Jamie that was a superb video to watch, so todays service ran then. Well they say you win some and its my fault I didn't win this one as I should have gone earlier in the year to see this train. Thanks for sharing this in terrible weather.
Even though the image quality is compromised by the rain it is nevertheless very enjoyable and particularly the sounds - You always capture that well. Real yellow beasties in action!
@@aureol40012 My dear Jake, as a close friend of Jamie (in person, not in an "alternative universe" as you rather rudely describe it) I know from our conversations that he was feeling initially disappointed about the rain interfering with the visibility/IQ. Personally I often like what inclement weather can contribute to the atmosphere conveyed in pictures whether video or stills. 🙂
There are plenty of trees where they came from up the Rheidol and Ystwyth valleys, east of Plymlimon and above Penrhyn Coch. It would be good if they were being got to the railhead using bio-diesel. Then the costs of cutting the carbon footprint of chipboard could be calculated. I’d be happy to pay a premium for ‘green’ timber supplies… especially if it keeps these fine locos in business
@@cidertom5140 You are correct, of course. Mrs Bowen, one of my English teachers would have said much the same. She had a brilliant nick-name which I can’t repeat here. But she was the very opposite of her nickname. I can guess you can work it out😉.

Awsome video ❤👍👍👍👍👍
That would keep my woodburner going for a while !!!
Love the class 37. When I used to catch the train home from uni and I saw one of these on the front. I knew it wouldn’t take long to get home.
Why is it the last one ? Do you mean the last one of 2023 or the last one for ever !?
They've cut down all the trees.

In what alternative universe is the image quality compromised in any way, shape, or form?!

Well they come past our house in Shrewsbury and theres been a load of them this last week !!
Cracking video m8
Lovely video!
Couple of questions:
1. has this freight flow now ended?
2. why are two locos required to haul a 9 wagon train?
Thank you!
Those wagons are darned heavy and so are the gradients.
Very good. Y is NR shifting logs I wonder?
Only locos that can go down that line as it’s ERTMS fitted.
Colas. JG.
Nice one.
I heard it was duff gen regarding them ceasing.
Has this log train come to an end now then?
Should restart in March. JG.

Are the logs really burnt?
They are going to the Chip Board factory in Chirk
Why the apostrophe in trains?
Weird how our beloved 37s are carrying trains with trees to be burnt instead of coal. Not very green at all.
They aren't going for burning, they are off to Chirk for making into chipboard.
Apparently for chipboard
