LTC Craig's portion was very informative. It is interesting to see the power derived from effectively bringing SF, CA, and PO capability to bear.

Its such a shame to see 2,175 views at such a quasi-"critical mass" moment down in Venez/Ukraine/etc...What Col Beth Aragon said nailed it imho....I know how fast things move, and no we can't wait until deployed...But also, just if I could add to that, I wish guys I see during the Q&A portion like Sean Naylor, a great author--the guy who's from Newsweek in this session (and who's books I would read years ago, while working w/some old friends in their sorta post-service security gigs) and who, w/all he's done today actually could help the public get a better grasp on realities and not the tainted online chatter they read & believe (as some fellas I know who introduced me to his stuff said he's got a good rep w/their old OICs for being on top of keeping people informed).
I kinda have heard diff sides to it from fmr SOF to old salts on how it goes. About how truly, we maybe do need to ration out our best and brightest "double digit" SOF guys nowadays, just in terms of what we should do until we solve the retention/recruitment issues for SOCOM..Of course, w/kids who do all this airsoft/milsim crap you'd think that wouldn't be a problem...
There's some vets I did some marketing stuff for (can't remember but they were outta the USMC here on the East Coast) and they dressed as MARSOC operators!! lol...yeah, it's like "Well, man, hey dude I was a Devil Pup as a kid, and if I could've known what I know now, I wouldn't be playing Halloween, I'd be PLEADING instead to see what way I could serve those guys next...Or maybe that's the inner Scout in me (the whole Duty to Nation and Community deal we had instilled at young age)...and looking at the subjects they tackle regarding just USASOC, I just don't get the issue of recruitment for the Rangers (how they're pushing for more to ask to go to RIP)...I mean, sure, I could see how to do that insanely tough course (doubt I'd last long w/a busted back from trying to keep up w/guys who'd been thru courses like it so I can only imagine lol) but still..If I was a PAO, I'd be talking to my CO about how to cobble together a different set of incentives to boost the old "SF babies" (taking that 18X or whatever MOS) offer was but without the pitfalls...ODAs and information campaigns in combined elements like they explain here is what we REALLY desperately need imho, sorry to ramble..but we do..not another SOF unit who A) first was given a bunch of higher speed kinetic stuff the was the preserve of top tier folks, that if you know any, are more of rare than infamous proctologists and B) they're not created en mass for a reason...because the old doctrines of the 75th, last I understood, outside of their RRC? ..idk, they just weren't up to the dynamics the multi-prong operational needs being tasked to them. They're all DA, not enough diplomat to go w/the belt-fed...idk.
That FID mentality mixed w/what those SFAB and MISO areas of the wheelhouse are bring to the table WILL BE where our nation's collective future and it's national objectives in general will depend on...I mean, sorry I always rant for an eternity on these comment boards and just haven't ever been able to STFU lol...it just chaps the hide to think that kids REALLY don't see, w/how many faces I know are buried in phones, how much they're needed (and it's not like you're gonna be thrown out of a C-130 over China next week if you enlist to serve lol)...if they saw all the diff optics they'd be begging to sign up imho..
