    All of the videos I've watched failed to get roots from layering or cuttings. They had good results from seeds and from grafting to American persimmon rootstock though. I hope someone figures out how to propagate with cuttings and posts the video.

      I have tried sticking it into bits of aloe vera and push it into rooting mixture of coco coir and compost but still no luck .Some leaves develop but didn't take roots.

      I want to try to slit the bottom of persimmon cuttings, and wedge some American persimmon roots in there and try “root grafting” to see if that works.

    I believe the success rate for persimmon cuttings is typically very low...maybe 2 pct

      I agree with you , as for my attempt nothing develops roots even though they developed leaves.

    Persimmons don't propagate from cuttings.
